Try to build everything in such a way that you can trivially expand production. You're gonna need way more than 1 assembler for red/green science, or 2 labs. But you have nowhere to put them.

copper cable can be produced very quickly and in general any time you try to move copper cable one by one to a belt you are bottlenecking your production
it's best to make cable in such a way that you can take advantage of the inserter stack size bonus since you can easily make five copper cables in the time it takes an inserter to move one of them

generally its best to either move the cable directly to another assembler or a crate

Has anyone decided what it should be more look like?

If you're memeing about the market thing, which the majority of people seem to not like very much, we'll remove it if it doesn't work very well.

>>147292097
Rotors are a thing we could technically do, but it would require a LOT of corners be cut in the physics in order to make it even slightly playable. At some point we'll make a tech demo to demonstrate this, but for now you're just going to have to actually play the game before making a call like that.

>>147292264
>Please tell me those aren't finalized meshes.
God no. Most of these textures are also 4k, hilariously enough. The punchline is that a netbook from 2008 has been confirmed to run REM reasonably well at default settings. We're going to cut back drastically on a lot of small overhead things like polycount in the future, but that's not whats killing the FPS currently. The best optimisation right now is going to be the merging of smaller struts into larger struts to reduce physics actor counts. This will allow much larger vessels that have the same technical structural integrity of a smaller vessel with everything simulated. The 'weld' strength of all the smaller parts is going to be added up and applied to the larger part.

Right now though, it kinda looks like one of those animations from the 90's that involves vehicles.

Beats the fuck out of me, but its in the OP and has been for a long ass time. Personally, I think the combat is more valuable than any amount of hinges or rotors or what the fuck ever, its just the way Robocuc is balancing that shit is unacceptable. Building for a purpose will always be a better game than building for some imaginary concept.

In any case, REM is going to involve some fancy shit like explosive bolts and retracting panels and possibly, depending on the physics behaving themselves, some manner of piston and merge block analogue.

Why is the line being drawn so vehemently at rotors? Does spengies suddenly lose its status as an /egg/ game if the rotors are removed? Does machine craft become unplayable if the hingejoints and other nonsense was never implemented?
>>
>>147293352
>its in the op
Thats because retarded op used and old pasta.
It was removed like a month ago, when all that shit from modded minecraf came about, and i argue about changing the name to
build your shit general, wich could include those games, and leave games more rts oriented like factorio outside of this.
This was space voxels whatever general...
Make your ship, and do shit in space.
Now look what has become to survive.
Both robocucks and factoriofags tried to leave, but they were not even an entire skeleton to walk, just a bare bone, so they came back.

This will never end untill someone change the OP entirelly and keep doing it.

Games either become popular and divas are forced to crater to them, eliminating the engineering autism in it. or they become an obscure title played by a few.

As of .13 all inserters can grab/place more than one item off of belts if you have the research.

But your point about not belting copper wires due to the huge amount they're needed in for greens still stands. Works fine for red circuits though IMO.

>>
>>147298680
Nick tried, by increasing costs and making it harder to stack them. All he managed was to make proper shielding take longer to set up and cost more RP.

What the retard needs to do is tweak the math so a single strong shield is better than multiple weak shields, but that'll never happen so long as impact angle is the main determinant of shield effectiveness.

Just fixed bodies in unity. We're using the basic ideas behind bridge building games, but in 3d along the frame that the player builds. Instead of cars driving over a bridge, you have to worry about AP rounds and walls slamming into your face.

Also what kind of fixing job does it require in a Unity environnement to implement the idea behind bridge games ?

>fixed bodies
Seriously fuck my ability to type with something long, hard and obscene.

Needs to be punished.

I meant 'rigid bodies', and that's just the name for physically affected objects in unity. We use some calculatory nonsense in scripts to figure out how hard a thing needs to be smacked in order for it to be broken off from another rigid body. We call this 'welding', in honor of of the late Gmod. This calculation is done against the rest of the attached bodies, giving the effect of spreading out the force of impact. Technically we could use any plug and play physics engine, but this one was conveniently in place already and is very well documented. We might need to switch to something else in the future if it becomes a problem.

By bridge building games, I'm referring to stuff like Poly Bridge. I'd give you a video to illustrate what I mean, but all poly bridge videos on youtube are done by incredibly annoying lets players rather than anyone worth watching.

Unity is actually really well suited for this kind of game. Just look at KSP, for example. You just need a dev that isn't a shitter to make it work bretty gud. Fun fact: we actually restarted the whole project only 2 months ago. All progress you see has been done in 60 days or less, including down time when we're out not developing, which is the majority of the time.

It doesn't seem like REM would have rotors.
Either they will be 2x2, which WILL trigger some autists, or 1x1, which means no structural integrity.
Best way to have both qt robits and not having pieces of ship breaking during maneuvers is to use hinges. So turning a strut into a hinge would allow more than one "node" for connection which increases durability of that section. To actuate them you'd need pistons though. Which, in turn, adds more gameplay as you can cripple a ship by blasting the pistons that move it's armor.

>>147346661
Pistons and hinges are much more likely than rotors, even from a conceptual standpoint. I still have no idea what rotors could feasibly be used for in a 1v1 6dof dueling game. I can understand having a bit of the armor that you could move on command to reveal a gun, or perhaps make the angling much harsher on a given piece of armor if you're in a certain orientation around a piece of cover. Perhaps something like airbrakes for atmospheric arenas.

Rotors? Eh...

Best answer I got so far was "You could make a contraption to turn the tide of battle :))))"

>>147347237

Gimballing turret bases that you can swap guns out of is a thing we're planning to do, yes. You'll also be able to add any sort of sponson armor onto the mount so it moves as the gun does.

my tired brain interpreted it as
>angling much harsher on a given piece of armor to provide cover
>armor shield that acts as deployable cover for allies
add some kind of reflecting/reinforcing energy field to it and you're golden
actually
maybe something like projecting said force field in the same way you lay down the armor
with like projector nodes at vertices or as struts, maybe creating field inside the enclosed area
like gungan portable shields

The primary reason you don't want to transport copper cables at all (whether by belt, train or logibot), is that each copper plate is equal to at least 2 copper wires.
Let's say you have a green chip assembly line that consumes 40 copper wire per second. If you were to transport the wire by belt, you'd need a blue belt or double belt of at least yellow+red.
If you were to instead produce the copper wire in-situ, the required copper plates could be transported off a single red belt.
For reference, yellow, red and blue belts have a maximum throughput of 13, 26 and 40 units/s respectively.

Wires are nearly the only item that suffer from this "item expansion" when refined.
It can also happen when using productivity modules. For example, with T1 pink in each step of the oil process, 10 crude oil turns into 10.07 petroleum gas (11.784 gas with T3).

>bloo bloo market bad
There's a pseudo-egg game around called Gimbal.
What's interesting about this game is that each vessel is saved as an image file which can be dumped into the game directory, which effectively allows players to transfer designs as they please.
Further, each player kill results in an automatic ingame transfer of the victim design. You keep what you kill.
Exchange of ideas and designs is an inevitable process (see: flier designs from /rcg/), and obstructing it by not letting players cooperate is quite frankly annoying.
While the idea of an open market might be unattractive to some, a game like REM needs (at minimum) a means of transferring designs between friends.

Sterik here: We currently already have a easy way of sharing blueprints through a single file, Basicly just like KSP. But I never though of putting it into a image file, I like the idea. Oh and btw; there will always be a way to share blueprints without the market system, but if the market was implemented and works as intended, players could sell "licences" of their blueprints, which means you could have their ship file, but if you don't have the licences you cant open it, but if a blueprint doesn't have a licence or its a free licence, then its free game. Or that's the hope...

Okay, so I've tried driving to the stone in my car and blowing the shit out of the ayys, but there's too many.

So I'm going to turret creep the entire fucking way.

With bullet turrets that are belt fed.

And the turrets have to remain in place to guard the eventual railroad and also because the ayy nests will send never-ending hordes.

It begins.

nah m8
you're mixing light and strong shields

light shield reflects (figuratively speaking, for CPU's sake) light to medium projectiles and energy weapons' discharges, heavy weapons and sustained fire will plow right through it
after field is formed, it drains energy at a constant rate to maintain itself
maybe a little more when "regenerating" after reflecting a shot
it has "health" and can be "overloaded", which shuts it down for a second
angle of incident matters as it defines how hard was the "load" on the shield
"buckler"-shield that protects from stray bullets
"ablative armor" or "energy armor"-shield that lets you stay in battle for little longer

heavy shield absorbs kinetic energy and absorbs/dissipates energy discharges
immediately starts to drain a bit of energy on activation
instead of health, it consumes energy proportional to absorbed impact
no overloads, it'll just suck all your energy
"fortress"-shield that makes you a spesstank
"shield"-shield that turns you into a mobile cover for allies
>>

Every time I see ballistics gel I start wondering if you could make a life size goo girl out of it.
With some clever tubing cavities and a pump to provide a bit of motion and tactical lubrication to key areas.
A frame "skeleton" of plastic or some lightweight metal in the middle could provide some consistency, now if you also used some lighter filler in the interior perhaps the construction could be made light enough to support motorized limbs.
I wonder if there are contracting muscle like materials available yet. Human walking would probably be to hard to pull off, but you could always give it more legs which would make balancing so much easier.
Of course it would also need a proper guiding AI with learning capacity, maybe it could be linked to sensors in the robot's erogenous zones that simulate pleasure so you could "train" it by fucking.

When you can build a mecha.
>>
Everybody loves posting what they build, so lets post what we can't build for a change:

I'm super fucking mad in FTD that I still can't build folding wing aircraft.

I'm also super fucking mad that we can't get some hacky friction added to land so I can build mobile artillery that doesn't do its best zamboni impression whenever it fires, never-mind cool siege-mode set ups.

Folding wings when? Ground Friction when? Hell. Give us some kind of pintons or shit to just spike the ground and go immobile.
>>
>>147404327
I can't build anything with desirable form, only desirable function. literally everything I build turns into a large rectangle and any attempt to build something shapely always looks retarded as well as being unable to actually fit what I want in it.
>>

>>147404924
Post some examples? I usually build for function, and form tends to come naturally in the process.

However my #1 goal is always to make my ships as compact as possible, and never to waste many blocks on purely aesthetic features. Doing this results in smaller ships and a more natural aesthetic feel. If you build your ship first and then try to beautify it, you end up tacking on a bunch of shitty features that look out of place

When I'm trying to make a ship look nice, pretty much the only thing I do is change some armour blocks. The ship on the right here is an example of that, the 22.5° slopes are really great for giving your ship a nicer shape without wasting blocks on big design features.

http://monster-tube.com

>My name is Master E and I am the inventor of the tubes you will see. I just wanted to give a brief history of why and how these tube came about. I have been vacuum pumping since 1972 and at that time you could not purchase any tubes. You had to make them yourself.

>As all pumpers do, we continually grow and have to buy new, larger tubes to accommodate our genitalia and eventually we all had to get two-stage tubes. The obvious problems with two stages are exiting without rupturing yourself and the need to continually buy new, larger ones which cost about $140-$180 per tube. That’s where I was in 1995, many sizes of straight and two-stages, hundreds of dollars in plastic filling my pump closet.

>That was the highest technical level in tube design until 1995, when I developed the MONSTER TUBES. Not only does the hinge but also the shape of Monster Tubes eliminate the situations I just discussed. You will never outgrow or get stuck in a tube again. And the effectiveness and the efficiency in growth from Monster Tubes is unmatched in any other vacuum tube on the market.

>The U.S. Patent Office agreed with my claims about the tubes’ unique ability to enlarge WITHOUT genital DISTORTION and how quickly and easily the genitalia increase. I was awarded a patent on the MONSTER TUBES. It is the ONLY PATENTED,HINGED vacuum tube being offered in the market today.

If you keep things small and have a CPU processor that delivers great single thread performance then maybe.

You try to plan and build something great but the glitches and bugs will hinder and prevent you from achieving what you're trying to do.
>>
>>147423127
If you got a powerful system its great for some time, but gets very frustrating as soon as you try making something remotely ambitious. Multiplayer in an open server is practically impossible, best you can hope for is getting together with a buddy or two and autism something together.

I don't think it's too bad at all. Blocky and rectangular isn't always bad, that cockpit is a good example of that.

Here what you could do, you could either make the whole thing more angled and make it move compact, for example, get rid of most of that empty space in the middle, push the engine rows on each side inwards so tht the ship tapers off to get thinner in the middle.

Or embrace the blockyness, and go with the "ship modules held together by struts" theme, use unfinished armour blocks in place of those thruster rows, make it look like they are scaffolding holding each section together and cluster the tursters in a ring in the center, maybe even put rings of scaffolding around the walkway. I think that would look incredibly awesome, and it would go well with the blocky industrial shape.

The main issue here is those thrusters. If you can see the sides of the thruster without good reason then it's gonna look ugly. Cluster those thrusters somewhere else, or embrace them as a main feature of the ship. Besides, that, learn how to use the steep slopes, they give you a lot more options than 45° slopes and can give you some awesome stuff.

Dove into the avorion editor so i could check out some guns and stuff
Current guns in avorion:
>Cannon
super slow rate of fire, creates a boatload of recoil.
>Chaingun
available in demo, highest rate of fire, has miniscule recoil
>Laser
available in demo, consumes energy, hitscan beam, very low range
>Launcher
shoots missiles, medium rate of fire, has miniscule recoil. has "seeker" as one of the possible modifiers
>Plasma
consumes energy, medium rate of fire, has miniscule recoil. low damage but always has bonus damage modifier against shields
>Railgun
hitscan single shot, super slow rate of fire, creates a boatload of recoil.

non-guns:
>Force Turret
consumes energy, can pull or push an enemy and/or you (can both pull you towards enemy and pull the enemy enemy closer, for example), hitscan beam, takes engineers instead of gunners to operate, deals 0 damage
>Mining Turret
available in demo, deals bonus damage to rock and can have higher salvage% than other guns

Modules unlocked by material:
>Iron
Solar panel, thrusters and all that
>Titanium
Energy generator, Energy container, Integrity field generator(armor hardener)
>Naonite
Shield generator(ship-wide shield)
>Trinium
Computer core(lets you have more upgrades), Hangar

And some other bits
>Weapon recoil scales with material rank (avorion chainguns are webm related)
>Weapon size scales roughly with material rank(it's still RNG), avorion guns are up to 3 times as big as iron guns. Crew required scales with both size and material
>Because of how the capacitor is refilled by a capped % of max/second, a high tier plasma gun can't be powered by only generators; you need capacitors as well.
>Higher material hangars/cargobays/crewquarters are simply more durable and don't contribute to their volume
>Total amount of color "drops" is something like 396

It expands the vanilla game a ton, adds like 10 or so ores, completely changes the crafting chain, and makes enemies harder.

Somehow I'm more comfortable using square grid excel to design stuff than using in-game creative mode or graphics editors.

Another thing thing I use is an "inefficiency" calculator that takes perfect production assembler ratio for input and throws out graph of efficiency loss per assembler removal.
When perfect production means 100-200 assemblers, scaling it down to 30-50 often makes up for assembler downtime in improved belt placement.
>>
>>147457859
god damnit i thought you meant some kind of hyper optimal method of planning actual excel spreadsheets, not just using it like a checkered sheet of paper, and that method had left you in a mindset that would magically let you plan everything perfectly in factorio on the fly

>>

I'm not quite sure myself.

I guess when I built the Driftmaster Spectrum B, I was adversting quite actively in ingame and lobby chat.

At some point, when it had reached like 30 sales, it just gained traction and more and more kept selling until apparently everyone who cared about cars had one.

I've not been able to reproduce those sales numbers, but I've also not been trying as hard.

I think it's OK on the intuitive side, but it's not good by any means. not being able to place stuff directly on wings is pretty annoying for instance.

Bit annoyed they show helicopters in the videos and pictures, but looking into it I think they're only actually doable by workarounds - there are no helicopter parts. Heck even flaps in my earlier screenshot >>147448973

What if I told you we plan to release tonight

Lots a little things need to be done and or fixed, such as all the modules weighing the same because of this little bastard in a script in the loading function.

gameObject.GetComponent<Rigidbody> ().mass = 0.1f;

We still have no idea why that was in there, but we assume it had to do with initial testing.

I'm currently rewriting the readme and Sterik is fixing some physics that had to be redone because of the weight system being actually used properly.

You get weapon mounts - fixed, turreted and whatnot, and weapons that you put in 'em.
If someone blasts the turret and the weapon is intact, it becomes a "fixed" mount so you can still fight.
>>
>>147500067
Ayy I'll see what I can come up with. I hope I don't ask too many that you've already answered.

What kind of weapon types do you have planned? Hitscan stuff, lock on torpedoes, mines, chaff, etc.

Will there be heavy and light armor along with the regular plating?

Do you guys have any plans of ground combat? Ground vehicles mean demolition derbies

Will there be a type of testing grounds mode, where we can shoot our own ships without the AI murderizing us?

What are your plans for game progression, if any? Will there be different tiers of equipment to unlock, or will it all be available from the start?

I could probably think of more but I don't want to take 10 years to reply

>>147500067
These questions are entering the hypothetical realm because I love competitive games.

If this is a duelling game, is there going to be a ranking system? And what are your plans for keeping the game somewhat balanced while allowing players to fight a decent variety of enemy playstyles?

Competitive builds always go for consistency over flashiness. I expect serious players to go for hitscan weapons 99% of the time, so to keep variety I hope you guys follow a formula of reliability being weaker, with stuff that's more difficult to land being powerful.

Looking forward to it.

I missed the questions before, but I'm curious. In the demo vids there was just cubes and basic shapes in the arena (reminds me of mech Enders Game)

Will there be more detailed environments, like a faux factory/space-station?

will it be destructable?
>>
>>147503664
What?
>>
>>147504141
>will it be destructible?

We plan to. Actually already can, dynamically within the editor. The level of resolution on how destructible it is will be far below what the ships are, for performance reasons. In any case, it'll be way more than what most games give you. Most of the shit in the arena should be able to be destroyed in firey goodness or a pixel clusterfuck no problem, we just attach a health bar to a thing. Shoot it enough with the corresponding type of ammo, and it goes away. Useful if some twat is hiding behind a bit or playing hide and seek.

>Will there be more detailed environments, like a faux factory/space-station?

Oh fuck yes. If you look to the side, there's a station attached to the arena. More like that, less like paint ball arenas. We plan to have official tournament arenas in this very simple paintball-esc style to facilitate focus on the opposing player, but it will be bigger and better and more complex and blah blah blah. We're working on it, but the game's core systems are more important.

And here comes in common sense and belt managing 101
Dismantle that 3x3 square made of belts
Redirect the belt right after last belt making assembler so it goes 'down'
Now lay new belts so they fall into the old belt from the bottom right next to inserter assembler

Here, all your problems here are fixed.
Until you'll try to expand that and die of lack of space.

What he means is, the belt loops back into itself, and these kinds of loops are never required, and always come with many problems (all of which you are going to have). You have science ingredients going to your science assemblers, which is great, but then you have green science going back rounds to itself, and also to the science ingredient assemblers. None of this is required and this kind of setup will cause you trouble.

Anon, here is your homework for belt-management-101:
Make a factory with no loops
Make a factory with no smart assemblers
Learn to split belts efficiently with splitters and with single-underground belts (pic related)
Never place more than one type of item on one side of the belt. (like you did with the copper input)

Shit I'm retarded. I mean science ingredients feed back to themselves.
Not only do they loop around, but they all get forced onto one side of the belt, meaning you have two different types of item on one side of the belt. Since belts take less time and ingredients to make than inserters, you will end up with an excess of them on your belt and things will get clogged.

By keeping a single item per side of the belt, you can make sure that clogging is an impossibility, and if things get backed up, they just stop harmlessly.

I copied your exact setup and made a quick belt edit. Pic is a simple solution to the problems you will inevitably face.

Yeah, with a three ingredient item you have two main options.
The simple and logical solution is to have two belts on one side of the assembler, and use long inserters to get to the far belt. Have a single output belt on the other side of the assembler.

However, if you want to go for maximum speed and space-efficiency, you could use just two belts. One belt holds two of the ingredients, and the other belt hold one ingredient and the output item. Given that space really isn't that much of a concern, I wouldn't worry about this unless you really want to. Space-efficiency is just a favorite engineering problem of mine.

One other thing to keep in mind here, if you want to go crazy you could use underground belts to squeeze four belts into a two-tile wide space (I think it's 4:2, I haven't used this much myself).

Here's a pic of a little experiment factory I did, trying to keep my main bus to a 5-wide lane. See if you can follow how all the belts work, it might help you make your own.

no, robocuck did nothing with legs, from the devs point of view, its just a wheel with a set animation and a different workings, they are not actual legs. the whole thing is made from 1 piece (no joints) and they work the same way as wheels (go forward, backwards or turn)
The legs im talking to are more like the ones in spengos, without the CLANG involved.

to be hones, the fuked up part with spengos is how each grid has its own weight and inertia asociated with the rotors, its just a big ball of fuck ups.
the solution is actually quite simple, rework the physics involved in joins so they dont affect the whole thing.

for example, this walker use pistons to move the joints, because rotors are too weak.
So in this case in particular, nothing happens.
>>
>>147512756
We actually looked into Spengos source code for information about how, where, and why its so goddamned terrible.

It was horrible.

I'll spare you the details, but what we learned is to never attempt dicking around with grids. What they did right was 'baking' each grid physics system into a solid mass, which is why that shit doesn't break apart anywhere near realistically. Its what we're going to be doing with large masses of small struts that are connected, so they make larger struts. Doing it with the whole ship would be a mistake. Even with your proposed system, that wouldn't work for REM, given the structural integrity physics. Having a single point, or even a dozen points, where a leg turns, for example, would be where all the stress is localized and it would either rip off or CLANG if we turned up the weld strength. Adding enough rotors to stabilize it might work, but it would be really awful and not suitable at all for movement, much less combat.

But for legs styled this way, with rotors only.
You need to set the limits of the rotors in degrees.
Using the knee as an example.

The standing position will be 0° and the sitting position will be 90°
Those are the limits, so what you will do is, to set those limits and apply to both rotors (the joint) the rotating force to keep the knee in his standing postion, the imput is in RPM, so i.e. you put -5rpm wich will be the max speed, and then you play with the torque to reach an equilibrium when the knee tries to get the standing position softly.

The problme starts when the knee is already in the standing postition (0° limit) and the forces are still being aplied, this is why spengos transfer the torque to the whole thing, but spengos forget the differences in masss between the 2, and the whole thing start to spin.

Its like you push your finger so hard that your entire body start to spin because the force is enough to move your finger only...

>>147512561
Part clipping like guns and engines clipping through armor? I don't like it honestly. It means someone can almost perfectly protect their various parts without having to sacrifice structural integrity. It also takes out the fun of minimizing weak points and building around them. I don't think it should be a thing, but that's just me.

An AI tournament might be cool. What if you piloted a bunch of anon's ships against each other, with you taking turns piloting each one? Kind of like taking two M&Ms and having one squish the other. That would work a bit more like a tournament and it'd show off our ships a bit more.
>>
>>147513398
>Kind of like taking two M&Ms and having one squish the other

Made me giggle

Sounds good though. Part clipping is something we'll fix soon, but you'll still be able to clip a little bit into the model of adjacent parts. Thrusters will have to be exposed to function in the future.

Three matches in either ship, ship with most wins total wins, seventh match as tiebreaker.

>>
Mech legs seem like a big waste of time, not gonna lie. Even if their physics worked perfectly, no one would use them because walkers are slow as hell and too easy to incapacitate by taking out their legs. No one would ever use them unless it was in mech only battles which would be fun as fuck

The walker you posted is how hitler saw the tank race.
make it bigger, and bigger and bigger, forget if its slower, i want the 88 flak in that shit...
make it bigger bigger and more big, i want a naval cannon in that shit, dosent matter if it can cross a simple bridge.

this is why people think mechas are not good, making it heavier and slower will kill the idea of having legs at atll, because they are easier to hit, an thus easier to take it down.
with something agile, and fast, this wont happen, and that is what mechar were ment to be allways, something faster and more versatile than a tank or a ship.

Not too far at all, unfortunately. I got as far as figuring out how I would do it, but then the thought if putting in all the dozens of rails and timing mechanisms and reset switches and individually coding each letters into the blocks...
Ended up suffering a crisis of motivation.

I've got a good idea of how to do it now at least. I'll probably end up revisiting it in a couple of months.

Basically each letter would be stored in those brownish boxes (I hadn't cut them for the cam followers yet) stacked on eachother in A. The letters would be picked by a 5 bit code so that you could program it by dropping in punched card things. The letter-cam would drop to the bottom once selected and be pushed to B where a cam follower on each side would read the slopes and translate it to the bottom left box thing which would write a letter.

It's more a printer than a writer automaton now that I think about it. eh.

I saw a wild Gohana and it made me happy.
There's a huge city about forty minutes away, and while it's literally voted the most livably city in the world, I couldn't stand actually living there. Cool to visit but.
Stars and Gohanas man.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goanna
It's spelt a few different ways.
There's a biology book on literally my shelf that spells it Gohanna.
They're about as big as an alligator (They don't live here, Crocodiles are a mile bigger, so just a guess) sometimes.
Here's a picture of the ones round here, their colours and patterns are different depending on where you go.
There's sneaky spotty ones on an interstate road that'll come up to your car for food. It's pretty legit.

The point values are broad enough in spectrum that it doesn't add too much difficulty, just would cause some strange splitting hairs situations if you weren't careful.

Totally reinvigorated for FtD now.

Pretty much any Saltwater Crocodile is missing one or two arms, still about 30% faster than the fastest sprinters on earth.
They're not belly draggers like Alligators, they gallop.
They're totally impervious to eachothers bites except their arms, so they literally just take them off in the tiniest scuffles.
It made me really sad when I saw it happen, but I guess that's just how they do things.

What happens if you make a jaw shape in FtD and close it around something
Will it make FtD Clang

inb4 crocodile evolution goes into T-rex mode with ridiculously short arms - only to deny competitors of food.

I have a friend who loves engineering games but always manages to build incomprehensible spaghetti and/or clang that somehow still works. It's not like he's bad at the game, he knows all the important ratios and builds perfect defenses, however tracing production chains on his bases is totally impossible.

Quite a lot. Instant simulations in builder, maybe not. At least for a while. But you will be able to calculate what sort of penetration somebody would need to get through a particular section and at what angle, and what caliber would simply overmatch. Centre of mass, Centre of thrust, thrust to weight ratio and predicted speed/acceleration. More to come as time goes on.
>>
>>147543881
Then better have some good test bench, to test yourself recieving fire from different directions to see how it works.
Never saw that in a game before.
Like put the ship inside a sphere, and select the direction of the shoot, so you can know and see your weak points, and reinforce it, or just know that they are there so you can avoid fuck ups.
