Most character stat edits are safe offline now.
Fromsoft realized shortly after release that it was possible for people to change someone else's stats with CE, thus softbanning them, so they took most of the system down to prevent that.

Most cheating offline doesn't trigger invalid data anymore, hence why people at sl120 with 99 in every stat are so common now.

If you want to use an Artorias sword use the one in the DLC, else you will have bags of dicks. Artorias sword is meant for over-leveled players. It is OP as fuck for 387s but crappy at meta levels.

Because, being the poster set, it was probably one of the first completed assets in 2.
So it was made before the downgrade, back when they had a proper lighting engine in place.

Cutting that engine, and a tonne of other tech that had originally been planned fucked up the lighting on a bunch of sets, whose textures had been designed with those in mind, resulting in them looking dull and plastic.

It's also why most of the returning DaS1 armor looked notably worse than everything else, and why a couple of the obviously later assets looked better than the rest and properly metallic.

Greatsword of Artorias is the best greatsword in the game only if you're an insanely high SL, otherwise the fourway split scaling simply does not pay off.
The Zwei works well uninfused, but if you're set on going elemental lightning is probably the safest for PvE since Chaos scales with humanity held and you're not likely to have many of those.

Can I get a katana build? And what are the best katanas? Darkdrift looks bad, which is a shame.

Did they buff the WA of the Old King's Hammer?
Before, I remember it doing pitiful damage. Like, comically low, less than a single R1.

I was just fooling around and hit the firekeeper with it and it did over 1200 to her, oneshotting her. For reference, a single 2HR1 does about 640 damage to her so this was about equal to 2 R1s.

I haven't tested in pvp yet but it seems stronger than I remember. I wonder if it was one of those things stealth-changed in the latest patch that nobody noticed because why fucking bother to use this horrible garbage?

Interestingly, the OK hammer has the exact same strength and faith scaling as the DS greataxe, but both less physical and less elemental base damage.

I feel like it was probably a copy/paste job, which might explain why this weapon is so trash.

Strenght weapons are still good enough to get through the game in PvE, they added hyper armour to balance the lack of poise. They're also faster than we're used to, since the animations took a lot of inspiration from Bloodborne's faster pace.
Magic as a whole is probably the least useful it's ever been; miracles are shit for damage, sorceries are less powerful than in previous iterations, and pyromancy is probably the strongest it's been but the stat requirements are also the highest.

Darkdrift getting into Yuria's hands is not odd, considering the Majestic Greatsword and Havel Soldier gear was passed around a lot in that same game. Both the Crypt Greatsword and Darkdrift seem to be relics left behind by Neato, then inherited by Agdayne.

Okay so I tested the OK hammer against the Drakeblood NPC in Archdragon Peak.
2 R1s with my setup did 498
WA hitting directly + 2 ticks of the lingering lava blob totaled to 201.

For some mysterious reason, the 2nd slam hit the firekeeper for significant damage, but when it hit the drakeblood, it simply staggered him for 0 damage, while the 3rd slam was the only one that did damage. This probably accounts for some of the damage disparity.

Verdict: OK Hammer's WA is still completely worthless. Fun fact, the perseverance on the OK Hammer does not reduce incoming damage like other greathammers, and the perseverance effect goes away immediately if you input the WA followup. The WA followup also does not have hyperarmor until the 3rd slam and the explosion has almost no range.

I don't know what they were thinking with this weapon, but it clearly hasn't been buffed with any patch.
