Literally Ganondorf and most variations of Ganon, the problem is that Nintendo utilizes his threat as the main villain rather poorly. This could be solved if we actually occasionally fought him with his armies during several key events throughout the game, and if towns could actually be periodically raided by said armies - but nope. Too much work for Nintendo.

Well Skyloft came from the Sealed Grounds, it's why there is a hole there and the Statue of Hylia ends up there as well. It's a weird trick based on how you jump off Skyloft to Hyrule below that you don't actually see the proper perspective on the areas.

Either way it is, it matches up perfectly. Then you factor in the fact that there is a connecting path to Termina (not a warp) and that things become distorted and twisted when entering it, how the Ocarina of Time can't actually make a timeline from these events, only reset the world (since it already exists).

It's a highly possible theory.

I like the whole idea, but I have to play devil's advocate for a moment and point out that there is potentially a warp. Link falls into a stump, and the world goes psychedelic. It could be a warp, or it could be a side effect of becoming a Deku Scrub, but the walking distance to Clock Town is very very short from where he started in the woods.

I've been playing Phantom Hourglass for the first time recently after putting it off for nearly a decade (got it when it came out but had only played it a few hours back in the days).

I must say I found the controls to be a bit awkward at first but now that I've gotten used to it it's been pretty fun so far. Wind Waker is one of my favorite Zelda so getting back into the same world/setting is quite nice and nostalgic. The combat system isn't the best but it's far from being terrible either. While the sword doesn't always do what you want it to using the items with the stylus is smooth and enjoyable. The 3D is rather cute too, given it's a DS game.

If like me if you had put off Phantom Hourglass because of the stylus centered kind of gameplay do yourself a favor and push through it a bit, I'm sure you'll find yourself having fun after a while too.

It's rather funny that I ended up having maxed out rupees rather early in the game too (9999) simply because I had a bunch of treasures and extra ship parts I could sell for 50 / 800 rupees each, it was absurd. Even after buying all the expensive items I could find in different shops so far I'm still at 7000+ rupees right now, I doubt I'll ever be in need of money ever again.

You can get through most of the redone parts in a minute or two if you know where to go, so the Temple of the Ocean King never bothered me. Just make sure to mark stuff on your map if you have to so you don't have to wander around the dungeon a second/third+ time.

It's been my experience so far as well, I haven't been bothered either. As for writing stuff on the map, I do that from time to time yeah, it's a fun addition to the game.

There's that one time where I had to check a walkthrough though, when they expect you to know you need to close your DS to print the seal on your map... I doubt I was the only one, or maybe I'm dumb I don't know.

I'll get around to play PH and ST again throughout my Zelda replays, unfortunately I've been putting Great Bay off. Finished up the Sea Snakes/Eggs and got a couple heart pieces yesterday only for the emulator to freeze up on me and lose all that progress so I haven't bothered with it today, annoyed me greatly for an already annoying area.

I'd highly recommend using that map for the final lower portions of the game. I think it's B7-B10? It's arguably the most complicated part of the temple and can be done relatively quickly, but it's easy to forget where you're supposed to go.

I thought the map was a pretty cool addition to the game in PH and ST. I liked being able to mark hidden areas I couldn't access yet so I'd remember to check back later. Otherwise I probably would have needed a guide. It definitely wasn't required but it made the game way easier.

Saria actually was. It was very clear she had a crush on Link and she's the only person, literally the only person he tries to explain himself to and why he's bigger now and why so much time has passed and she realizes that as a Sage they can't live in the same world anymore, she knew he was always Hylian. Hell despite her friendzoning herself when he first leaves, a Kokiri mentions that she still defended him for 7 long years after Mido said he killed the Deku Tree and that they should have listened to Saria because now she's gone too.

Saria was very clearly the love interest, Miyamoto just didn't want her to eclipse Zelda so he tried to keep her relocated to as little as possible and to separate the two best he could. While he succeeded in that, he failed in having her not eclipse Zelda.

Ilia is a different story, TP Link was relatively fine knowing she was safe and all and just let it be, his face at the end when she came back to life and ultimately broke the mirror was just pure shock, and they have quite a bit of dynamic and facial expressions (however poor they are on TP Link) as the game progresses and especially when fighting Ganon and all of his reactions then and her sacrifice to save him and Zelda.

I mean ultimately they both OoT and TP Link leave Saria and Ilia behind for future adventures, they're Heroes, it's their life, whether they're recognized for it or not sadly.

Miyamoto stopped having as much impact once Majora's Mask came around and Aonuma started helping out. He still helped out with all of them obviously and still does, but he progressively helps out less and less. It's likely that it was one of Aonuma's decisions to have Midna and Linebeck and such, whereas Miyamoto could have made the decision for ST Zelda so Linebeck in that game wouldn't eclipse her.

As much as people like to shit on Aonuma, I do think he tries to vary Zelda up and try new things all around, whereas Miyamoto is just focused on the same old constantly and it just being all about Zelda, Link, and Ganondorf solely and no other characters get any love whatsoever.

Miyamoto just wants to keep bringing back the old because he doesn't want to strive and create something truly new, which Aonuma at least tries to do.

I never fully got everything in the game, I got all the masks and stuff though as a kid, I've been going through doing all the heart pieces, bottles, optional stuff, etc. for all of the games, barring the camera in LA that just slipped my mind completely.

I was doing good with Great Bay, had to switch plugins for the scarecrow heart piece at Snowhead, and the game just crashed and I hadn't saved it since I did all the sea snakes/zora eggs, got a few heart pieces, the beaver stuff, etc. So my annoyance to do it again has kept me from redoing it.

Going through MM3D right now, and it feels a little overwhelming with all the shit you can do at once, it really helps add pressure to the three day limit, so far my only major complaint is how they replaced the timer with just a bar, but it does work better as far as functionality goes. I do admit though, my memory made the timer look a lot prettier than this.

OoT Zelda might be the biggest fuck up in the entire series. For all the good she wanted to correct and do at the end of OoT, she even manages to massively fuck that up, instead of resetting the events (like in MM), causes Hyrule's destruction (again), fucks the Hero of Time's life up massively, and rips him away from the people he grew up with and tossed into an alternate universe/timeline.

OoT Zelda is a plague. Hylia is incompetent and the real villain of the series.

It always perpetuates the cycle by empowering one entity with evil (Ganon, Demise, etc,) one entity that maintains balance (Zelda) and one entity that restores cycles if the first one sprawls out of control (Link.) Why would it be the final nail in the coffin? Zelda was originally supposed to be a "fantasy" adventure where in fact all of the "magic" turned out to be some Clarke's Three Laws kind of deal. Like some weird Chrono Trigger/Alex The Kid kind of deal where Link would travel between the "magical" dark ages and a futuristic utopia. And the Triforce was actually some weird reality-bending tech created by god-ayylmaos. That is, before the idea was completely canned.

And yet now, technology is becoming increasingly prevalent in the series over the years to the point where even Aonuma is even outright stating that all of the "magic" in BoTW is actually technology. They're finally returning to that scrapped Clarke's Laws concept with this game; it seems like it's actually happening now. So why not go all out with it?

We're getting robots, we're getting fucking cryo-pods and even Ganon has been transformed into a formless, Giygas-like cloud of dark "magic" that's capable of corrupted guardians and other bots. Sounds like he's become a magitech super-AI or a virus to me. If old-world technology vs new-world nature is going to be a huge theme in the game, what better way than to make the 3 big characters of the franchise embody this technology theme as they're thrown into a post-apocalyptic world that's been dominated by nature? Seems like common sense to me and the kind of gig that Nintendo usually follows through when it comes plotlines in Zelda and the like.

Well some are still made and properly forged. Lokomo Sword, Phantom Sword, the Four Sword as well in all likelihood. Then you got Majora's Mask and the Fused Shadow, they're weapons.

Really it's only the Master Sword, Dark Master Sword, and Trident of Power and all of those only because of Fi and Ghirahim, both of which won't exist after awhile. Fi seems to be gone by OoT, while Ghirahim still exists until FSA.

You also got that Light Sword the Ancient Sages used.

It takes place during the Unification War and how he comes to understand the Triforce and defends the Gerudo people from the Hylians brutal onslaught of the other races and forcing them to bend the knee. Could also tie into the Interloper War having been before that and this is their reason for trying to unite the kingdom under their all powerful rule. The end of the game is ultimately Ganondorf 'swearing loyalty' to the King, with the scene right after him looking at Zelda/Link through the window.

And I just made an exciting game premise that'll never happen, fuck me.
