I am looking at a period in which no new games to my liking are coming out and I am getting bored of Total War for the moment.

If you got bored then it's likely you'll get bored now. The game hasn't changed dramatically since launch. Some systems such as PvP have seen improvements over the years but nothing game changing.
Expansion didn't do a whole lot except add powercreep and more broken promises.
PvE content is still scarce unless you really like open world shit. Raids/Fractals have never and wont ever be updated as frequently as they should. Dungeons are a meme and have been dead for years.
PvP is better realised these days but matchmaking still blows and leagues are implemented in a very questionable way. Balance has been up and down since the expansion, mostly down.
WvW is more or less the same with a few improvements.
Unless you're a stickler for fashion wars and grinding skins the game wont hold your attention long. Give it a try but keep your expectations low.

Doesn't feel good to say those things. It might come across that I don't like the game but trust me, I do love GW2 and played it avidly up until a few months ago.
The problem with GW2 doesn't really stem from the game itself but more Anet's wishy-washy way of approaching development. Never have they quite found their footing when it comes to content creation. It's a damn shame because there's been moments of brilliance; raids are great, fractals have promise, specialisations are good on paper, and some living story content (marionette for example) was genuinely great.
It's a shame. GW2 feels like a missed opportunity. So much potential and none of it realised.

Goddamn it, i bought gw2 when HoT was released, and i loved it, until i hit level 80. Then i hit level 80 with another 3 characters because god fucking damn it is the game fun.

But at level 80 i feel like there's not much point to anything you know? Why would you craft? To get better items. But what would i get better gear for? I can do anything with my shit gear besides raids, and since i don't like joining guilds i won't raid anyway so fuck that.

Vanilla content is enough for casuals to get burned out before even entering HoT. It's also didn't even add depth to anything just more grinding and salads.
