Best tool against pretty much every monster is to spam dodge (not roll). You can easily whittle down high levels monsters by just smacking them a few times, dodging to the side, repeat ad nauseam.

Honestly though, I'd recommend just coming back to deal with the wraith later. Loot is scaled but zones aren't, meaning you're putting in a shit load of extra effort for level 8 gear.

You should really always try to use the slowmo and as for that it's really a matter of learning the timing.

I tried to find a good video that would showcase it but none really did, so I don't know what to tell you. You need to get a feel for the hitbox on the sword. It's kind of janky. You need to let go of your mouse button with a slight delay in my experience. Time the follow through with your approach while accounting for the timing of the animation.

Once you know the timing you should be able to land it pretty damn consistently. I can when I'm on the ball, even at high speeds.

Did you not understand Ciri's characterization in the game? I have read the books, yes, and I know that book Ciri would want to be a witcher. But by the time the game rolls around, she's changed. Being around her mentor and savior Avallac'h changed her outlook on life. The finale of the game revolves around the fact that she now wants to save the entire world and has practicing for that exact purpose, she's gone through character development since the books. So yes, for game Ciri becoming an empress would be the most natural next step. This way she can keep helping more people than she ever could as a witcheress.

Hearts of Stone was wonderful, both because it built on the existing Novigrad map beautifully and because it was masterfully done from a writing standpoint, with the arguable exceptions of Shani being a bit rushed and O'Dimm being a bit too vague and sharing in a bit of a rushed reveal.

Blood and Wine is great, too, but in my opinion it almost feels like it could use an Enhanced Edition, like what Witcher 2 got. Or, in other words, the "oh shit we fucked up half the content of the end" edition: give us some Ciri, give us some Syanna, let's see both Geralt's family and Anna's family together and happy again, if we got that path. Give us the ACTUAL happy ending Geralt said he wanted to see, with no holds barred, for the final ride out.

I'm not sure if even an EE could properly improve BnW. They should have cut the map in half, the right side of it was barely utilized anyway by the actual story, added more depth to the main story, Syanna and Dettlaff, avoided the 3 day timeskip, fleshed out the unseen elder's path and at the end have us throw a small party with our old friends. I guess it's just the wasted potential that kinda pisses me off, it's not like CDPR didn't know how to do it better, but for whatever reason they just decided that fleshing out the world was more important than the story.

I loved Origins and I still do, but after seeing that BW turned DA2 into a quick cash-grab I haven't even touched it until last year. Though I only did a playthrough to understand Inquisiton's story better, it turned out to be an enjoyable ARPG with a Dragon Age skin on it.

Sure, is ok, gameplay is not bad and all but... God, the first chapter is horrible. Is literally 50% of the game.
And all the houses, all the caves, all the mines, etc they are all the same. Is terrible. And the endless waves of enemy appearing from nowhere! You can't plan anything cause you never know what you'll find. You can kill two guys in a room and Blam! Fucking magic, 10 guys jump from the roof.
So overall, it feels like a hack n'slash, which is not good if you are making a sequel for a good RPG

Okay I have been trying to play through the witcher 3 on hard and I am getting my ass kicked by everything. Right now im fighting the aborted fetus for the baron and as soon as the specters show up I get killed in a few seconds.
I played through the witcher 2 on hard because I found the normal difficulty too easy, but this just seems so unbalanced. My sword barely does any damage and Geralt is too slow to fight multiple enimies at once. Even fucking bandits are kicking my ass.

Should I just put the difficulty down or am I missing something?

My recommendation?
Use specter oil, use yrden, roll often and keep an eye on all the wraiths. As soon as one disappears, it means it will reaper soon behind you, so roll or something.

The moment you piece together your first witcher armor set (griffin) the game becomes easy mode, even on desu march.
It's always like this with Witcher games. In TW3 specifically try to AVOID COMBAT whenever you can, until you're strong enough. You get jack shit exp for fighting. And don't attempt to do high level quests.
Also don't let quests become grayed out, otherwise you'll only receive like 5 exp for them.
