Almost all grind is RNG-based, and the grinds that aren't are generally even more shitty than the ones that are.
There are systems in place to weigh the RNG in your favor within the game and checking the palico boards takes literally 2 minutes between quests when solo hunting.

Monster Injections.

You can create them by boiling down excess parts, after that they can be equipped and used during battle.

Like arts and wystones, a gauge fills up as you fight and once it's full you can inject the mutation into yourself to gain different benefits based on the monster you created it from.

e.g, The Zinogre injection will envelop your hunter in a shield that constantly deals electric damage to monsters for a short time.

The Rathalos injection will give you a colossal damage boost for about 10 seconds but also causes your sharpness to shit itself and go down to orange afterwards.

Is anyone else finding mhgen miles easier than 4u?

Besides monsties dropping dead unexpectedly sooner than usual, I'm noticing things like Uragann's chin slam doesnt have the same long reach, his rolls are shorter, and he doesnt roar stun>chin slam during the stun if you were under him.

I've just made the jump into HR so im hoping things pick up or im dropping shock traps in every zinogre fight. Also that Narkakos fight was pretty underwhelming after having a DPS race like Jhen or Dalamadurr. Those required you to know your shit and go ham with purpose, now I feel like im just rushing things.

Is the second fight any better? Are there any inflated health monsties at all? (Im sure Capcom is trolling me because offline surprise mitszune quest took me a full hour)

Desire sensor seems very lenient in Generations.
Completed Fated Four for the first time (LR gear, hammer) and got four plates from it.

Nothing even seems to require plates.

Does bombing + blast weapon prowler worth it? I recently found probably the best bombing palico, but I don't know if it's useful playing with it. Here's some of his moves:

Blunt builds are nice just because they're so easy to set up. Massive green bar weaps are relatively simple on the mats, and you just need two fairly easy to get skills. Overall you're probably better off with a natural maxed out sharpness weapon, but that's just minmaxing that isn't strictly necessary.

It's EXTREMELY easy to stay in/lock into orange heat which makes you motions ~the same (a couple motions are 1-3 stronger) as 4U GL. Remember as well that you get the bonus even when not locked in so it's not hard to sit around in red for a while until you have an opening to full burst > WF combo.
Dragon's Breath is really great because it will put you at max heat even if you fuck up and lock it at minimum. It also buffs your shelling, which is nice.
Blast Dash is really really great for Normal because it closes the distance and goes straight into a slam, for other shell types you could consider the Absolute Readiness art instead since the slam isn't as big a draw.

I think the barrier for entry for GL is even higher this game because you have to manage and deal with heat but overall the weapon feels much more satisfying to play correctly.

Also if you only need one art Adept's perfect block lets you counter with a total MV of 90 + full reload and lets you full burst/WF after. Pretty fucking silly.

Did they tweak hitboxes in gen? Specifically for tigrex? I swear something is off about him.

I can stand right in front of him as he charges and dodge any direction to avoid it, no adept or evasion skill. The only time I could do that before was if I rolled directly under his wings and he lifted them to run. Also attacks against his head seem to be missing when I'm sure they would normally be hitting him.

...Or maybe I'm just getting better at evading and not giving myself enough credit? I don't know, but this seems odd to me.

No, 350~ is probably good. You won't get oneshot by hellblade glav tail spin but it'll still hurt a bunch. 400 means you'll probably take 40% or less from a tail spin. I've been running them at 370 def and at 400 you should be doing fine.

Just eat a tail spin if you aren't sure.

I'm using guild right now but I'm thinking about switching to adept because I don't find myself needing Dragon's Breath to keep my heat gauge locked at max and I don't think it's worth it for just the 10% shelling damage.
The perfect guard is really nice, the MV is huge, and it's important to remember that it's two attacks. The first is an upwards swing that full reloads and the second is the slam. You can just do the first attack if you're not confident in the opening or just want the reload.
I wouldn't be surprised if Striker gets the best times for this weapon as well.

What are the 2 best palico types to get if I don't really care about prowlers? A trapper and a healer?

How do I make prowler quests more tolerable? Takes forever to kill 10 minions. Do I just need the typical pierce boomerang setup, or do I actually have to level a cat up?

Sort of. S > L because at max level you only have 6 skill memory points.
1 for Boomerang Pro, 3 for Last Stand, 2 for Earplugs.
CuL would replace Earplugs in that setup but it's just not as much damage.
CuS is for when the DLC cat with the special World's Strongest skill comes out which is similar to Last Stand but only costs 2 slots. CuS is the best thing you can put in that 1 slot that was freed up, nothing else is any good.
