You can also go Corsair3(it isn't that good), or maybe Doppel1 for Deeds of Valor if you plan to AA/Cyclone. Could take a look on Highlander as well, but since Skyliner is being heavily nerfed I'm not sure if thats worth anymore.

The build that you want is pretty limited in the game right know, since none of the classes synergy well with the type of end game content that we have.

As for R8, the only thing that seems to use Sword is Murmillo.

Everyone playing right now thinks the game is bland on both fronts. PvP being too laggy and meta being too bland and Pve is just a buggy ET. Exploits left and right. Unless they somehow intentionally added glitches to the most simple aspects of the game like can't do quests or something, the only direction is up. Even this event is a positive and IMC will likely increase the number of events in the future. If anything, this is an indictation that at the very least, they have our interests in mind. Well for Subzero Shield's additional reflect damage based on shield defense, yes, along with the elemental damage. With every patch, they're improving things, very slowly and very little but nonetheless, things are getting better. Might take another year or so but I'm committed. Even if shit gets fucked up in the patches like maybe character selection isn't working again or dungeon bugs, they'll figure it out eventually, that they need to watch out for things like this. The human spirit is strong and I don't believe literal monkeys are running IMC. They'll learn and get better and we'll learn to deal with it.

As for keeping the population alive, then that's on us. I think that 30% of the current population of TOS is made up of tosg, however casual the users are. So we do have impact on the game. If we continue to be negative about it, the population will dwindle down to ... reddit and the steam forum users, which will turn me away from the game. So if having a little hope and optimism is all I can do as well as the fact that that is basically the minimum that I want to do, then sure.
