How am I supposed to beat the caterpillars?
I fight them with a wooden sword that does either 1 or 0 hp damage when they have 60 hp, and I only have 33% chance to hit them. They dodge most of my attacks, suffer no damage from half of my hits. I don't have enough money to buy a better weapon. The game starts me up with 100 gold.
Must be something I'm missing there, so what is it? The only other thing to do was the lamp oil fetch quest, that gets me neither gold or xp.

For CM3D2,

So I updated from 1.32.1 to 1.33 and now I'm getting a yotogi.stage -enum parse error leaving the game broken to where I'm stuck at a black screen.

I also found that the anniversary patch also creates the same error (when put into either 1.32.1 or 1.33) since it replaces the following files:
csv.arc, paths.dat, and script.arc

One of these is giving me the error, and seeing it's behavior and message, it is most likely a script error in the script.arc file.

Any helpful anons know how to fix this?

Key to dealing with encounter battles is checking the enemy groups units and skills, you can ckeck all of them by clicking enemies and mousing over. And then set your groups that can deal with them in their path. Also keeping terrain factors in mind. Also mix strong and mid tuer units so you get goodammount of medium strenght divisions. Weak division are almost good for nothing. Also use gear and titles to boost units strong points.
For group compositions there are hundreds of ways so come up your own as thats part of the fun. Using fomols as guards is kinda lol idea for me too, they do have good counter damage tho but I use them mainly in poison groups.
For spirits other spirit types and those that are strong against them can ignore the damage reduction so you want to use those
