No, even at max the Sharp weapons have such incredibly delayed switch times that there's no difference.

The new stun durations are just garbage and in Sharp's case, it does nothing but pause the zed so you can reload your crossbow. In some respects it's down to stumble-tier because it causes the zeds to spaz out just as quickly as they were stilled, and they block their heads with abrupt arm swings the same.

Well jesus christ no wonder people complain about every perk feeling the same, rather than having some perks excel at one area they whine about how scrakes and FPs aren't fucking their shit up hard enough so in the end every perk is just a glorified trash killer.

This problem would probably be solved if they just spammed more trash zeds so it's more important to keep your demo and SS from being overwhelmed while they try to kill scrakes and FPs but I'm pretty sure there are technical limitations that prevent them from just spamming dozens more trash zeds

Alright alright, now that the initial panic is over, I had a quick solo game with the new SS, just on Sui Long, just to get a general feel for things.

Basically, needless to say, stunning is no longer a part of the plan. Like, at all.

For the first Scrake I met with an M14 I emptied my mag into his head. Good news is, he died, bad news is, no stun, unfortunate.
Similar news for the first FP. Blasted half a mag into his glowing chest, no stun.
Both of those were with Ballistic Shock enabled.

So basically, what I'm doing now is running Slavshooter. Ballistic Shock just doesn't seem to mean shit now, especially on the M14.
An extra 30% while crouching isn't really my thing, but it's good for the first volley on an approaching big guy I guess, or if your team of bodyguards is good enough to let you crouch undisturbed.

Look on the bright side partners, at least the damage is still untouched.
I will miss being able to stun and kill big guys before they could hurt anyone, but I'm afraid those days are just about over.

It could be worse. I'm not happy about this, but at least I still have move speed, damage, REU, and ammo.

The two main reasons I see, which went through TWI's mind as they just looked at the numbers, was that they didn't want people stunning with it off-perk, but still let it stun scrakes on headshot with Ballistic Shock. i get the wanting to prevent off-perk stun lock but that's more of a problem with the m14, which weighs less and all has such a high probability of stunning that you can just blind fire mag dump on a raging scrake/fleshpound to stun it then run away.

the railgun is too heavy to be used by most in terms of off-perk. the only time i see it used off-perk is buying bulk to fight hans, but even then it's not as common as off-perk rpg. I just genuinely do not understand why they halved the stun-lock probability on a weapon that weighs a lot, is slow to fire, requires either time to lock on or very good accuracy seeing as it's a one shot reload and is the highest tier weapon for the SS.

PLUS duration of the stun is fucked. they've reduced the probability of stunning, and the effect of stunning. that makes no sense. reduce one or the other. like you said, it's made the stun likelihood perk utterly useless.

I used to pick zerker just as the kinda "easy" class if I couldn't be arsed to play as one of the normal classes. You could run around and melt whoever you want and be pretty much impervious to big lads because of the health, resistance and parrying, which was fun I guess.

I think it's probably been nerfed -too- hard, though. Just getting a bit more health or speed by default and making parrying more effective would be enough imo.

This. Did this for some games and found it worked really well to skirmish someplace where trash zeds spawn, plus it also keeps an escape route clear. Melee flinch really just locks down a lot of incoming damage, making the regenerative perks more than fruitful allowing you to hold the team's blind spots by yourself.

The auto-lock is pretty damn accurate, you can be about a 0.5m off the target and still hit.

Not that it matters, there's no point in using it for big guys.

If it got bumped to the old, doubled up values and maybe added back the armor for every grenade tick that wouldn't be terrible. Focus fire some temp armor on someone getting swarmed or big guy'd, and the rest of the time you don't have to worry about singlemindedly tapping darts into people's asses every free moment you've got. Popping some ablative foam on someone that quickly degrades so as not to impede movement makes more sense than kevlar repairing nanobots, anyway.

I would also love to see a change to the medic shotgun that might make it more interesting of a choice for medics: Instead of shooting single darts like every other medic gun, it launches a little cluster of darts, spread out like a shotgun shell would do. Darts for this should also not lock on to targets to help balance it a little (otherwise you end up with a swarm of auto-aiming needles wizzing all over the place to their targets like in a shmup).

Berserker is okay again now that they fixed the damage resistances, bloats/husks/sirens die from one heavy hit HS with sword. One heavy hit kills gorefast.

Only weakness now for Berserker is Scrakes, but u can still keep them busy or EMP while everyone else shoots them so it's okay.

Oh and in KF2, the RPG-7's direct hit damage does 400% the damage. So the difference in direct hit with RPG (RPG only) and splash is massive against Scr.

Regardless of the "resistance" bullshit, Scr in KF1 are (or at least were) incredibly resistance. Whether or not TWI says they have explosive resistance or not isn't relevant. It's just the facts when you play the game.

I remember as Demo in HoE everybody else would focus the Scr. So the Commando would get the Scr to threshold, then they'd all nuke the thresholded Scr down while Demo kept the trash clear (if needed) Then for FP you can unload M32 into FP if needed.

Trying it out now and it seems to mostly be like the original beta which I didn't care for.

Basically monsters hide until they hit stage 2 or 3 then go ham on the team. Premade or good coordination is the only thing that can really stop them or the Monster is played by a complete noob and has no idea where to go for powerups. If you see anyone with an animated avatar they're a vet/founder and you're not going to have an easy time especially if they pick Kracken,

Also, Keys are a bitch to get for unlocking anything. They give you like 1k every 5 levels though. A lot of people have been buying the game off G2A to get Founders Edition which comes with most things unlocked and 3k keys for the hefty price of $5.

It's frustrating as fuck but can be fun at times. It's free so try it out.

From my experiences playing Suicidal with pubs, they seem alright at holding down chokepoints alone for extended periods of time, but need help whenever big guys show up. Basically a Commando with no stalker vision, less range, and more resistance to being overwhelmed by large numbers of trash.

Never felt like they held the team back, unless we direly needed a medic, or something to take out big zeds. That goes for all pubs though - once you have sc/fp coverage and healing, it doesn't really matter what perks people pick.

I know that the M14 stun nerf was fair, but was nerfing general stun durations necessary?
Stuns don't seem to last for jack shit any more.

I honestly would not be surprised at all but I think it's still a long way off.
TW are used to having generally ded games, but I think KF2 will have to get SERIOUSLY ded for that to happen.

It all depends on full release long term.
Short term full release will obviously be populated. Between the people waiting for EA to end and the people who already own the game and are waiting for the same the ranks will swell.

However it is the long term that matters.
If the numbers swell to, let's say, 30,000 players in the first week, but that number drops to 1000 after a month, it is a failure.

Playing that solo farm map has shown how buggy Sirens are. I'm mostly using the RPG and many times they fizzles when there's no Siren screaming or any red flare of a Siren scream. This update fixed everything wrong with SS and in a perfectly good way.
The game is very fun as it is right now, it's balanced and hard enough on HoE without being impossible as some of you seem to think.

The SS stun was way too OP and retarded, it was only fun for feeling like a super hero for a while, it had to be removed.

You guys are shitting the place crying about the m14 nerf and how now ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO KILL BILL GUYS WITHOUT MAG DUMP and so on.

Go play the game and get good you shitters. Even pubbies are getting the hang of it and you're still pretending the game is now dead forever.

Gunslinger can kill scrakes very fast, on his own
SS can still kill scrakes pretty fast, on his own
Support can still kill scrakes fast, on his own
Demo can kill scrakes sort of fast, on his own (rpg dud to the head deals massive damage + knockdown, m79 dud to the head stuns it and must deal pretty good damage too because I kill a bunch of them this way)
Commando can kill scrakes, not fast but on his own
Medic can use off perk weapons and deal with scrakes just fine on his own, but it might take some kiting
Zerker is shit for scrakes, that's true. FB too but that's expected.

Demo can c4+rpg+dynamite a Fleshpound off the game in a couple seconds, on his own
Gunslinger can kite and decap Fleshpound pretty fast, on his own
SS can kite decap Fleshpound pretty fast, on his own
Zerk can blow up Fleshpound with some kiting, on his own
Medic can tank and decap Fleshpound with offperk, on his own
Support and commando should not deal with Fleshpounds on their own but with a lot of kiting and parrying it's still fairly viable assuming you have a medic at least to heal you

Your whole argument as to why you're crying so much seems to be basically "SS was the ONLY one that could kill big ZEDs fast and efficiently because of stun, and now he's shit because there's no stun", which really only proves you don't know what you're doing in this game.

This update was nothing short of three steps forward, but you won't realise it because it's so much more comfy to whine about the good old 5 sharpshooters and a medic times.
If you really care about this game, go play it. Go play HoE as Gunslinger or SS, look at how the meta changed and at how Big Guys are finally a real threat again and how skilled players can dispatch them quickly. Of course shitters will just team mag dump them, that doesn't mean it's the optimal way of doing it. And it's not.

Maybe with the damage skills, and maybe ReU, yeah, but you'd better have good cover if you go for that skill path. I personally don't so I can't kill scrakes in 1 shot, nor do I use the railgun really.
The point remains, between pre-update and post-update, big guys have definitely gotten some rank up in threat level. They were almost less of a threat than a pack of stalkers.

I've seen it happen a lot during seemingly regular encounters. I can't remember seeing him skip the wake up animation while on fire, but I've seen it a lot.
It's hard to refer to an animation as a boon to stun times when the AI can skip it on a seemingly random basis.

We're currently working on the support re-work and how we feel that we can find a good as well as fun balance.

We have now made changes so that Supplier is now a passive effect and added the ability to carry one block of weight per five levels, to give you 20 maximum carrying once you max your level out.

Level 5:
Ammo Bag - Get 20% more ammo
Fully Loaded - All Support weapons bought from the trader now come with full ammo

Level 10:
Fortitude - Increase your health by 50%
Bulwark - You and teammates will take 30% less damage from enemies

Level 15:
Bombard - Increase stumble change by 60%
Tactical reload - Increase reload speed

Level 20:
Tenacity - Increase damage and switch speed of support weapons by 15%
Unburden - Receive a 5% movement speed bonus whenever a teammate takes from supplier

Level 25:
Vast firepower - You and teammates ammo reserve stay the same during zed time
Infinite infiltration - Allows all ballistic weapons from you and teammates to have unlimited penetration

Should be right there, and looks like the downloads still work. The nice thing about this one is it only replaces the vocal versions, and the Hotline Miami replacer I have replaces the non-vocals, so I can switch soundtracks in the middle of the game by turning vocals on or off.

Keepnig backups of every file is a great idea, in any case. I've had to redownload stuff so many time due to being careless, and every time is nervewracking as I search for old threads and pray the downloads still work.
