Anyone else having problems just starting it? I'll launch it and see "running" in my steam library for a brief moment then it'll disappear. When trying to launch from the executable it says I'm missing api visual C++, so I've tried to reinstall that, but then I get unexpected error from visual c++. Probably, yeah. Carodonts are cool, Icthysians are an amphibious race without a crowded-looking face in their sprite, Slimes are adorable.

I don't get the problem with Avali either, I have no attraction to them or anything furry but it seems like they had a lot of work put into them, they have cool-looking racial items, weapons especially, and are one of the few with an entirely different body shape.

Those sound like opinions. Terraria fell flat for me. It did have more unique mobs, but the combat was worse. Armor is cosmetic and these are 2D games. Terrarias unique armors aren't very nice to look at. The accessory glut is uneccassery. The biomes you run into would either be very large or very small, and you'd shift biomes underground. The only thing terraria has that might be a good addition is traps. Also the thing with night and zombies spawning is dumb.

Like, at the very beginning. Once they start using unique attributes they don't stop. If Starbounder's still accurate, the tier 5 and 6 armors just change basic stats, while in Terraria you get armors that will give you brief invincibility when you hit an enemy, stealth when you stand still, or make it so for each shot you have a chance that you won't use up ammo.

Coal hasn't worked for years. You need liquid erchius fuel, which you get on moons. In order to go to moons, you need the backpack atmospheric generator, which you need tungsten to make. You can't get tungsten on your starting planet, but you can cruise around your system without using fuel (this was more intuitive when fixing the ship's thrusters and FTL drive were separate quests) So go to a planet with tungsten, pick some up, make your backpack, and get some fuel.

OR you can download the mod I made ages ago - I haven't tested it for this version yet, but it should work.
