Tree is fairly straightforward but depends on whether or not you want to use other classes too. I'll wait on your response before crafting one.

Gear depends on level and comfort level.
You can jump into farming Ray weapons, which will require PD runs and XHAQs if you're 75/75, or can reach that soon.
A red katana as mentioned is really effective early on, but make sure to craft it and get the potential, which gives a huge chunk of damage. Way more than that 11* even.

For units, you can struggle through Cmode for 60k cmiles and get the units, or do Zieg COs for his own 11* units which will give you some much needed defense early on. Your goal is probably Saiki as a minimum, though there are alternative unit setups that sometimes require certain weapons to be effective.

You sound awfully assblasted, friend, if it's such a big issue to you organize a trigger party yourself or get prem, but I'll tell you now: trigger party doesn't guarantee Saiki drops at all, I've been in way too many where I came back with nothing at all.
On the other hand, I've gotten at least a couple Saiki drops from bonus and I've only completed it no more than 10 times.
You can always pick anything else like I said, there's been quite a few new sets released recently that are sidegrades to Saiki, or fall back to the one of the older sets I find XQ sets, negro and tian to be somewhat legit.

Gigur is an incredibly easy boss. He charges up and vocally telegraphs almost every single attack he does. He shouldn't be too hard to beat no matter what level.

What are the classes commonly considered bad?

When my character progression is locked behind time gated, schedule only EQ's, I will stop playing this game.

I will not sit around waiting for pops, I won't check twitters or schedules or base my life around them. I will simply stop playing until episode 5 or 6.

Bo/te is the best zanverse on breakable parts. Gu/te is best zanverse outside of wind weak/breakables. Te/ra is shifta+deband+wb+some other support techs slave. Br/gu is by far the best burst damage in the game by combining chain trigger and banish arrow. Can easily hit 10m+ (the maximum damage the damage records will show) on banish

Episode is an example of imbalance completely ruining the game, though.
You need some semblance of balance, like we have right now.
The main things that need to be done is nerfing FO's damage slightly because something so safe shouldn't be doing more or equal damage to unsafe melee.

Force also requires a much larger investment of both real and in-game money, as well as time. It SHOULD be the best class.
