I've been here for days. No idea how many. There's no sun in this place, just that swirling, red vortex, staring down at me. The only thing I have to tell the passing of time is my growing thirst.

It's warm here, though the wind blows biting and cold. The dust it carries burns my eyes and chest. No matter where I am, I can faintly smell the scent of death. A soldier left unburied. An animal left to rot.

But, there is life here, if you can call it that. I've spoken with the few who haven't tried to kill me on sight. They speak in tongues foreign to me, but they manage to meek out an existence here. Somehow.

I've slain what some would call gods, and I've stolen treasures from the servants of Molag Bal himself. I'm getting closer to the Imperial City, now, if you can call it that. I will leave this place, and neither man nor deadroth will stop me. For now, I'm growing weary, and my legs ache. This next outcropping looks like as "good" a place as any to set up camp.

I downloaded a ton of mods off of the tesg website, and for some reason this happened. I can throw the mods in a pastebin if that helps, but first I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this issue? I tried deleting the fonts folder and booting it up again, but it results in the same problem.

It's incredible to me that there's an apothecary in this place. We talked shop for a while, and I bought some magicka potions. First time playing the game? Easy. Just enjoy playing the game. If it is your first time and it's just not your thing, you're probably not going to get into it. W/e. Find another game.

Second time? Different race, a few mods, make a few different decisions (of the few decisions available to make in Skyrim tbf), probably discover a few random encounters you didn't have or don't remember the first time.

Third time? I think everyone encounters the problem you have by then. No amount of mods let you stick with the storylines or exploring the map for too long because you've exhausted that, so you look for new novelty in gameplay and keep starting over. It just doesn't have that much replay value unless you're talking years apart between playing it all the way through again.

No, I'm talking about how weapons and armor materials works in the form of upgrading, and not sidegrades. Sure, Steel Armor weighs less than Ebony and a good smith can make it almost as good as upgraded Ebony, but for things like Dwarven, how it's both heavier and less protective than Orcish, it's a hassle. I just feel like it should get a bonus for being demanding in weight, like being stunned less, or something. Orcish weapons are similar, weak for their weight, so give them bleeding or something. Some unique thing that each material type has so you get some benefit for using it over something else, and if you have a playstyle you could gravitate toward it. I want weapons to be more than just a model with DPS and weight.

It's not about the weight, it was about the tradeoff. I don't want every weapon grade to be the same, I want each grade to be worth using if it's what you want. Maybe Daedric Armor heals you as you kill things, and Iron Armor doesn't slow you down. Maybe brutal Orcish weapons cause slight bleeding, while Dragonbone weapons stun people easier. The stats are fine as is, it just needs effects to make them feel more than a mask for stats.

Some of the quests are pretty good so far as Skyrim quests go, for the theme of the questline. The beginning and ending and the chore of getting all the footholds and upgrades for the guild HQ was awful though.
