I actually think there's nothing inheritly wrong with the versus series. It's just that EV was such a low effort sequel that it makes the versus games look bad. At the end of SV they already fought yoma, they just never appeared in the game. I kinda blame vita limitations aswell.

It definitely is a matter of laziness. The yoma fights in the 3DS games were the highlights in my opinion, and they'd be even more awesome on better hardware.

I probably expect too much from titty ninja games, but it kills me that there can't be something like SK but with thorough polish. A solid gameplay loop, supported by better level design to provide variety. In-game cutscenes. Few if any recycled elements that matter in the long term.

A Senran Kagura game like The Warriors would be god-tier. I haven't played it in years and I've yet to buy the PS4 port, so I don't know if it aged well, but I remember loving that game.

I'm interested in God Eater 2/Resurrection because I never played the series before, but I heard it's good, and I like the hunting games enough.

I have a question though: every piece of gameplay footage I've seen had the player in some bombed out, drabby, gray/brown dystopian area. Is that how every location is?

Part of what I love about Monster Hunter/PSO is the diversity of areas (forest, volcano, tundra, ocean, etc).

The trophies that took me the longest were fighting Nemesis and maxing all the characters. I picked the Expert sphere grid like an idiot and it took me forever. Total playtime was 187 hours when I platinumed it.

Why did they even have that timer on that desert dungeon after you get to the spaceship? Was that supposed to be somehow intense? What? God no, Hearts R had awful characters, awful designs and one of the worst stories to date in the series. I'd argue even Graces' story made more sense. Not to mention an incredibly small and empty world despite having many areas to visit and a world map, every single town was tiny with almost nothing to it and nothing to do. Sidequests were few and far in between. The animations and overall quality of the visuals were subpar due to Vita and being a pretty lazy remake. The few saving graces for that game was the battle system and Beryl, who was a genuinely decent character with development when the entirety of the rest of the cast was nonsensically stupid or whose personality made no sense whatsoever.

I could go on about this shit all day, but I won't.

Every character except for Natalia was a pretty well characterized character, to be honest, yes.

The point of the majority of the cast for Abyss was for them to be assholes, directly mean and to poke fun at Luke in order to further push his development later in the story after finding out what he'd done and that he was just a clone, which amounted to a complete shift in personal views, how he acted in accordance to the events surrounding him as well as doubling up on that when he wanted to separate himself from Asch. Luke was actually a pretty decent character, he started out like a pompous asshole and quickly learned about the consequences of him acting out in the way that he did and instead learned to grow the fuck up. Shing, quite literally made no development that made sense based on the events of the game. His love with Kohaku was completely forced throughout the game, from the moment they meet the emotional tension is apparently sky high to the point where he dedicates himself not to kill the person who killed his grandfather, but instead to heal Kohaku's heart for something that was literally not his fault. All of Hearts R characterization is this way, minus Beryl who had legitimate character development.

Yes, the combat system was worse than Hearts R. The animation quality in Abyss was much smoother, Hearts R had pretty poor animations and it caused it to look and feel stiff.

I'm playing Overwatch on PS4 with a bunch of guys from here and we're having a great time. Except sometimes we go insane but that's another story.
Either way, PC Overwatch is actually faster, as in every animation, movement speed and cooldown is faster. The community is much more try hard and you can enjoy text chat fun times.

If you want a more relaxed experience, Overwatch on consoles is great.

Other great games to get currently: Doom, Odin's Sphere ehhh that's about it.
