Hi,

I want to resub for Legion and finally play a hunter for the first time. I feel that 12 years after the game released, it would be time to try one.

1) Is there a go-to race for hunters that beats other races? I wanted to go female NE for aesthetic reasons, but if there was a race that was simply better than all others, I'd like to know.

2) What would be some essential hunter add-ons?
I haven't played the game in 3 years and only have the barebones installation right now, I don't have ANY add-ons whatsoever.

3) Which professions do Hunters usually take?
I always went with 2 gathering professions so I could sell shit, but maybe some professions have access to unique stuff a hunter MUST have?

Anyone else having trouble casting Innervate as a druid?

It seems really clunky, says I'm out of range until I'm right next to them, seems to have a casting time.

I tried putting it on a mouseover macro but then it just didn't work at all.

I know you have to face the target, but the spell in general just seems really clunky to activate, what am I doing wrong?

Casual PvP (BGs, World etc)
T1 Master poisoner is shit, because 40% dmg increase doesn't work on envenom and deadly poison is trash anyway. 20% increase for wound and crippling doesn't seem to be worth it. Might be useful with agonizing poison+deadly brew+creeping poison/system shock. Most of your damage are bleeds, so Hemorrhage is really helpful.
T2 Subtefuge has no competitors - it allows you to cheap shot and garrote, go neilyo mode and cs/garrote everyone and increases garrote dmg as well. Shadow focus got nerfed, vanishing for stalker buff is pretty suicidal, especially without preparation.
T3 Your choice really. Vigor allows for smoother openers and overall game, Deeper Stratagem increases dmg for rupture (big), envenom (kinda low) and longer kidney. Downside is that you need to generate more CPs to benefit from this talent.
T4 Nothing changed, Elusiveness>Cheat Death>>>>>>>>Leeching. If you want you can play Cheat Death anyway. Most of the time you die 3 secs later anyway, like it used to be.
T5 Internal Bleeding.
T6 Agonizing Poison might work as mentioned earlier. Exsanguinate allows you to burst even more (garrote, rupture, internal bleeding, hemo into exsan).
T7 All choices are viable. Venom Rush grants more energy overall, MfD allows finishers on demand (like focus kidney for example), DfA is nother gap closer and boosts your dmg a little bit (envenom doesn't hit so hard as it used to it seems).

1)Not really, since WoD they´ve been trying to make races quite irrelevant when it comes to either PvP and PvE, and so far they have made it happen, more than ever on Legion. The best way to pick a race is honestely either by what you like or by what minor race traits gives you (Dwarven archaelogy, human reputation, etc.)

2) Its honestely up to you. And what you focus on. As for PvE I would recomend Exorsus raid tools, weakauras, DBM & GTFO. But those are generi PvE addos. As a matter of fact our raid leader (we´ve been 13/13M for months) is a hunter and Only uses those generic addons. Addons DO HELP in performance, but in the end is all up to player skill.

3) 2 gathering professions is a good gold maker if you are willing to give up a fast levelling to 110 in legion and you want to spend the first week (s) focusing solely on farming herbs and ore. Keep in mind as time goes by gathering professions tend to lose value, until they peak again with new content/expansion. If you want something that might help you but wont be a make it or brake it the most common pick is Leatherworking (you can craft gear and mounts with it) & Skinning (You get the reagents requiered for Leatherworking)

There should be streams for certain kinds of fish that are based on time and not a number of caught fish.

This WOD change is pretty awful. The flesh idea is okay, as well as the bait, but it's ultimately pretty pointless and deters people from actually fishing because it takes up a ridiculous amount of bag space.

I haven't played an MMO game before Kronos, now that I hit level 60 and did a bunch of vanilla endgame shit, I'm thinking of moving onto retail.

I did the level 20 trial as a Worgen, and quite enjoyed it. The polish, visuals, lore, etc were quite nice, but all my friends are telling me there are a bunch of issues with retail such as ded PvP, dungeon queues, etc. Would it be worth it to buy Retail at this point? I enjoyed it, it did have a lot of handholding but that seems to be the case for most MMOs on the market. I've sampled some MMOs before but everything either seems like a really shitty WoW clone or gook garbage.

I don't really care for the "DANK MLG PVP POWERLEVEL/TWINK" bullshit that my friends are into with vanilla anyways. I think I spent half my time in Vanilla just fishing and skinning.

I do enjoy PvP, but I feel like my friends are jaded vets who have years of gametime into this game. While I do agree things like garrisons and class de-specialization are pretty glaring issues, I can overlook dead world PvP. Vanilla feels janky as fuck, and the difference between playing warrior in vanilla compared to retail was fucking night and day.

I just want an MMO to enjoy, but I feel part of that does depend on my friends. They absolutely loathe retail and won't touch it, and I don't want to just abandon them. At the same time they do get quite pedantic and sperg over the smallest shit.

Just faction changed back to Horde after spending all of WoD as alliance to play with friends. This feels so much better. How can anyone like the Alliance?
