Actually Bethesda's gun design is fairly common.

Both STALKER and CSS are known to use the left handed everything design on most of their guns.

Before the age of MUH MODERN SUPPER COOL SO REAL! FPS it was actually the norm to make everything on the left becuase it allowed players to see the reload animations easier as a visual cue.

Outside of the Pipe gun, Laser gun, Institute Laser gun, Plasma gun the majority of weapon mods fall to barrels, larger mags and stock or grip. A few let you change scope.

The only way to add animations to the game is to inject them through a third party tool. This is how FNIS operates for Skyrim.

Basically a code wizard with time, patience and actual drive to work for free has to make software that allows people to insert their own animations.

Hm I think I may actually have some version of the 64 bit SDK then if it was free to download previously, I remember before the takeover Havok's webpage had a section where you could download the entire catalog of SDKs and libs, pretty much every stable version of the SDK was on that page. I didn't know they took it down.

Does FO4 need a specific version for its animations or does it just need to be authored with some version of the 64 bit plugin/tools? Cause if it's not reliant on the absolute latest version then the one I have should work. I have a version from 2012 and another from 2014

Havoks business model literally depends on being as locked down as possible. Why do you think that anyone who might wants to use their SDK needs to apply by filling out a form? Company(developer), publisher, graphics engine, budget, past projects, estimated retail price of the product and loads more and if they think you're worth their time they'll send you an estimated licensing fee. Theoretically, as long as you can get a skeleton in, you can animate it like any other rig, and then export the animation as .hkx or whatever right?

If so that means the only real barrier to custom animations is that the tools aren't readily available since the site that hosted them is gone. However, since the versions of the SDKs you could get there were free to use for non commercial usage, there shouldn't be any legal issue with using the tools to author new animations.

all that shit in the back(front?) prevents its turret from turning a full 360 degrees, there's literally no reason to add a second gun unless it's an anti-air gun like the ZSU-57-2, it has 4 sets of tracks, a giant object over one of the pairs of tracks that further disables the turret traverse, its front(?) has no sloped armor of any sort, it's just a giant slab

Also another way you can tell it's probably SPART is the fact it has no secondary guns and the limited ROM of the turret. A tank would have some sort of MG mounted on it to deal with infantry and even modern SPART generally has limited ROM on the turret.

For anyone who was doubting that the 2014 version of the Havok SDK wasn't correct to use for FO4, simply opening one of the .hkx files in notepad++ shows this.

So it seems the SDK I uploaded is in fact the proper version to use for FO4, which means anyone who wants to make animations now has little excuse except that we have no real way to actually use them outside of old specialidle tricks possibly.

I'm working as fast as I can!

I have to recalculate the normals for each hair, still in the process of doing that. Gotta load each Obj in blender to do this.
Then fit them all to the female head. That would take a few hours.
And THEN I'd need to give them physics. That would also probably take a few hours for that many hairs.

This would have taken forever if each hair had its own specific textures.

I doubt it. Skyrim has a 64-bit executable but still uses the 32-bit version of Havok. Space Engineers does the same thing.
As far as I know, there are no plans to re-tool the game to use 64-bit Havok for the remastered release. Skyrim is _way_ too mature of a project for that too happen.

I was happy with the Brotherhood really. I mean sure there are ways they could have been improved but they felt 'finished' to me and fleshed out as a faction.

The Railroad was similarly fleshed out in terms of it quests and NPCs, but lacked history prior to your arrival beyond losing their old HQ. The issue I had with them was the overall design choice. They lose their badass pre-war DIA base hidden under a donut shop before you arrive, so you have the tiny little crypt instead? Likewise, they made them waaay too 'muh synths' to the point where it makes them unlikable as a group, they should have made them more like a general anti-Institute resistance movement, more in line with Deacon's wannabe secret agent thing that Desdemona's social justice crusader.

Institute was just mishandled on a general level to me. I've heard dozens of alternate ideas for them that sound infinitely better than what Bethesda ultimately went with. Even their own concept art suggests a bio-engineering theme that was dropped in favour of generic and boring generic 50's utopian designs. And again, waaay too focused on synths. They should have had other technologies and crucial, goals and motivations beyond 'make synths', even if synths are the focus of the game.

Minutemen feel like a last minute placeholder faction to give the player a 'neutral' ending like Yes Man, which is good in theory, but their quest like is barebones, radiant quest spam is insufferable and they're so moral and selfless that you can't really play an evil character and use them to just destroy everything else, like you could with Yes Man.

The top of the glacis looks like the top front of the 50s aesthetic automobiles. I think they got it from there. It could be stamping high grade materials using re-purposed automotive factories.

The dual guns could increase firing speed. While one gun is being loaded the other is still available to fire. The issue is whether or not they could fit double the breaches/loaders plus the gunner and commander in the turret all at the same time.

The things on the front could be used to attach equipment like a bulldozer blade or mine flail.

It could have been designed by a committee, with restrictions due to material shortages. There could have been corporate interests and corrupting that let people meddle in the design process for their own enrichment.

Probably fallout. In Elder Scrolls, its pretty safe most of the time in cities and towns, and even just walking around is fairly safe especially in a decent group.

In fallout you're almost guaranteed to die if you go exploring without significant prep time and being well armed and equipped. The environment will make you sick, the food will make you sick, the drugs are highly addictive... it's just total nuts desu.

I would say that it depends on what's happening. Day to day life, definitely the Fallout universe. Like the other anons said, there's radiation exposure, dangerous mutants with sick-making meat on their bones that makes every meal a gamble, and you never know when a ghoul is going to crawl out of a storm drain and make chomp on you.

During the Events, though, I would say the Elder Scrolls universe is more dangerous. Bands of Daedra bursting into cities from nowhere, dragons roaming the skies, and ash worshipers of the Sixth House would make life a living nightmare for the regular citizen.

And then there's all the whacky shit the modders have done that's more interesting so far than what we have in Fallout, like that one that makes the Chiss from Star Trek or Wars or whatever attack Skyrim.

Not all of it, stuff like Butcher Pete was public domain, I'm not sure the Ink Spots were public domain but they have to have at least one song from them in every game because 'Maybe' is iconic.

Buffscale, I know you did some high poly vanilla armors a while back, by any chance, did that include road leathers?

None of these are likely options for an Obsidian game.

Obsidian has aid they want to do LA, and San Fran, If they do a game in the pacific northwest, it would be in Seattle, since its closer to Canada, and close enough to Portland for DLC there also.

Denver is stated in New Vegas to be entirely abandoned and overrun with dogs, Lanius mentions there was basically no tribes up there to enslave, which made keeping his armies numbers up difficult.

Bethesda has already said no Fallout games outside America, so no Mexico City, and theres no big city in Baja to begin with.

Phoenix and Two Sun are treated as nothing more but small pleb tier towns with little of interest in them.

In the vanilla game, Doctor Patricia comes in first with 748

and second and third are tied with Opal and Slim, both having 417 caps, two NPcs in the Boston ruins standing on top of buildings who serve as merchants and lookouts for the Railraod, though they offer their services to anyone.

the NPC in the vanilla game in a towen with the highest amount of caps is Deb in bunker hill, with 390 caps by default.


Experience OFC will vary if you have invested in them and gotten the bobblehead that gives all merchants another +1000 caps

Vault locations will likely be pre-set to accommodate the large cavern spaces the player has to dig out to build it as we see in the trailer.

Robots can be built any time past level fifteen. Robots do not consume food nor do they need to sleep. They can be built to farm your land, kill your enemies, haul your loot, and guard your home and they will do it all without complaint.

Mods were disabled during the Survival beta test, as they could've caused bugs unrelated to the beta, making any feedback/bug-report invalid.

The full release of Survival has been patched in a long time ago. Mods work just fine.
