I think the overall battle pacing in GER is closer to MonHun, at least in the way enemies behave and the time it takes to kill them, although they're pretty much different games since this is much more straightforward and fast paced.

You use the ammo you get from bosses and then press + triangle to shoot it at whoever has a red triangle over them while aiming, when you're playing with other people it's extremely easy to keep a whole team at level 3 so long as they all know how to shoot others. The entire thing becomes a rapefest given how fast OP and stamina recovers when you're at burst level 3.

The slow combat takes a bit more to learn, but there's no replacement for how satisfying every single hit feels in MonHun. The games are pretty different anyways, and GER is in no way inferior.

I'd honestly be kind of pissed if the story's pacing was anything like in Freedom Wars, but gladly that's not the case. It really doesn't get in your way if you just want to do missions, and the cutscenes aren't very lengthy, aside from the opening ones.

Hey guys so I fired up my Vita after about 3 years of not having used it.

I bought the Vita without knowing anything about how a large majority of its games cater to weeaboos. So I dropped the Vita just as soon as I began playing it. I hate everything anime -- the animation style, the cheerful vibes, the country it came from, the pretty boys, the waifus, the tentacle porn... everything -- but I want to start giving it a chance so here I am browsing the playstation store and the first thing I see is this God Eater game.

Looks good and I wanna play it. Everyone seems to be liking it for its gameplay so who cares if it's some kinda anime. Then I felt sick in my stomach after watching the trailer, it's like somebody just shoved machine oil down my throat. I'm a grown man this kind of 'break from reality' sounds really exciting but it all sounds a lot scarier when I begin to ponder the fact that I am at the mercy of these prepubescent kids with big swords and we can't get away from them because they protect us from the monsters. Is the size of their sword representative of the intensity of their tantrums? They're kids, man. But the game's downloading already so we'll just have to see.

My question is, are there any other titles worth looking into? Preferably some anime-related. I'm thinking of making one more purchase tonight. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried not using the extended attacks?

I get off quite a lot of individual hits pretty fast with the scythe making it pretty good for targeting weak spots. You'll need to flip your camera a lot to get them to all go where you want if you're just ground combo-ing though. Extended attacks are more for safe reaching or multiple hits on larger targets. I use it more frequently on enemies that don't really have a weakspot but are still long in length. Jumping Triangle is a straight and narrow attack that cleaves through multiple parts and makes lining up attacks for the weakspot on essentially anything really easy.

Really, I just like scythes as a choice of weapon since maybe I'm a bit chunni and just made the weapon work for me. Who knows? I haven't tried out any other weapon yet.
