By the way, welcome to /mmg/! What did you think about X6, and have you played any of X7? If you haven't played it yet, I swear Command Mission and X8 are a lot better.

Well, I was expecting more gameplay talk or at least some lore. X6 wasn't as bad as I expected, currently doing a Zero run. The parts system isn't as confusing as X5's.

However, Gate Stage 2 can go choke on one.

As for X8, I completed that several times and 100% on everything but the navigators (yeah they're cute, but no way in hell am I grinding for downgraded versions of the MC's weapons).

Still have no idea when I'll start Command Mission.

Boobeam Trap was it's name. The boss requires strategy to be defeated, as the player can only use seven Crash Bombers, five being to the guns and two of the breakable blocks that are in front of two guns (although an accurate shot can destroy the top-most gun and the left-most wall with one bomb, thus saving a Bomb for later, but this is not recommended for beginners to attempt). The other blocks don't need to be destroyed, being possible to pass by them with Item-1 and accurate jumps. If the player is willing to intentionally die at the boss, it's also possible to defeat it using only five Crash Bombs in their second visit. To do this, the player must arrive at the boss room and destroy several blocks, two being at least the left-most wall and bottom-right wall, then get defeated. After which, they would refill their weapon energy on the enemies between the checkpoint and the boss room. Upon entering the boss room again, any walls they destroyed their first time around will still be gone. This does not apply if it was the player's last life and he/she uses a continue.

Thanks for doing your part at least. Some people have blamed sites like Sonic Scanf for the comic's cancellation but if that were true their Sonic comic wouldn't still be going. Truth be told that's what happens when you don't make your product available enough to meet demand.

The only way you can get the comics in Europe was by digital download. If you lived anywhere else you were shit outta luck. Furthermore, Archie was notoriously terrible about getting their trade volumes out on time.

Oh, the timing, though! Recently finished Mega Man X6 and was searching for some nice manga to read on the weekend, and here I go. On topic of hard bosses: I am a motherscrewdriver for Nightmare Mother, because screw this thing! I've spent like 5 hours trying to beat her/it/whatever as Zero without subtanks and parts. In the end, I did it and it felt good, and thanks to the experience I've completed the rest of the game with relative ease. But I'm still hurt physically and emotionally, so excuse me for my little rant.

Aside from some really annoying stages, I think X6 was better than X5. There's something about X5 that makes it feel empty for me.Could be the music, stages, or whatever. Didn't feel the same as X4.

But X6 was really fun to play. I really like collecting upgrades.

Allow me to add my cents to X series discussion :) Didn't play Mega Man games during my childhood (didn't stumble upon these games) so this is my first clears. I played all the classic series and first six games (and Xtreme spin offs) of X and I enjoyed all the games so far. They are all awesome in their own ways. Both X4 and X5 left strong impression on me. Personally I don't really have problems with Alia's codec calls in X5, though the decision they made in X6 is a wiser one. Really liked X6: the music is awesome, the story is intresting, japanese voice acting is cool, difficulty is manageable and there were even some improvements to game mechanics. There are some moments that could've been done better if they'd put more time and effort into it, though, the game has great potential. I understand, that at the time of its release X6 presented not exactly what people expected from a Mega Man X game based on previous experience, and on top of that everyone has their own opinion and tastes, but personally current me enjoyed this game. I'm looking forward to playing other games and series of the franchise and I'm sure I will find what to enjoy in every one of them. Yeah, Mega Man is that awesome!

Previous orator here. I agree with you. By "not what people expected" I've meant moments of questionable quality (a bit cheap in terms of difficulty level design, obvious translation problems). All the mechanics and familiar elements were there, but previous games were more smooth and polished, while X6 fell victim to the rush. Though the difficulty might be canonically explained as the result of Nightmare Effects. :) "Gate's diabolical traps" if you wish :) Actually, quite a menacing antagonistic mad (in both meanings) scientist we have here.

I worry about the cartoon's quality now. He's supposed to be co-writing for it but his entire twitter consists of political tweets and shit like this. I feel like we're gonna get a lot of stale stereotypes and it'll somehow be "progressive".

It was wrong of people to yell at him over the art direction of the show and send him death threats, and I know he's done some great work in the past with Deadpool and Ben 10, but we've all learned from Inafune that even our heroes can fuck up.
