Linkability is goverend by frame data, in this pic ryu could combo if he did a move after that started in 4 frames or less.
Cancelability is just a property some moves have. If a move is cancelable you can cancel the recovery (blue on image) into the start up of another move.
A chain combo is a series of normals that can cancel into each other.
