Here's a preinstalled AA2 torrent for anyone who wants to install the game without going through the actual installation procedure. It pretty much has 2 steps to make it work.

We had an alternative Maker Mays where we compiled color-themed classes of cards by all the people here. So I'm having this weird issue where aa2 crashes when [config] is clicked, regardless of sub or no sub and regardless of JSF, english, or the vanilla launcher. Locale is fully set to japanese, I'm not using an applocale that could contradict this. I just finished a clean reinstall of the core files, HEX mods and subtitles and it's still happening.

It effectively is. Definitely not the same place it used to be a year ago. Lost a lot of regulars, and unfortunately we don't really do much anymore. Lots of shitposting and such, the usual fate with generals that stay up longer than a year.

The tmanons are both gone and ditto for 2huanon. Both made a lot of stuff before they left though and those are in the HEXA packs, which have been expanded a decent amount in the past year. They're in the usual place. Other than that there are a lot of other mods that have been made, but nothing ground breaking. Game is essentially the same exact deal as it was a year ago, just with a few more options. We're all pretty much jaded at this point and just waiting on AA3 or AG4, but Illusion keeps throwing crap at us. Same old story. But I think within their next two releases they'll probably do an Artificial title since it's around the time that they usually do.

Did you not play SBPR?

It was a fucking train wreck. People were getting 20-30fps on GTX 970/980, a lot of people getting 5-15 fps with ok hardware, you had to manually fiddle with settings to turn image quality down, # of NPCs down, and # of girls on the map down to get a barely playable framerate. They only partially fixed this over 3 months with like ten patches.

Never trust another open world game from Illusion on Unity engine again, they clearly don't know how to use it.

Actually making the girls is the best part beacuse you sort of get attached to them more and makes it great. So try that out. If you are playing what I like to do is take it slow a bit and fuck on the last period or something like that. You can try to make your own goals like try to have a relationship with all the girls at one time or try to fuck somebody with an evil girlfriend something like that. I don't know if you want a small history and technical lesson in AA2 or not, but since I've nothing better to do you're getting it.

The reason why pre-installs have been a bit of a black sheep in the past is because of irreversible changes they tend make to the original archive structure. The very first pre-install for v4 included many mods, which ended up making patching it with official updates impossible. This can also affect mods to a small extent, in that it's possible that a mod being installed modifies some file that has already been modified in the pre-install and it causes the game to break - uncensor mod stacking or that dongfire UI mod that breaks the UI if you try to replace it are examples I can think of.

I avoided this by installing the only mod that modifies archives (translation) using the included AA2Install. Since AA2Install is, to the best of my knowledge, completely self contained - once the registry is set up for the game to run it's possible to reverse the mod installation for the sake of patching or further modding. The only files that are irreversibly modified are AA2Play.exe and AA2Edit.exe, but official patches to date have overwritten those without checking for integrity so I doubt that's much of an issue. All of this is done under the assumption that there will be an official patch for the game in the future which I very much doubt. I just like being thorough. Not thorough enough to write a patching guide though.

There's no benefit to using a manually installed game over a proper pre-install. Unless someone has thoughts as to what advantage manual install could have. I'm interested.

If the pre-install has really improved since I last saw it, then I'll admit to not knowing that. Though I feel the fact you have to add the word 'proper' shows it is still not foolproof, as with anything.

I feel the manual install is already simple enough. Though it all comes down to preference.

the new pre-install was compiled very recently so it's different from the old one. I haven't tried it yet but in principle the main problem with no installs is the retards who tend to use it. This one is minimalistic with only translation applied and a few tools included.

You have full control with pre-install. I didn't install uncensor mods. Only mods installed are the ones that are needed 100% for someone who is not a native Japanese speaker to play and mods that are just quality of life. The mod installs are also reversible (in case you actually are a native Japanese speaker) so you have full control over your mods.
The word proper is there because just like the quality of a manual install, the quality of a pre-install depends on the person who installed it in the first place. If it was installed by a muppet who doesn't know full well what he or she's doing it's going to be bad one way or another.

Manual install is anything but simple if you don't understand Japanese. The installation guide doesn't even have a detailed instruction for patching the game (it's in the supplementary image) so I wouldn't be surprised if some people managed to fuck that up without ever noticing. Game should work in frankenstein mode even if you fuck up. I mean yeah, for me it's easy to manually install because I don't need the guide and I know every single problem that can potentially arise from the process that doesn't have anything to do with the OS, but even I'd prefer a no-install because it save time. Doesn't require admin rights either. Non admin account would normally require manual registry fixing even with a manual install procedure.

Speaking of fucking up, Illusion are assholes for leaving this disabled by default.

I'm in a bit of confusion here, my game has been working just fine until recently the characters seem to be randomly rejecting my talking interactions.

I will speak to them about anything from Daily Life to Lewd for the first time in the day and they will tell me I'm being 'persistent'. Where did I fuck up?

Kinda new to this guys, anyone know how to fix? I used Reiedit to change the color of the sclera but the eyebrows also change color. Attempting to change it back also changes the sclera back. Do they have to be the same color or am I just doing this wrong?

you mean setting the material the same as the hair's? It doesn't work. My guess is it's because hair is processed separately from head and body. Same reason why you can't use pubes color as well. You can basically utilize the materials from the same .xx and only brows make sense (I tried using one of the eyes once but it will apply the eye texture to the sclera as well so I scrapped that)

Hey guys, story time again:

I'm one of the newfags to this game and made an all-girl sexy time school. Long story short, my game got thrown for a loop when I tried the PC Auto feature for one day, and I had to spend time smoothing out relationships that my auto-controlled character destroyed. Exhibit A: Nakanuma Urara is a piece of shit! I used to think that she was cool, but she's suddenly insulting me non-stop in the hallways. Everyone else clearly thinks badly of her too, and the few allies I still have warn me about her constantly. Thankfully she can't beat me in a fight, as I've decided to beef up after my first beat down from Miho. Still, not everyone is so fortunate; poor Rina especially has the bad end of things, and has been made into Urara's plaything. I didn't know much about it, but I imagined a hot scenario where she would force me into a bathroom and have her way with me. Anyways, Samurakami Haruna is a qt3.14 who's sad all of the time, and seems to be extremely receptive of Love conversations. Well thanks to the Buddha Statue, I found out that not only are Haruna and Yuuki a couple, but that Haruna being two-timed by Yuuki and Kanano Ai. I've read and learned more about the game, and apparently Evil characters will never let a lover break up with them. Haruna is constantly depressed because her life is an NTR hell that she can't escape from! If Haruna dares to escape her misery and pursue a loving relationship that makes her happy, Yuuki will guarantee a sweet, blissful death.

Everyone else is either easygoing or can keep their problems to themselves. But these two, man - they're just asking for someone to put them in their place and to free the people that they're making miserable. As the master meddler, I need to find a way to help the poor victims out, but I'm not satisfied with using god powers and just transferring the problem students out; this has to be done legit.

I know my mission: I must initiate a romantic relationship with both Urara and Yuuki. Once I get on their good sides, I need to convince each one that the other is a cool person worth their time. If I can push the two into being a couple, I can get Urara to cheat on Yuuki with me, thus pushing Yuuki over the edge and ending both of their time at this school. Your days of making trouble in our happy yuri school are numbered, bitches!

Once I beat normal, I'll look into playing around with mods and really open up the sandbox experience.
