Your choices mostly having very limited consequences is fine when you're a lone wastelander roaming around, that's fine. But in FO4 Bethesda in their infinite fucking wisdom gave you a whole faction to lead and several to influence and still thought it would be fine to apply the same, in some cases even more limited, consequences. That is not. Additionally your chosen skills and perks have no impact on the dialogue choices at all as long as you have enough charisma. That alone is unforgivable for a Fallout main series game.

You can tell him that you want to intimidate, coerce or seduce the NPC to affect the conversation, fuck, you can even just RP really fucking well and get the same. You can't do that in FO4 and only to a limited extend in FO2 and NV. But the point is that you can. Maybe you don't have the 8 charisma that you need to win the conversation but maybe you have terrifying presence or cannibal or 10 perception or 10 intelligence so you can catch him making a contradicting statement. Nothing happens to the Minutemen. Same as nothing really happens to the Minutemen if you do their faction ending. Preston remains as the radiant quest giver and possibly companion depending on whether or not you activate the Institute evacuation alarm. Minutemen patrols still exist too. And after the game the institutes remaining forces decide to attack the castle for whatever reason.

You can even kill off the Brotherhood with them should you become a bumbling retard for some reason.

They are a bunch of fools. Synths are legitimately machines programmed to be Human. This is why the institute can create Synths with specific intentions. Like Danse, he was programmed to be the ideal Brotherhood soldier and he was. Even the railroad reprograms Synths whenever they do a mind wipe and reset. Synths aren't supremely dangerous but it's a risk to keep them around in large numbers.

Gen 1 and 2 synths aren't a problem for me though. No different than a protectron or Mr. Gutsy. The problem arises when you give them "sentience" and disguise them as Human, Mayor McDoughnut is a good example. Or the Synth who was in charge of Libertalia, though that one was actually the Railroads fault. I went on a bit of a tangent there.

While playing as LIGHTNING MAN using only a tesla gun and pulse grenades and wearing tesla armor with tesla coils chest mod and tesla bracers on both arms. The only good work they do is exactly the "tell not show" that that New Vegas hater whines about. Doesn't help that the engine is still shit for heavily choreographed scenes. It's the same way in TES. Bethesda is much better off not trying to pretend that that hack Emil's work is stomachable, and just making sandboxes with most writing focused on the setting.

I asked a bit ago but Buff didn't know: is there a way to set script properties for terminal fragment scripts from the CK? have you seen it? that barrel jacket alone would weight at least 20 pounds, combine that with the 80 round magazine and the wooden stock/grip

that thing would be at least 30, if not 50lbs in real life. sure, almost practical for power armor if not for the shitty magazine size, but other than that, it's impractical in every single way. and since those magazines are about the size of a 150 round drum, yet only carry 80 rounds, you could barely get a soldier to carry more than 3 because they must be made of pure inefficiency.


the reason guns stay in service for long periods of time relies on several things:
1. if it works
2. if it's cheap
3. if it's not in a meme caliber
4. if it's not an overcomplicated piece of shit that melts
5. if it's easy enough to carry around in tons of gear

I'm trying to make sure that using two different compatibility patches, both calling AddForm() near each other, don't end up causing problems.
I have a form from with the base mod, with base objects from the base game, that a script uses with a GetAllReferencesOfType() call.
The compatibility patches for that mod call AddForm() to update the base mod's form with additional base objects to check. Right now I only have two patches going, and I am using a Wait() delay against their start-game enabled update quests (and I think all of it works fine).
Managing multiple delays will get hard to keep track of with more than a few patches though, and I was worried about causing a race condition if the form isn't updated by the time a Wait() delay ends.

Yeah. It was made worse with level scaling. I think I broke 5 Gatling lasers in Point Lookout. Just by shooting mutant hillbillies. But with FO4's junk system, I don't think it would have been NEARLY as bad if you could repair broken equipment with simple resources like steel, screws, springs, etc.

I could understand armor decay and maybe melee weapon decay, or make the decay way smaller and easier to repair. Like if you shoot a minigun too much that it begins to overheat, a screw or two melts and comes out. Gun loses 20% accuracy until the screws are replaced. You won't have to fix the gun with an entire minigun. And also perhaps making mods for the weapons that causes breaking to happen less often, like cooling kit for the minigun.

I'm honestly surprised weapon and armor decay wasn't added in the survival update, and made with a similar system to what I mentioned.

I always imagined it could actually be interesting as opposed to just this bland "Oh no I'mma need to repair this soon with exactly the same weapon" thing.

It would involve getting really into depth with it, but I like the idea of a weapon that, even with you repairing it, just gets kinda ratty and eccentric with overuse. I think the more you use a particular weapon, the greater chance it can gain things like legendary effects, but they should be both negative and positive.

Spring Cleaning is definitely fucked since the latest patch. I used to be able to scrap all of Abernathy Farm but now half the bushes aren't scrappable and neither is 95% of the building. Shit's annoying me because I finally decided on Abernathy for my manufacturing plant and now I can't because SC is borked.

Is Scrap Everything a viable alternative now that Spring Cleaning is apparently fucked? I was using Spring Cleaning because it says right in the description that it doesn't have the cell reset bug. But if I can do what I did with Spring Cleaning with Scrap Everything without a cell reset bug then I'll just switch to that.

Well, talked to a guy at bethesda and it turns out that custom behaviors are impossible ATM. Godzilla is on hiatus, unless I can find some way to make a script that cancels animations and plays another in its stead. I did figure out a fire breath script though, with some help from tk.
