This is usually the circles I wind up arguing against angry Nasus players. Look I like Nasus. I don't like what Riot did to him to have him be outmatched by Vayne.

You are bringing up laning arguments when I was mentioning splitpushing which you aren't doing during laning.
Other splitpushers tend to also be able to do other things. Nasus tends to lose to them at that point. He's immobile, and the old season 2 definition, so that doesn't just mean "dashes with longer than 6 second cooldown". His 30 minutes of Q farm is still outclassed by %hp damage (on Vayne and a lot of other newer champs)

There are no situations where its worthwhile to play him over some other option. And this isnt a "MUH LCS" argument. I think there is a place in the game still for things like Top Bard, Jungle Twitch, etc.

Which is more irrelevant now than ever in League of Mobility creep that has been trucking for 4 years now. Nasus simply cannot keep them in place long enough for what used to be an "amazing" slow to actually do anything. Its the reason he was banished to splitpushing in the first place. To 'bully' other immobile lone tanks, of which there aren't many, and usually get packed to the brim with stats for simply existing.

Literally nothing has improved for Nasus since season 2. Go look at the changelog. Every single ability and passive he has now is worse than it was in season 2 bar the Q. And everyone is more mobile, and most have more stuff crammed into their damn passives, and there are so many more low cooldown slows, and so much %hp damage.

And I mean its going to be 4 champs in a lane at the 2-3 minute mark. Get kills, push turret, deathball all the other objectives with the lead. A lot of ADCs are simply going to vanish because they contribute nothing at 2-3 minutes into the game.

That's your main problem. You're looking at Vayne as a "replacement" for Nasus. They fill entirely different roles. Nasus is an anti-carry split-pushing distruptor with potential for infinite damage while Vayne is a squishy mobile hyper-carry, while her damage is high - it can never reach the levels of terror a minion-fed Nasus can.

She can't do the same things he can, and he can't do the same things she can.

Also, all the mobility in the world isn't going to save you from a 99% slow with swifties and a trinity force plus a Ghost, unless that mobility is to get away from a Nasus into a team. At which point, he can use that speed to get right back into his lane and take down towers in 2 hits - as is his role.

The better comparison here is Vayne vs Quinn, in which Quinn forcibly bird-rapes Vayne in terms of utility in the top-lane.

Her volley takes up the entire lane, with an ER it's on a 2.8 cooldown or something shorter than that, it causes crits so it regens mana for you so it's literally free, and she has one of the strongest ults in the game for utility. Vayne top isn't that good. It's borderline griefing in most circumstances. It is STILL better than Nasus.

This roundabout argument about Nasus I am getting just justifies Riot leaving him as an absolute bottom of the barrel trashcan. Presumably silvers arguing that even though he is worse now than at literally any point in league history, it is fine because he can farm Qs for 60 minutes (where his flat damage FINALLY outdoes %hp damage) and still have to splitpush anyway.

It took years for Riot to finally get around to trying to fix Nasus, and they literally, factually, objectively wound up making him worse. Riot needs to refund the IP of people who bought this silver gatekeeping champion.
