Winston's Tesla Cannon is 60dps that doesn't need to be aimed and can affect multiple targets at once. As a guy who keeps getting gold eliminations as Symmetra in the rank sixties, I can also point out that holding out a single route plain doesn't work. Even if we assume they don't just clear it out and fucks up all your turrets (remember you can only stack 3 at a time), they can just take at least two other paths and ignore you completely.

What works though is making a literal minefield of single turrets that only lives for adding a bit of annoying slow when you try to round corners. Around every corner they need to pick, at stretch of territory they need to take, add a single turret. This slows them down and exposes them to enemy fire, making peeking or running in harder.

So in a way you support your team by slowing attacking enemies.

This is stupid, I don't understand why they limited rankings to a 1-100 system (frankly only 50-80 even matter) when they aren't even going to stick to it for the top 500 junk.

In the beta we had a normalish tier system and it worked fine, who thought it would be a good idea to gut it and give us this horrible mess of a system? You can't even accurately gauge most peoples ranks because of how loose the matchmaking is and how quickly you can gain and lose ranks.

Placement matters, if you get placed at 75-80 and are a good player it doesn't matter if you queue solo as a DPS main because you'll almost always get into evenly matched games. The real issue comes with trying to rank up from the 50-low 60 range where you can't carry people because some of them are just that bad.

I'm usually hovering between 74 and 78 but every now and then the system starts putting 57-62 players on my team to """balance""" things out and it's a loss no matter how hard I try.

Widow and S:76 aren't picked at all because they suck balls (Widow is too unreliable and static, S:76 can't do his job as a midrange spammer anymore). This inflates McCree's pickrate because they are the kind of heroes that compete for the same spot on the team as a sort of "generalist ranged dps".

Zen partially reduced the team need for more ranged dps. The bigger problem though is that Discord orb shuts down Pharah, another generalist ranged dps that could compete with McCree.

In a more balanced game you'd see choice of offense heroes be more dependent on map (S:76 over McCree in first stage and hangar room), strategy (wanting to run a Hanzo and play around picks to stage an offense) and individual players (Talespin sure has a sick Pharah) on the team.

Yesterday was the first time I tried Ana+Reinhardt combo with my friend. I was Rein.

There needs to be terms differentiating "this guy is too hard to fight against" Op and "this guy is making the meta a snoozefest and putting others on the roster out of the job by being stronger than he needs to be/poorly balanced." Because McCree is the latter. If only a little. Like if they reduced his crit damage to 120 and gave the revolver spread after his first shot with a quick recovery time he would still be very strong while being more well rounded. And with those keeping him in check they could have kept his range at 30+ metres and work on his M2 a bit more since you'd need it to secure a kill against Tracer. McCree's headshot damage and Tracer's health really fuck things up when it comes to certain ideas and buffs they want to implement.

This latest patch fucked everything up, because they overbuffed various heroes they essentially made half the cast obsolete and a few are utterly unplayable. It's so tiring every single game to see a D.va, McCree, Zen, and Lucio on every single team, what makes it terrible is that you HAVE to pick them if you want the largest chance at winning, anything else lowers your chances drastically.

Mercy was a lot of fun to play as a support main but now picking her is basically an instant loss, I'm forced to play Lucio instead who really has no flair to his playstyle, just stand in range of everyone to heal, speedboost to secure a kill, and use your ult at a predetermined moment with no real chance to ever do anything unscripted.

Wallriding is his saving grace. Wallriding becomes more and more essential the more they focus you. It also min-maxes your healing output since any place with a bird's eye view gives you full LoS whereas on ground level many things can block your Los to half the team.
