I've heard Hayato in Rev but I never used him because I can't stand his Jap voice. Orochi in BR was usable, but if you're willing to use DLC, I suspect she'll make a kickass Dark Falcon with Bolt Naginata. Nyx is unusable in both routes.

Nyx only really has Heartseeker going for her, which Orochi can grab with a buddy seal on Revelation. Hayato starts with passable bases but has split offenses like the other spellcasters and horrid skill(which Oni does no favors with). If you have Grandmaster access he's easily your best spellcaster out of the three, and that will get him better skill than any of his other options. Witch and Dark Falcon both help fix Orochi's speed though, which is her only real flaw aside from being unable to take a hit(and needing arms scrolls if you intend to use Bolt Naginata without grinding super weak stuff).

Grandmaster is pretty much the only way to salvage Odin on higher difficulties, his high skill means he'll activate Ignis often as well, which helps with whichever stat falls flat(usually magic).

Grandmaster has the best skill growth out of all of Hayato's class choices aside from the magicless Blacksmith, so it's useful for helping him to hit things more than anything else. Speaking of Blacksmith, Lancebreaker from that would probably be useful if you plan to end in it, get him to Levin Sword range so he has that as a magic option first though.

Leo isn't as great on the strength side as the other two, but the extra damage from Ignis would definitely help him out if he intends to make use of non-magical swords(such as getting to C rank without an arms scroll). He has access to Rally Res to stack with Rally Spectrum on the more supportive side of things, and if he marries Sakura he can get Rally Magic(or rally speed from Azura if you intend on going Falcon Knight for Bolt Naginata or something later, though I usually use Dark Falcon for that, which has Rally Movement by the way). Probably not the best first choice for Grandmaster, but if you don't mind doing the map for it 3 times then it might come useful with the right skills combinations.

Not too sure about Hayato but I do want his daughter, and since this is Rev, any character can work.

Leo would probably like Vengeance or Rend Heaven as he is bulky and they have high activation rate. Grandmaster while helping him with his Skl and provides aura skills, will probably kill his Spd even more though. I still feel that Sorc or Dark Flier are his best side reclass options. Maybe even go Samurai for better Skl, Spd, Lck, and Vantage. Though since he's a mounted unit, Rally Spectrum will be great on him.
