Despite the entire superstructure being 25mm thick (thin enough that 16" should overmatch it no matter the angle), shells frequently just bounce off, even when its flat broadside.

Not overpen, just bounce and do no damage.

It can also angle to fire all guns without having any risk of being citpenned by anything but Yamato. The entire belt remains at autobounce, and the stern and bow are too thick to overmatch.

How do I use the guns on the farragut effectively? I get 0 damage hits on BBs are almost every range, and against DDs the hang time is a nightmare.

High-tier DDs aren't supposed to do damage except fires on BBs, knifefights against other DDs trying to cap, and torps against retards who don't know how to WASD hack (very rarely).

You cap sometimes, smoke your BBs and spot for them, and otherwise sail around doing very little. It gets slightly better with Benson and Fletcher though. Gearing isn't much better than Fletcher.

Last, when unlocking the Mahan you'll notice that her guns are much less suited in the role of BB harassing because of the lower range preventing you from stealth firing effectively, unless you got the Concealment Expert upgrade which i suppose you haven't right now.
In contrast, she's the first USN DD able to invisitorp thanks to its 9.2 km range, so you're going to find yourself to be much more dependent on them.

So guys, today i've met a supertester Scharnhorst in the server and we fought over the course of 10 minutes, of course we were not alone and we didn't kept shooting one another for 10 minutes straight but i noticed something.

Her armor is godly, easily as good as Tirpitz one, she seems quite manouverable (top speed and acceleration didn't seem very consistent considering she had difficulty catching up with my Arizona), she's a bit smaller than Tirpitz and so is her superstructure.
However, her guns are just fucking hopeless, if i was just slighty angled her AP did pitiful damage or nothing at all, her rof couldn't help it and her multiple HE salvos couldn't lit a single fire and did unimpressive damage overall.
She's going to be disappointing in my opinion, i'm much more excitement for Dunkerque.

most BB's that get detonated only have 1 magazine go up and that's enough to fuck you. considering each barbett separates the turrets and their ammunition and they have the extra protection of the belt and being sunk below the water line its unlikely. truth is is that if a turret catastrophically detonates it wont detonate the others immediately because of the separation, but the ship will get blown in half anyway and then they will detonate. Also remember each of the magazine rooms for each turret are separate entities within their barbettes. most hits are going to occur there and then spread to the magazines. In truth having 3 turrets in close proximity is no more dangerous than having 2. It must be remembered the that point of the turret design was to make it easier to cluster better quality armor plates around the magazines because any hit to even one magazine would have been catastrophic to any other design anyway.
