Does a hacked 3ds require any maintenance from here on out?

Thinking of switching from rxTools to Luma but have some questions.
What happens to my emuNand? Will that still be used?
How does Luma work? Does it still use the emuNand or the sysNand?
How does it boot? Currently I have rxTools booting through ctrboot. Does that still work?

Is the save decrypted (that is, NOT from PowerSaves or grabbed directly from the "Nintendo 3DS" folder which would be named something like 00000000.sav)? If so, you can restore it as normal with JKSM. Just backup your current one first so it creates the folder structure on the sd.

you can make a folder on the hdd0 called updater or something like that and can just store the .pup in numbered folders.
Double check the folder name and starting number because I can't remember.

My old 3ds is on the newest firmware, so i can't install cfw on it.
I have been thinking about buying a new 3ds, and was wondering if it would be possible to install cfw on the new 3ds, then update it to the newest firmware and do a system transfere from the old 3ds to the new one.
This would allow me to keep all my old games, and get the benefits of the cfw.

They want you to boot into cfw mode now but you can just patch your shit to boot back in, what weirdo decided stacking cfw on top of legit again was a good idea.

To install stuff with FBI is it really just scanning the QR code?

When I do it within sysNAND9.2!FBI it gives me the 'invalid argument 7 cert signature or hash check failed' error. OK...
When I do it within emuNAND11!FBI it installs properly until the end but the game doesn't appear in home screen (sys and emu) and doesn't open from FBI (both too).

I ask because I want to move from Gateway to a9lh. I'm backing the only save I care, ORAS. The guide mentions to transfer saves:

An alternative to spending $50 on cubic ninja is to spend $20 on OOT3D used and powersaves for $20 from walmart. You'll need an SD card reader too, but that's part of the guide anyway. Feel free to return both of them if you want, but in my opinion, I'd hang onto powersaves just because of how convenient it is if you're a fan of pokemon or ACNL, or have any friends who play those games

Just wanting to confirm this. I'm on 10.7.0-37E with an old 3DS. Only games I got are Ocarina of Time and A Link between worlds. From what I've been reading there is no way for me to get into Homebrew because I need either another 3DS with homebrew or some whacky ass device called Powersaves for oothax to work, correct? Really mad right now because I was looking forward to finally getting into homebrew.

No, even that guide tells you you need an exploit game on 10.7. If you really don't want to get Powersaves or a different primary and can't loan a hacked 3DS (or any <=10.5, you can install oothax from regular kickass homebrew, no need to downgrade), all you can do is wait for Browserhax to be updated.

10.7 Browserhax will likely be short-lived because you can no longer bypass the version check. The good news is that the 10.7 browser is the same as the 11.0 browser so they can't really shut it down straight away, you'll have a week or two.

Wasn't sure whether to ask here or on /emugen/, but I'm having a problem with Pokemon Fire Red on a 3DS. I've installed the Fire Red .cia and it launches and plays fine, but this message pops up on the title screen and the game cannot save.

I've looked around for the fix and it says to set the save type to Flash 128K. I'm not sure how to go about doing that on the 3DS. Do I have to use certain settings in the GBA footer generator or something?
