So I just started just recently and as far as things go, I think my favorite trapper is Crow. His banter is hilarious and that "poking" from afar is great at messing with the monster.

This is whenever we can get into a game. Half the time me and my buds keep getting "lobby full" and kicked from the group or something. Hope this is fixed in the next few updates hopefully.

Cabot is fine if you have a burst assault like Lennox or Blitz. You're going to get a down if the monster focuses someone, but in exchange you'll chunk several bars of health and it'll be a worthwhile trade. For example if I'm running as Laz and I get focused, by the time I become incapped the monster is missing 5 bars of health just from that engagement alone.

So having spent almost my entire day on this stupid game I can safely say that I am having an absolute blast playing as hunter. I for the life of me however, have no idea how anyone can enjoy playing the monster. Maybe things will get better once I level up some more and get more perks, but between the constant planet scans and wonderfully annoying stuff like unlimited track darts or weapons that can slow you from a mile away, every game just feels like an uphill battle to an inevitable loss. What am I missing here?

Yes wealthy grandma of many hits does her absolute best damage when the monster isn't paying attention to her. Which is nice because most assaults cannot pull the monster off the other hunters so you are there pretty much to do damage. It is annoying against mobile monsters because there is a timer for reset and a single miss also resets. So you are playing a lot of catch up. A semi-stationary monster that lets her whip without resets?

Highest DPS in the game by far and she'll split your ass open like a turbogroid in a supermax.

I get that shooting the "white" clone doesn't actually hurt it and it is a decoy but if that clone does damage what fucking difference does it make? You have to get around the blender of death to get at the real one and if it pins you in the slightest the fucking Warith Stand just ORAOROAROAORAOROAORAOROAORAOROA my entire godamn health bar. At least with Goliath or Kraken I can see and hit the real one through it's attacks. That clone is its best weapons and shield and it doesn't seem to even have a weakness.

I can tell what is a decoy. The issue is that decoy does a metric shitfucketload of damage and since dumping damage to kill it is a waste and it is a rape tornado of damage. Even if Wraith throws out an obvious decoy it is still a hazard the team have to jump jet around. Giving that slippery cunt 4-6 seconds to reposition or warp away. It is basically fighting two monsters at once which both have the ability to snipe a hunter. Either through abducting or sheer fucking clone damage.

I don't know how a lennox would be able to keep up with a good gorgon. If it works for you great but I haven't figured it out. With gorgon traversal + web snare its hard for close range assaults to stick on her.

Also I don't think assault is the class that "counters". The entirety of all assaults kits are just ways to do dmg, they don't bring much utility to the monster fight. So the best assaults are the ones that can do the most consistent dmg.

EMET is a really controversial character on this board for some reason. That just goes to show how many new players there are in /evog/ I guess. He takes more effort and knowledge to play to a "standard" level than other medics, so in that regard he is worse, and there are a lot of bad EMET players in pubs for that reason. Trappers job is to track and CC the monster. Daisy is the second worst way to track the monster and harpoon traps are a decent CC against most monsters. Waggie gives up laying down 2 more harpoon traps for 30 DPS and 10 extra meters on the trigger radius.
