Start of 2014, I was in a really shitty place. Was an antisocial son of a bitch, really. Funny thing is, the anon who saved me didn't really do anything spectacular. Hey guys. I see we're all getting things off our chest now, so I guess I gotta say something too. Figures I'd be late. Blogposting isn't my thing so I won't divulge too much.

If I had to say what my biggest problem is, it's that I'm a coward. I wouldn't describe myself as a doormat, but I've endured some humiliating things because I was desperate for acknowledgement or because I convinced myself that it was a necessary evil. Ultimately this lead me to hanging around the wrong people and ruining my future, all for nothing. I am still ashamed, to the point that I avoid talking to my old friends at that time (not that I had many), and my relationship with my family is strained. Maybe it's just because I'm older now, but I can't help but think that if I had the balls to challenge others at any point before, my whole life would be different. As it is right now, I live so far removed from that period yet I still struggle with those same doubts and fears that caused me to be live that way. I have little else to do but self reflect, and after a while I came to learn some unpleasant truths about myself. It's... humbling. And while I wouldn't say I'm any happier, its peaceful to understand myself a bit better. That's part of the reason why I try to encourage you guys so much, I want you to have that catharsis for yourselves. All this doubt and self loathing you may have doesn't have to be a burden, because if you can admit your faults you can begin working on them. At the end of the day, we're not so bad.

I don't know if you guys can relate to that but I hope you can see where I'm coming from and why I continue to stay here. The most I can do for you is be a shoulder for you to lean on and tell you what I learned from my experiences at least. But that's all I can do for you, you need to help yourselves too. If you can persist and love yourself despite all your troubles, then maybe someone else can too.
