Fuck Stalkers, fuck them for not dropping teeth. Is there a better way than waiting forever for them to chip one tooth on the Seamoth? I'm 4 Enameled Glass from making the Cyclops, and I want to make it today.
>>
>>147583740
When can we color our base? When will there be more cosmetics added to the base? When will there be stairs or elevators added to the base? When can we resize picture frames? When can we make one really tall room instead of multiple small rooms stacked on top of one another?
>>
>>147584069
It's risky, but if you drop salvage metal near them they'll sometimes drop teeth.
Best prepare some health packs first though.
Am I the only one annoyed at having an entire locker fucking stuffed with health packs I never use? I wish I could deconstruct them into bleach or something
>>
>>147584162
Or domesticate them and drop them at an open clear spot with some salvage. They won't attack you and it'll be easy to see the teeth since it won't be obscured by kelp grass
>>
>>147584069
As far as I've seen teeth dropping on Seamoth bite is a meme. Just throw out some metal wreckage on front of a few and let them play with it for a few minutes.
>>147584162
>Risky
Thats what stasis gun is for.
>>
>>147584139
I don't know about you but I don't want to play snake eater every time I climb my deep sea shaft.
These rooms are cramped enough as it is I don't know about wanting a staircase shoved in.
And a tall room? I gotta know what you'd use that for, seems like it'd be a lot of wasted space since you can only reach so high, it might be neat if it was a huge aquarium though.
>>
Anyone wants to see what the updated Lost River looks like in Experimental Mode, either head there or watch this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=al-2c6CeNeQ

Looks like it's gonna be hella spooky.
>>
>>147584646
>and a tall room?
Variety mostly. Everything feels so samey. Plus I think it would look cool if a tall room with a spiral staircase led to your observatory.
>>
>>147584069
>Steal a couple Stalker Eggs
>Put 'em in a Containment
>Wait until they breed a couple more
>Take out one or two and release them in a nice open field nearby
>They won't attack you ever because you raised them
>Drop a couple salvage
>Come back to collect teeth
>>
>>147584139
I mostly just want new room types. One enormous room to build rather than multiple little multipurpose rooms.
Rooms now feel a little too cramped with something in the middle. I wanted to save space and put my water filters in the same room as my fish tanks but they clip into each other because of how small the rooms are.

Multipurpose rooms should be an exception, something you make when you just want storage space or some shit, not the majority of your base.
>>
>>147584831
The bases do feel a little cramped sometimes so a room that's the size of two multi purpose ones wouldn't be so bad.

Also customizing the cyclops would be a lot easier if you could do it from the outside.
>>
I'd like to be able to have a glass ceiling and/or floor for MP rooms
>>
I'm missing Degasi voice log 3, where be it? I've scoured the islands and that sunken base from top to bottom but I can't for the life of me find it.
>>

>>
I got a question for you all. So I was out in my seamoth in the grassy plateau about 200m down when I heard something spooky. It sounded kinda like a dragon from Skyrim, but more echoey. It was getting dark and I didn't have any mods on my seamoth so I ran away. Did I hear a reaper?
>>

>>
>>147586378
>>147586672
No they're friendly, the only creatures that are not friendly after you raised them in your tank are Gasopods and Mesmers.
Gasopods still drop their ass bubbles if you go near, and Mesmers will still trance you.
If you stand in the way of a Stalker when it's trying to go somewhere it'll hurt you, same with a Crabsnake, but they don't chase or attack you unless you harm them.
>>
>>147586672
their AI confines them to the area you released them in but they will still attack if you get close. I released a stalker outside my kelp forest base so it could look more lively. Sometimes he was near my hatch when I left and I got an unpleasant surprise.

The Crabsnake fucking dissapears though, he comes over at night sometimes, but only when I'm inside the base. Then he just kinda fucks off for a while.
I've got no idea why, probably something to do with his AI.

I let him go and he ran away, came back that night and freaked me the fuck out. I wonder if you could plant a mushroom for him to live in, that'd be cool.

Also i don't know if I mentioned it in one of my other posts, but just because they aren't hostile doesn't mean they don't hurt you. I ran into the crab snake and he did damage to me.
Also when I dropped some copper a Stalker darted towards it and damaged me because I was directly between him and the shiny.
Honestly i really love this idea of fish you raise not being hostile to you, I hope it isn't a bug.

So my first eggs hatched into Gasopods, and they're fucking adorable.

What now? Do I have to throw them outside to get big? What happens if I do that, will they hang around my base and be my buds, or fart on me every time I try to leave my base?
Can I keep them in my tank as pets without any negative effects?

>>
>>147592434
If you release them, they'll grow to full size, hang around the base, and fart every time you go near. Releasing any animal born in the alien containment makes it revert to its normal AI. Keeping them doesn't do anything but take up space in the tank, you can use them for bioreactor fuel.
>>
>>147592434
Gasopods will still act hostile and drop gass bubbles, the fucking poison WILL destroy shit in your base if it blows up near you, so don't do that.
You can keep them in there as long as you want with no issue, as far as I know. If you get a bioreactor you can stick them in there for power.

Still pretty new to this game. I just finished the Seamoth, and my base in the starting area is more or less self sufficient between my fishtank full of boomerangs and airsacks, my water purification device, a power core recharger, and some trees I grew from fruits on that fucking terrifying island with no bottom that's floating over the endless void. Annoyingly, that water purification device drains all my power at night, so I've been thinking about building a separate facility just to house the damn thing so I don't have to worry about it as much.

My only real problem right now is resource management. Is there a reliable way to get large amounts of titanium/copper/silver other than looking for those tiny sandstone/limestone rocks to break? My starting area is fresh out of those, and it's starting to become hard to find quartz too. Do they ever respawn?

There are a couple of sub upgrades you can find inside, on the little consoles. One in the reactor room, another in the hallway just before you go out onto the broken deck with the crabs.

There's some coordinates found in the crates that are scattered in and around it, but they just lead to various points of interest on the map. Otherwise the crates only contain water/medkit/battery/power cell.

They need to straight up increase the size of multipurpose rooms. It is something they want to turn into another blueprint, is it not? Then it should at least have some decent walking space around an alien containment. The tubes could probably be shortened to compensate for the bigger rooms.

Alternatively the stairs that go into each tube could be moved further into the tube section itself instead of jutting out into the multipurpose room. It would need a bit of extra geometry work so that the space for the staircase appears on the end of a tube when it is connected to a room.
>>
Is there a point in keeping the Radiation Suit equipped after fixing the Aurora?
>>
>>147605081
Not that I'm aware of, might as well make the Stillsuit at that point since it's two free water items every in game day.
>>
>>147605081
No. I assume there will be other purposes for it eventually.
>>
When will floodlights be changed so as not to be completely useless?

I like having the extra lights around my base's entrances and windows, makes it looks nice and helps me navigate a big better, but they use up a battery fast as fuck and I can't be bothered to switch them out all the time
Just tie them into base power like the spotlights rather than battery power
>>

1) The stillsuit water packets are annoying to deal with.
2) Roleplay when handling spent reactor rods

I really hope the devs do manage to work in multiplayer at some point
I'd love to have submarines that require multiple people to pilot
Or maybe one person steers and someone else can man the guns
And then like, the guy in the guns can spin around and see in every direction to point the pilot the right way
>>
>>147606845
No. The strider looking things are Sea Treaders.

Crabsquids look like big translucent octopus/squid things. They're aggressive and attracted to light.
>>
>>147605921
Those packets tend to fill up space in my inventory and I have to get rid of them every now and then. They are also inferior to airsack water because they have a penalty to hunger. The water filtration machine provides big +50 bottles and free salt, so that was about the time when I put the stillsuit back into the cabinet for good.

-----

Idea for weapon that will totally not ever be included in game because muh non-apex-predator-politics:

Titanium flechette pack (50 shots):
1 titanium
1 battery
1 lubricant

Takes 2 slots in inventory. When repulsion cannon is equipped, replace battery with a flechette pack to change its function and 3D model. With this modification, the repulsion cannon will fire little titanium darts at high velocity (faster than pushing a fish for sure) which will do substantial damage on impact. Each hit will have minimal knockback effects unlike the normal repulsion cannon, so pairing it with a stasis rifle is necessary for tougher and more stubborn carnivores. Deals maximum damage up to 10 meters, then degrades to zero at 60 meters. A modest cone of fire means its not perfectly accurate.

Once expended, it becomes useless and must be dumped / disappears automatically. Cannot be refilled with swim charge fins for obvious raisins.
>>
>>147607694
Well it's pretty useful for me since I'm still in the early-ish game.

I have a better idea, how about, they make a ladder animation, and when you click on the ladder, it plays, but if you click again, you are instantly at the top. Then you can just double click if youre in a hurry, but if you want the animation, you can just let it play.
>>
>>147598838
I'm the dude who was "bitching" about ladders and I think they should keep it because, according to the responses, many people like this fast travel BUT they should also add a tall building with stairs or other non-retarded ways to build vertically
>>
>>147605007
I agree.
>>
Why not just make it a toggle in the options or some shit? I mean the escape pod has a ladder animation when you use the main one so it's not like they can't do more of them.

I agree the stillsuit is annoying, having to stop and click on reclaimed water all the time is almost more trouble than it's worth.
It should just automatically refill your water meter, or simply reduce the rate of water consumption.

I hope we'll eventually get some other suit options so the stillsuit doesn't win by default.
>armored suit with +HP/-Dmg%
>insulated suit for extreme hot/cold
>pocketed suit with extra inventory space
>liquid breathing suit for increased depth

That is assuming they make pressure/temperature actually lethal.

The radiation suit could also have electrical and/or toxin resistance to give it some extra purpose. Maybe rename it to hazard suit or something.
>>
>>147606732
I am curious about this too.

>>

They said it is very unlikely that they would add multiplayer becuase it is too hard to do since the game is kind of balanced for singleplayer. But I think a co-op mode with 2-4 people would greatly, greatly enhance the game. I don't understand why it would be so hard to implement.
>>
why does my guy sound like bane whenever he gets hurt
>>
>>147608574
The biggest hurdle would be the voxel terrain, but since they're getting rid of that anyway there isn't any major reason it can't be done.
It's just a matter of priorities. They're a small team and they want to finish what they started before worrying about multiplayer.

Build a tower and a room all the way to the surface and put all your solar panels there. I wish there was an attachable base section that is specifically meant for providing a flat surface for panels and not a foundation that has to anchor to the ground. It'd be nice if that section is guaranteed not to screw up the power line connections too, I hate seeing the power go from 700 to 625 then to 650 and back again all the damned time.
>>
>>147609267
That's not a bad idea, only issue is it would look gaudy as fuck. I might just suck it up, I mean I have four panels and the reactor. I should be fine.

The crabsquid is pretty close to an octopus.
I would like to see creatures that can camouflage and mimic like an octopus though.

Quartz is plentiful, you just have to rotate your harvesting locations so it has time to respawn. In addition to all the shallows, the sparse reef in the southwest has tons of it and no large predators around. There's also lots of it in the blood kelp biomes.

You know what we need once warpers are added into the game? We need a resource gained from killing them (and killing them should be difficult) that will let you build teleporters in a base

Maybe with a limited range, we don't want these to shatter the need to ever go out into the water, but teleporters I could use to get between my bases instantly when I need to check up on things or move supplies around would be fucking amazing

The entire mission of the Aurora was to build a gigantic phasegate out in space too, so maybe you would have to salvage some parts from the Aurora to put it together too, which is a pretty dangerous journey until you're well-equipped for it

I downloaded a 1Gb batch a couple of days ago when I enabled the experimental beta, was that the July update? Or is this a separate update? Steam says my latest update was a 1.3Mb update last night, the notes say this update was released at 9am this morning, but I have no prompts or links or anything saying I can download it.
>>
They should definitely add a Boat or something similar
Not for the sake of it being useful but because sometimes I just don't want to dive into the spoopiness and just want to have a comfy ride on the surface
>>
>>147633334
...come to think of it, why isn't that in the game already? Why don't the lifepods have dinghies or anything of the sort? Wouldn't it be more important to find dry land than go underwater?
>>
>>147631595
I'm pretty salty, especially because the trello says that this update was supposed to be WAY bigger

>scanner requires a battery now
This is where it all ends
>>
>>147634857
I scanned 4 blueprints and still at 99% charge so its not that big of a deal

>>147634653
It would be more important from gameplay standpoint but the crew was set out to explore a water planet, they don't need ships/boats/whatever to go underwater
>>
Why do they insist on making survival games tedious as fuck. Once I'm passed the early game I really don't want to have to be brought back to earlier areas just the make freaking batteries.

Survival games need automation at end game, not more fucking fetch shit
>>
>>147635674
>I don't want to do anything, make the game play for me!

Well, let's see, it's a SURVIVAL game where you need to keep making finite things to SURVIVE, because if everything you make worked forever and ever then you'd have nothing to do and be even more bored and angry.

Build a battery charger, you whiny baby
>>
>>147635674
If you can't build a battery charger and you don't want to have to go back to Safe Shallows for acid mushrooms just grow some outside your new base.

>The eggs for Sea Dragon Leviathans will be added in the future. Infant Sea Dragons may be able to act as a heat generator, and will also cook any fish inside the same aquarium

Because different biomes contain different blueprints
For example:
>Shallows (where you start): Seaglide, Solar Panel
>Grassy Plateaus: Seamoth
>Mushroom Forest: Cyclops parts
And so on. The above mentioned contain more blueprints obviously (except for Shallows) but I didn't want to ruin the fun for you

Explore more and you'll find more blueprints, its the best to find a biome and try to complete every blueprint there then move on to the next biome

Good luck

Try reloading the game. Whenever it starts up my base says stuff like "Power restored"
It's possible it's just a glitch, or your using power somewhere with floodlights or something.

To be clear on the terraforming, are they talking about converting entirely from voxel terrain to a mesh, or are they just cutting the deformation and associated checks? I have doubts about the latter since I dont really see any way that it could have that much effect on pop in, since it should be simple object addition at map stream transitions with other checks being continuous.

Imagine, a base in the depths, chilling in the dark, with only the bioluminescence of the fauna and flora to light what you can see. Imagine a Sea Treader herd going by, illuminated only by their glowing bits. I want to turn the lights off, god dammit.

Probably because you go something like 20 minutes diving deeper and deeper down, seeing absolutely no fauna other than a couple of jellyrays maybe.
And depending on how you go in you'll see a gigantic fucking skeleton.
Then suddenly you're attacked by shit that looks nothing like you've ever seen before that's bigger than your seamoth, probably while you're starting to wonder if you should head back soon for concern over energy and food.

The incompleteness of the area actually kind of added to it too. This one room was basically just a big stone square and made me think I was travelling out of bounds or something.
I don't know what it is, but something about endless voids outside of game maps and incomplete assets is fucking terrifying to me.

The devs have said they still want to put the Rock Puncher in, but it will be after launch. Honestly it doesn't need a gimmick like working with terraforming, it can just be another creature that wanders around and can fuck your day up.

I'm hoping it does become one of the designated creatures that can attack your base, preferably in the Shallows, Kelp Forest, and Grassy Plateaus.
>>
>>147683784
Terraforming may be getting taken out but can't they make destructible environments? Like the plateaus and other big rocks can be destroyed and broken up into rock chunks if a rock puncher or emperor rams into them.

They can still punch things, it just wouldn't change the terrain. They could have them do a similar trick that the Sea Treader does, sometimes it spawns/uncoverd limestone nodes that you can harvest when it punches a rock wall. And of course it could punch you if you get to close, and saunter up to your base and start Little Mac-ing it.

Not necessarily. The floater rocks, for example, can be made destructible entities without voxel bullshit

Same reasons why your lifepod comes equipped with "self recharging" power cells. I'm sure that the more advanced vehicles have some integrated pieces that only need a bit more input to work (ie power cells).

It is completely broken in terms of game balance, of course. I'd like to see an open-water dock module of some kind that will recharge the Cyclops just like the Moonpool does for the Seamoth. The amount of power that the cells have is more than enough without a recharge station, so those can be altered to draw a reasonable (>100%, energy loss) amount of charge from the engine cells.

The purple fish you see floating around are called airsacks, you can use them to make filtered water which will elminate 20 thirst. Good early when you don't have a solid source of better water. When you get around to building a base, try to find the blueprints for a water purifier.

In fact, basically all you wanna do right now is throw together a couple O2 tanks, get a couple knives, get a scanner, and go hunting around for fragments, which look like big safes found pretty much everywhere. Then make a habitat builder and start building a base.

Craft some tools and fins (make these from the huge seaweed), fix the lifepod, build a base with a fabricator so when the lifepod inevitably glitches out and fucks off to the other end of the universe you're not dead in the water. Build a couple of ayy lmao containment units for fish breeding, use the scanner on fucking everything but ESPECIALLY those little boxes you find on the ground so you get things like solar panels (very important) and the seaglide (also pretty important).

The real goal is to become self-sufficient ASAP, and once you're safe start expanding and exploring.

I spent forever decorating this shit. The multipurpose rooms are, from left tower to middle to right, top to bottom;
>Bedroom over Nuclear Power
>Aquarium over Storage over Reinforced Aquarium
>Farm (all floater island plants) over Bio Reactor
>Not visible; 15 Solar Panels behind the Moon Pool

My aquarium is 3 floors high, all Peepers. It was Reginald, but Peepers made better pets in my opinion.

Seabases and the submarine are all we have for "endgame" until the story is added in. So you best get on building the fanciest lookin seabase you got.
Makes the game a lot less terrifying to have a neat little home to come back to.
Priority is getting a fabricator and an alient containment in there so you'll have a reliable source of food and don't have to go up to the pod anymore.

They're a delicacy in the East (Taiwan, Japan, Korea). In the US sunfish is banned due to them being on the "Vulnerable to extinction" list. Unfortunately the fishing for them is unregulated, some fisherman kill them believing them to be worthless bait thieves, the traditional medicine thing in the East that's the bane of many animals, they get rammed and propeller'd by boats, and gillnet-fishing especially kills a large number of them every year.

Screens are actually slightly out of date. The single room hanging at the end is now a double stack with two bioreactors, not that I need them this close to the surface. Pipes are there for working on building more shit without having to go back in, wish they would give it a proper model sooner.
>>
>>147695873
Without the ship's main computer banks and resources the emergency pods' fabricators and the ones you can build can only work from what you give it, most likely. It can't turn a fish into a nutrient block, so it just cooks it and you hope for the best.

This would be more viable if the game had more decoration options, or if you could drop items without them turning into square boxes
>>
>>147697997
It's annoying that the amount of the Aurora you get to walk around in is so limited. It's pretty much just a hallway. I remember years about playing Xenosaga on PS2 and being amazed at how many floors and rooms were all over the starship you start out in. I want that shit.
It's a weird perspective thing going on with the game too, when you look at the Aurora from the pod it looks like the size of a goddamn imperial star destroyer, but once you get up close and walk around inside it's more like cruise ship sized. Makes it kinda disappointing to finally get inside.

>>147697997
After you free the Sea Emperor and accomplish a bunch of other story tasks, some friendly Ayys give you a variation of the Stasis Gun that reverses time. Then you use the Time Gun to revert the state of the Aurora to its undamaged state (unfortunately all occupants are still dead) and use it to construct the phase gate and return home.

Due to your survivability, ingenuity, experience and initiative, the company gives you command of the Aurora to now explore and exploit the Ariadne arm, with planet 4546B being the frontier's staging point. Thus begins the plot of Spacenautica.

We need some creatures like these.

>comes in small juvenile size (around the PC's size), medium teen size (twice as big as the PC), and large adult size (Seamoth size)
>found in several biomes, smaller ones near the surface and larger ones in the deep
>if you approach the smaller ones they'll hide inside their shells and float around until you leave
>approace a medium-sized one and it will try to ram you to make you go away

>That is assuming they make pressure/temperature actually lethal.

I can't find any evidence that humans actually have a crush depth, other than one reference to 22 miles deep being when bones would finally be broken down into component parts by the pressure.

Playing Subnautica made me think, because on the surface it was ridiculous that I could swim down deeper than my submarine could safely go, but that seems to be the case in the real world too. For example, the world free diving depth record is 250 meters, which is deeper than WW2 german U-Boats could safely go. Humans have been tested (under lab conditions) as safely going down to around 500m deep (this is without specialised suits, this is just a wetsuit), which is slightly deeper than the Seawolf nuclear submarine's test depth.
The only reason we haven't gone deeper than that is because once you get that deep, you run out of things to mix your oxygen with that don't turn toxic under the pressure. Which is kind of amazing, when you think about it. Then again human bodies are largely water, and water doesn't compress.

Still need to do descents/ascents at the proper speed though or your blood explodes. That'd be real goddamn tedious to do in-game so I hope they don't put that in as anything other than a hardcore mode option or something because juggling pressurised submarines/bases as well as your o2 supply would be a nightmare.
>>
>>147742817
Got that webm of a sonar showing a huge ship with insectoids leg?
>>
>>147743296
Of course humans have a crush depth. Why do you think we use submarines instead of swimming down into the deep? Our air-filled lungs are the biggest thing, you'll reach a point where you can't expand your lungs from the pressure and below that your chest will cave in along with your skull. Deep-sea creatures are specifically adapted to withstand the pressures down there, in fact they have the opposite problem we do because bringing them up to the surface damages their bodies and often makes them pop like balloons.

It's highly certain they'll implement pressure in the future, along with temperature.
>>
>>147743296
>I can't find any evidence that humans actually have a crush depth, other than one reference to 22 miles deep being when bones would finally be broken down into component parts by the pressure.

Thats because humans cannot reach a point beyond which their bones would be in danger of being crushed. They die far sooner from organ failer and their circulatory system collapsing on itself.

World record divers need special equipment to even reach 300ft below surface, let alone a handful of people who have ever attempted to dive deeper than that and have lived.

Ergo this game is retarded for making you get out of your submarine and swim around like this would ever be plausible

>World record divers need special equipment to even reach 300ft below surface, let alone a handful of people who have ever attempted to dive deeper than that and have lived.

300ft is 90 meters. The world record free diving depth (that is "wear a wetsuit, no air tanks, swim down and come back up again in one breath") is 214 meters, which is 720ft. And that's without any air supply at all. Freedivers regularly reach depths of 110-120m. The world record for depth with SCUBA gear (again, no hardsuits or reinforced clothing, just a wetsuit and airtank) is 332m.

The deepest human survived dive on record is a simulated one (inside a pressure chamber) at 701m, or 2,300ft. They did it by using a mixture of helium and oxygen, which ties into:

>>147744191
>Of course humans have a crush depth. Why do you think we use submarines instead of swimming down into the deep? Our air-filled lungs are the biggest thing, you'll reach a point where you can't expand your lungs from the pressure

The issue with getting deeper than that is we don't currently have any gasses to mix O2 with that'll overcome the pressure. The deeper you go, the more specialised gax mixtures you need, and we've apparently hit the limits with the... diving... air gas mixture science.

I'm willing to believe that subnautica's science magic has a crazy air mix though.
>>
>>147746780

>>
>>147746618
Explain what's "gimmicky" about Subnautica.

>>147746780
There's also liquid-breathing, which would let humans dive even deeper because of the equal pressure inside and outside the body preventing both being crushed and air-related problems.
>>
>>147746664
Thanks

I also got an asshole sandshark regularly coming up from the red grass area to the safe shallows, and dissapears (when he reaches his biome distance limit ?)
Did it already happen to someone ?
>>
>>147746991

Yes that is what I'm saying. Submarines fairly thin metal shells surrounding massive pockets of air. Air compresses *real* easily. Humans are skin bags full of liquid. Liquids don't compress.

Again, the freediving depth record is 250m, which is below the safe recommended depth of a WW2 era german submarine. Pressures that would crush a submarine can be survived by an Austrian guy holding his breath.
>>
>>147747143
It happens sometimes. I've seen a Reaper in the Kelp Forests once, it would go to the edge of the Safe Shallows and turn back, as well as venture out into the Grassy Plataeu.
>>
>>147747206
Yeah I still think you will eventually get to the point where your bones break and your lungs collapse, no?
>>
>>147747440
I'm not saying humans HAVE no crush depth, I'm just saying the thing in the game where your seamoth would crush at, say, 500m while you can get out and be fine is perfectly doable if you accept space magic technology breathing masks.
>>
>>147747119
the gameplay in subnautica is a very shallow skinner's box revolved around tiers of gear to aid you in diving deeper and looking at new scenery.

It's shallow on several levels because 1, there isn't enough variety of scenery to keep you interested for very long in the main draw of the game 2 you reach an end point very quickly upon which further exploration leads to no gain for your character.
3 the game play is drawn out artificially by a short day/night cycle and very short oxygen meter. Even in the later game the oxygen meter runs out before it realistically should.

Additionally the game has nothing beyond its survival elements except for the draw of finding blueprints. Scanning plants or fish in the game leads to no benefit other than a journal entry, with poorly written narrative and barely any backstory. There are no other elements to the gameplay besides diving and collecting, diving and collecting.

The most repetitive of ARPGs at least have the draw of RNG and map randomization, whereas this game is static, has no replay value whatsoever, and most of the areas of the game are devoid of anything interesting to do beyond whats been stated above.

The crafting/building options are non existent and there's no point in creating a complicated base other than to satisfy your own need to have 'shiny' shit to fill the empty void that the landscape of this game provides

the blood kelp by the dunes has a large cavern that splits off to the lost river and the inactive lava zone. the lava zone opening is at the end of one of the paths on the floor. it's easy to miss and so far down that the seamoth will crush even if you've maxed it out.

it's so hard to find it that I placed 3 beacons just to guide me down with the cyclops while building the base and I still crashed into shit. I'd recommend using the seamoth sonar to see where everything is while down there as it's pitch black.

pic is my base down there so far. it's really just a checkpoint to refuel while exploring.
>>
>>147746780
>simulation highest was 700m

Yet I haven't seen a single reaper, not a one.
The fact that I haven't really keeps me on edge, especially because I was supposedly near a bunch of them when I was at that mountain island

They're all hiding inside your back pocket.

yeah, I've only seen two
I actually heard one around when I first started but I didn't know what reapers sounded like at the time. I could have died.

They're probably slightly out of your view. There are a shit load surrounding the Aurora. I hadn't encountered any while exploring the right side in my Cyclops, switched to different camera to check something and suddenly Reaper just 20 meters below me.

For some reason none of my screenshots are saving to my screenshots folder and it's bugging me. I have an above water greenhouse style room that I built and it looks sweet ;_;

You're probably looking in the wrong place, I dunno anon but it is weird sometimes.
All my screen shots were saving to one folder than all of a sudden they used a different one.
Dig through the subnautica folders and you'll find them.
