Most major ops are pre-scheduled and posted in the /fsg/ group.

About some of the voting options:

as cool as the hind is, it'll probably be pretty ass in DCS if/when we get it. SAMs and MANPADs will eat it alive because it's designed to make strafing attacks rather than hover at standoff range and play tank-plinking. So the Hind is less God's Helicopter, more Apostle Helicopter.

I managed to fix it somewhat. It's still a little wonky but it's actually controllable and fairly easily flyable now.

I also managed to fix the problem with the gun not shooting anywhere near where the shkval was pointing.

There's still a problem with the cockpit clipping into the 3D model of the Hind but I'm trying to figure out why it won't let me just move it. If worse comes to worse the helo can just be autostarted or started hot and keybinds assigned to important stuff thats hard to see through the cockpit. Pic added to showcase what I mean.

When you're merged in a MiG-21 how do you guys get a radar lock? Should I switch to the beam mode or is that just for ground attack?

You can use the beam mode to place your pipper on a target and press the lock button to lock that up, I think.

Otherwise I just use the radar as standard. I've actually never needed to use the beam for air to air.

I'm not whoever you think I am. That is the first (second if you count the post above the one you're quoting) thing I've posted in here in about a week. I dont check here as often as I used to, but none of this is new. I've thought all this for a very long time but never really talked about it myself for the sake of not perpetuating the shitposting cycle. I've been a part of this thread since when it was a subsection of /wgg/ so I've watched how it evolved and went to shit as time went on and the shitposting memes bullshit increased.

I haven't been here for about a week now (been on travel) and it made me realize I don't miss having to sort through, ignore, and sometimes report when it got really bad, the barrage of Nigel, frog, and da bois XDDDD posts just to get to the unfortunately small percentage of interesting discussion that I liked contributing to, or new players asking questions about things that I liked helping them with. All of that, in combination with seeing how dead this general has become now that so much of its posters have been driven away would be vindictive if it weren't sad. I like /simg/ when it's good. It's a frank place to talk about flight sims and much more open when compared to other forums. Unfortunately that's also its greatest weakness because it allows groups of shitters to flourish and ruin it for everyone else.

If it really is the case that its just one or two bad eggs in TS that ruin it for the rest of the group, then I'm sorry but the damage to the TS group's reputation and this thread was already done many, many threads ago.

This is the last I'll post about TS drama. I dont really come here much anymore anyway, so you're free to consider and disregard this as a rant of somebody who already has one foot out the door.
