Combat is a mix between Napishtim style and 7 style, and the game looks runs and sounds a lot better than Celceta. The soundtrack is fucking fantastic, the game's one of the best looking games on the damn system IMO, and the gameplay is great.

I think out of all the transforming suits Zeta does the job very well and eloquently. You're right about ZZ, that shit was a huge step backwards compared to the Zeta, and aside from the C1/A1, every other derivative just felt unnecessary.

I love how it looks in the anime, I can see how it looks kinda weird but the MG 2.0 and its appearance in games like EXVS and GB3 make it look pretty neat. Pretty much the same story for any suit from a main series before Stardust Memories.

Force is pretty alright, it's easier to play in quick bursts. I will admit GB3 is more hyped. You should try EXVS Full Boost if you really want a solid EXVS experience. It shits on Force is almost everyway (except for DLC, it's a DLC whore for extra suits thanks to Scamco). It's probably my favourite Gundam game of all time, and the Breaker series is pretty close to being up there as well for Gundam games.

As a result, they try to convince themselves that the game is good by tricking other people into buying it. I think the problem is that it basically just drops you in a small room to fight and lacks the feel you get from having zones like in MonHon or Toukiden, or the more-interesting, larger, and more complex areas in Freedom Wars. The fact that you can run out of spell uses and break them is even more annoying.

The story is really all that people make it out to be. I have yet to complete it, but so far it just seems to be a excuse to keep you going. I mean I have played games with poor gameplay with a really intriguing story just for the story before (e.g. Hundred Knight, Nights of Azure), but SSD doesn't really have the same level of story as those.

Alright I'm about to issue you some real outlier stuff but:

SSD looks visually unappealing, had terrible music, great aesthetics and an alright story, coupled with uninteresting maps, a stupid endgame system of min maxing, and terrible creature design anatomy. In regards to monster design, I could write up the same shit about them that I did when homecoming came out, but that seems rather unnecessary.

I often think peoples attach to it is because it's one of the first hunting games on the Vita, but I sure as shit don't see people still playing that as religiously as some people play Monster Hunter or Toukiden (mostly plat fags)

Twisted Fairy Tails have been done to death though, and better at that. The Three Little Pigs was cool, but Red Hood really didn't feel like a grandma eaten by a wolf at all.

The story has almost nothing to do with them as well. They are wholly inconsequential. They are just stepping stones for the plot. I only really read the backstory for the Elven Queen. While that adds quite a bit, you don't get that just from playing the game, and most people aren't going to go out of their way to read the backstories for the bosses.

the game wasn't pretty to look at because of it's frame rate issues, at least vanilla was, I only played about a dozen hours of delta. But the overall design that they were going for was nifty until you went into the game itself. The UI, color scheme, and to a lesser extent character design

On the other side of that coin, spell animations were bad and the monsters had stupid anatomy. And I won't give points to abductors because they were also stupid. And while I want to hate on aragami, the creatures (for the most part) don't look like they were assembled from different sized duplo blocks. Especially the spell animations, I need to reiterate that, because I don't think people do enough.

Now if we were to talk about the world building, SSD did that acceptably. I wouldn't put it on par with the world building of FFXII for instance, because every monster, region, item, and plant has a story related to it, but it was certainly interesting.
I should stress that this is personal taste and is by no means indicative of how people should view the game.

Maybe in Freedom. The motions were a lot more solid from Tri (really p3rd) moving forward. The biggest problem after that were wyvern tuning and weapon balance. I'd go into detail, but this ain't the general for that.

The problem with Toukiden that I had is that while everything felt good initially that initial feeling is all that there was to every weapon, especially the spear and the sickle and chain. Such cool designs that could stand to have more available to them. It gets really boring really quick when you finally get a hold of staying airborne with the sickle and chain, because all that leaves it is one triple hit combo amongst situational charges.

Again, I'm hoping 2 fixes these perceived issues. Though I'm sure not everybody feels that way.

I think personally the first game I would recommend to anybody is Muramasa plus the DLC, so if ya haven't played that, there's that.

Yes. It's a lot of fun especially if you are into cheesy B-Movies such as THEM! or the Old Godzilla movies. There are a ton of missions, multiple character types to play as, and a ton of insane weapons to collect.

You can insult lucifier all you want but don't tarnish Dragon's Crown it's a good game. Except the LoC and ToM I don't fucking know what vanillaware was thinking. I'm considering CEing just so I can actually beat those.

Do you mean Eridanus from strange journey? You have one way doors in the very first dungeon, it really sets the tone of what you're going to deal with in the rest of the game.

Though it's dickeries are less substantial than KMT II dickings as that has trap doors that kick you right out of the dungeon.

The only thing I said about it was dead multiplayer and that's factual. Tower of Mirages separated and isolated all the online players so they can no longer reach each other and it eventually died.
