Atlantiss is a cool server and I really don't want to discourage anyone who might want to play there but to tell you all the truth the developers have sort of given up on it to work on their TBC/WotLK project.
Development has been close to nil since the Firelands (N) release aside from a little housecleaning and simple bug fixes on the FL bosses.
Just something to keep in the back of your mind before you invest too much time there.

So, guys, total noob here. I played Vanilla WoW until level 45-ish and then I had to focus on life. Well, my mom stopped paying to be honest.

That was almost 8 years ago and now I'm a grown up man, having missed all the great WoW shit, but I've educated myself and I want to play WotLK, preferably with some faggots like you.

Where do I join up? I want to slay Arthas before I die and have children. I played WC3:TFT for years and as I said, I enjoyed Vanilla when it was out. I looked at Cata and Mists, but they seem way too overwhelming, I just want to walk around Kalimdor and Azeroth, feeling like I'm part of this great experience /nostalgia

ToD is a low population server, they have a pretty blizzlike setup, besides the xp being a default 2x.
Progression is on Ulduar, and it's easy to find a guild that raids both T7 and T8 Most of the server is EU though. People are honestly just jealous and shitposting in the OP, <You> is the only guild that can regularly run 25 man raids.

GD has 7x exp, 7x gold, and a bunch of non blizzlike features, including a portal that teleport you to every major/minor city in the game.

Warmane is a p2w server, always been always will be. It's got decent scripting but if you want a blizzlike experience, stay away.

Gamer's District is is just as much p2w.

Dalaran's got RDF and overall a decent experience but it lacks decent developers.

ToD is obviously dead, but that's because we're all NA here and if you're a polack you might enjoy it. It's a decent server.

I tried to be as neutral as I can, whichever server you choose, you'll miss out on something. None of them are perfect.

L4g seems like only viable option for us now and it's instant 60, with 1x leveling.
I have found a leveling guide that will make life easier.
Let's start there instead, at least there's a huge population and even if there are some bugs in the world - I've heard the progress is pretty visible in the field of PVP / PVE end game content.

From what I've read vengeance just started with a basic mangos core... that's not very polished it will take loong time for it to be decent.

If I wanted to play a single-player game I would simply do it - world of warcraft is a massively multiplayer game - at least 1500 - 2000 players are required on a single realm for optimal experience.

Well vengeance is stock mangos, and l4g indeed seems to have a population of morons - but compared to 200 Polish people that's a population nonetheless.

Vengeance just takes around 15 - 30 days of commitment if you play for more than 5 hours /day otherwise it's 1 month + to reach level 70.

As of script quality it's very subjective and we can just trust others that played on both servers until later content.

The only saving grace to playing TBC on L4G is that nearly all of the major raiding guilds that had a name for themselves on Nost, have temporarily set up shop there.

I know there's lots of shilling going on here, but I'm really curious how the current scripting is compared on Dalaran and Warmane? I've heard from many that Dalaran's got buggy quests and some buggy dungeons, as well as poorer endgame to Warmane. But I've also heard that Warmane's TBC content isn't functioning well and I really don't like the wait times.
