Books of Sorrow as a whole are incredible.

But there's like three of them that describe Crota basically being a little douche canoe who has no idea what he's doing and singlehandedly allows the Vex to invade a throne space.

One of the more subtle points of the BoS is that since they're all immortal every reference to a measurement of time is something insane like centuries or milennia. So Crota cuts open a portal to Vex space and they pour in for literally hundreds of years until Oryx shows up, kicks them out, picks Crota up by the leg and tosses him through the portal.

Just a moment of hilarity within a crazy serious epic.

I watched this lore video recently, and it was mentioned many of the Warlock/Titan orders gave their lives in the Battle of Twilight Gap to save the Last City. It kinda made me think what if the end of Destiny puts our Guardians in a huge battle that might wipe us out again.

I kinda stopped playing Destiny about a couple months ago. I still occasionally log on once a week to get the Sterling boxes, but that's about it.

All three of my characters are 333, 334, and 335. I've got full Taken armor on my 335, and the other two have full Spektar. I have all Iron banner armor, and maybe 80% of all the exotic weaponry.

Is there any reason to play now? Or should I wait for the new expansion? I can't pre-order it because I'm an Xbone-pleb

It makes the game seem fuller, anon. Putting in some random made up name achieves the same effect. Saying Thalor was good at beating ass in Crucible means jack shit story wise. But it makes the lore that little bit more full, imo. I completely agree on the first part, I'd want to learn more about Saint-14 and Vell Tarlowe and all the others. But I feel like that would make much, much more sense in Destiny 1. By the time Destiny 2 comes out, if it is a continuation of 1, the legends would have changed. I get the idea of wanting to make the Guardian the main character, the problem is that its an MMO-like game where everyone is the "Guardian" From a dev point of view its probably a balancing point to make sure that Slayer and little timmy random, feel like they are both legend in the game. Thats the problem with making our guardians so fucking powerful, its the whole "when everyones super no one is" thing. So putting in the line "A guardian stood against oryx and won" into the fgame works because we all are that guardian. Putting in a line like "Legends say a certain hunter stood against oryx and won" makes little timmy random go. "No I stood against oryx on my titan wtf?" Theres really no good way of adding references to that game that come from community unless its more low key stuff. And who wants to be known as that dude who was good at the crucible amongst countless champions.

I get what you're saying and I agree for the most part but personalky I think that giving a name to the legend solves the problem. Like they say Kabr faced the Vex alone or whatever, right? So have a little line somewhere that says like "Joe stood faced Oryx on his own and lived to tell the tale" or whatever. They can't really say that Joe killed Oryx cause thousands of Guardians have but those thousands haven't faced Oryx on their own and survived. If that makes any sense.

And being a God in Crucible is actually pretty cool, man. Being a Guardian alone makes you super strong but being the Guardian that stands on top of other guardians? That shit is amazing.

Good question. These are my two main classes on the respective characters.

Personally, I do Striker. Titan skating, juggernaut/shoulder charge, lightnings, and a really heavy punch not to mention a "No stop I win" super allow me to really play aggressive, which I prefer.

Nightstalkers are just as good with the wombo combo, though its been nerfed, the hunter jump (excellent for jumping and shooting TLW and being really slippy in CQC), a No-Fun-Allowed super, and an insta-bail ability. It pretty much compliments my passive play more.

Strikers are aggressive, Nightstalkers are arguably passive.
Do what suits your playstyle.
