I'd say normal into true, because it's easier to just play the story through once just enjoying it, then going for the 100% completion and true ending on your NG+. That's how I did it at least, it's a lot easier with all the extra things the NG+ gives you. Besides, the VII normal ending is a bit like the V endings, the non-true ends are alright, but they encourage you to try again to get the happiest (true) ending.

As far as giants go there's a lot of different appeals at play to the point where there are people only interested in one particular facet of it. There's an inherent power difference between a larger and smaller party, to begin with. That's usually the basis of it all, be it used benevolently or more actively. For example someone could find a giant being kind and caring attractive because they're so incredibly powerful yet not doing anything malicious with it, while at the same time there's the possible appeal of a rampaging giant abusing their power to no end. When they actually win, Kurome takes the opportunity to use her powers and the shift period to grant the wishes of Affimax, and cause chaos by making the Third the new leaders of Gamindustri. The CPUs still manage to defeat Affimojas with the Gold Third, and everyone's memories are restored when the gem he was given by Kurome is shattered.[/spoilers].

-Arc H. Kurome finally gets the whole console, and opens a portal from the Zero Dimension to Gamindustri. She breifly captures and brainwashes the CPUs, and intends to drown Gamindustri in monsters and delusions for "betraying" her. She is defeated when Uzume and Kurome re-join each other. Uzume and her monster friends move the the Hyperdimension.

Uzume is born late in Gen 5, effectively the first in the 6th generation. By this point only Lowee and Lastation (maybe Neo Geo) are the only other nations around. This is inferred by the dream sequences in V-II. Only Blanc and Noire have a dream of the past and Vert just takes a nap

Uzume's troubles happen and she erases herself from history. At this point Gamindustri takes a slight turn from our own universe where Sega still exists.

At this point due to Uzume's memory fuck, things get a little tricky. Remember she managed to change entire nation's governments in 7 days, make people forget CPUs and think of four random makers as their leaders.


After Uzume:

Uranus is born. Bluzume specifically mentions this

During this time the Diety of Sin rises up and Uranus fights it with three other CPUs (Xbox, PS2, Gamecube,) All but Uranus lose their lives, but Uranus is now in spiritual form. She is remembered as an ancient CPU, but that could also have been a result of Uzume's tinkering

Neptune and the others are likely born as the result of said battle.

A number of years pass

Neptune and Nepgear meet Compa and IF

Diety of Sin rises again. The CPUs and Nepgear try to stop it and fail

mk2 happens. Nepgear meets the CPU candidates, the sisters rescue the CPUs, DoS is defeated

Time passes

True end - They all take a bath together.

V-II was really world building so all those details are slotted in where they belong. Also while the events in Victory happened to Nep, in the Hyperdimension world that was like a week for them.

And yet it still won the generation in the end for anyone that actually plays video games. Wii sold a ton and had a shit attachment rate because none of the games were any good, plus its audience was a bunch of people who were perfectly satisfied with Wii Sports. 360 got no support at all after a couple years whereas the PS3 continued going strong and getting a ton of great games years later, especially after Microsoft was no longer bribing devs to try to shoot down PS3 exclusives. The architecture was a mess but devs still wanted to make good PS3 games a hell of a lot more than 360 ones thanks to nippon glory. Plus, near the end of its life, people actually had the console somewhat figured out. It just took a while.

The PS3 is basically Sony's version of the Saturn. Every bad corporate decision Sony ever made came together to form a gigantic duecebox that turned into a money sink. If it weren't for the 360 red ring thing that might've been the end for Sony.

Also it took seven years before anyone really got a handle on the PS3. If the 7th generation wasn't such an aberration the PS3 would've collapsed long before any great games were released.
