Still haven't started the Eternal Stairway yet. I've got several things on my mind before I start. Like, when's the best time to recruit the kids (I have Percy, Shigure, Midori, Nina, Velouria, and soon enough Siegbert available). I'll also need at least one or two of them on my team because I actually have an extra spot on my team and I don't know who to give it to. I'll be using the child maps for extra EXP and if applicable extra items as well. Then there's the matter of reclassing. I'm currently a Lv 10 Paladin and I feel like I should go back to Nohr Noble to get Draconic Hex. I also feel like I should reclass Kaze to Mechanist for Replicate, then back to Master Ninja, and I also might want to reclass Xander for Axebreaker (partnered with Charlotte), but that'd require three levels, a Partner Seal, and a Heart Seal to reclass him back to Paladin. Finally, Niles. I married him to Mozu so he could potentially get Sniper skills which should help his damage output (which admittedly is a bit low, even though he's been Str blessed). But basically for all these reclasses I'll need a whole bunch of Seals and I only have so much money. I have to figure out what's the best choice for everyone, and on top of that, I'll still need to figure out what weapons and staffs I should be buying.

Also, just because you do the kid chapters doesn't necessarily mean you'll use them. That's true. So four levels into Hero then. I'd be worried that the loss of movement might be a bit of a hindrance though. If I wanted super-powered guys, I'd just save, recruit an Einnjar, load all my stat boosters on it, update the unit logbook without saving & then go to a random map & bookmark without saving. Ragnell is ok. It's actually got an excuse for looking ragged and broken, and for not having sword beams. That said, throwing the Sword that is literally being held together by bits of tape at a heavily armored foe is probably not the sanest choice you could make.

Dark Knight is one of those classes that is pretty shit and is only useful for the skills (Lifetaker in this case)

That being said, Corrin can probably do better in it than most can because his Strength and Magic growths are both good enough that he won't be crippled by the mixed offense of the class, which is what makes it awful for most others.
