You assume that they'll be available after the season is over. Blizzard will probably retire them and then release a whole new set of golds. Or silver. Or platinums. etc.


I really want to grind ranked for gold weapons but I don't really want to spend 300 e-peen creds per weapon if they're just going to retire their availability after the season's over.

And even if they're available indefinitely, there's nothing stopping Blizzard from releasing a new set of weapons every three months for 300+ wins each. Even if I win 100%, that's still 900-1500 rounds of games per weapon. Even if we're assuming 5 minute rounds, that's 75 hours to 250 hours of play time. Double if we're assuming 50% winrate. If I put my several years' worth of Dota into ranked (according to Steam), then I'd have...6-12 gold weapons.

Blizzard really fucked everyone in the ass with the 300 credit price tag, even if you're only meant to have one gold weapon at the most. I should've seen it coming when they unveiled the loot box system.

And I don't mean playing one hero more than others - that's normal, I pick Symmetra very often, the issue is with the fucks that will always pick "that hero" no matter the team's composition.

It's so fucking EASY to win in this game, but people DON'T want to.
Today I've just had another one of these episodes:
Hollywood attack. Team is pretty okay-ish, except for a Widow (Widow in attack is fucking useless unless you're a quake pro or you already know the enemy team and want to shut down particular heroes. In pub matches it never works 99% of the time because this is never the case, widow pickers just want to be the sniper)

Then our support, Lucio, leaves. I just switch to Mercy then. Another guy joins. He instalocks Tracer - a SECOND Tracer. Guess what happens? Both tracers are shitters, Widow sits back, takes pot shots and dies, our only tank and me struggle to penetrate their defenses and whenever we do we can't hold the point because the two tracers can't hold shit and widow is somewhere else. so we're playing with 3 heroes less, pretty much.
I beg them to change. with 60 seconds left, Widow switches to D.Va, one of the Tracers picks Reaper to help our McCree. Guess what fucking happens? We capture 90% of the point but then we run out of time.

We would have fucking won easily, but nooo, let's pick like absolute shitters. 90% of the times, an attack team needs 2 tanks, 1 Mercy/Lucio, 2 attackers/flankers, 1 anything depending on situation, nobody seems to understand this, even after level 100. Why.

Stick with the main "Ball" of your group, i.e. the especially tanky fellows. Manage your positioning so they're usually always between you and the bad guys.

Zenyatta is usually always played best when your team has a Reinhardt and a Lucio or a Mercy, though. Hide behind Rein's shield and throw Discord on enemy tanks and high-priority targets, and introduce your balls to people's faces.

This game is odd, it's really fun at first but once you care a bit about it and winning it becomes incredibly frustrating since at the end of the day every character has some bullshit "lol i got a freekill" skill.

Best example is Mei, she is completely fucking worthless and probably the worst character in the game yet not a single person likes playing against her because she's frustration personified.

All projectiles.
PROJECTILES. Meaning anything shot or thrown at you. Not beams (but it does block rmb zarya AND her ult if you stop the initial projectile, same with mei's ult), lightning, or melee attacks. This includes explosives, high noon, reaper ult, and even the initial arrow shot by RYUU GA WAKA TEKI WO KURAU. In fact if you block that arrow, the dragons don't even show up.

Don't play her as a tank 100% of the time.
No, really. Play her as a tanky flanker or skirmisher. Go around, get in close, your bullets are made of fucking packing foam unless you're right on someone. Hold defense matrix until something bad happens, like Pharah ult, reaper ult, stuff like that, or if your team is pushing, cover them with it. You can completely negate Pharah's ult by looking at her and pressing E.

Be on the move a lot. Boost, get to advantageous points, knock that widowmaker off her perch or get in her face and force her to move. Basically play her like Winston.

I feel like it would make characters like Tracer, Genji, and Reaper too strong when coupled with him. He could send an orb on to Reinhardt and they could melt him super easy, leaving the whole enemy team exposed.

Besides, most people can't stand directly behind the Reinhardt anyway. Lots of people run ahaead of him or too far to the side, so I can discord them pretty easily.

I sometimes ask myself, tracer runs around a lot, like really she is sprinting most of the time, not to mention how taxing on the body time travel must be even when restricted to short bursts or rewinds. To add to this point, most of overwatch's landscapes seem to be bright sunny maps in the middle of summer.

The point I'm getting at here is that Tracer probably builds up a lot of sweat with her antics, but how does it smell? So far I've imagined it as a sort of gentle wafting odor, but with a distinct hint of femininity, nothing pungent or musky, that would not be like her. Tracer is an athletic and lively woman, her scent should reflect these attributes.

But perhaps her suit also imparts its own attributes to her smell, a sharp acidity from latex or perhaps a more deep mellow taste of rubber? These things while present in the overall inhalation of her perspiration, would only accent her smell, they would not overpower her odor.

This inclusion of her bodysuit however does lead me onto another topic that I feel is criminally unexplored, as the outfit is quite form fitting and does appear to be made of synthetic material. How much does Tracer's outfit stick to her skin? Is it pliable but noticeably damp or would the removal be more akin to pulling off some adhesive from her skin?

Furthermore, how does her sweat interact with time travel? Would it be possible to wipe her sweat on someone, and repeatedly recall until they were completely covered in her delicious excretions? If however her sweat is recalled with her, then it should be possible to taste the exact same beads of her dew over and over again, it would be like pure bliss, a fountain of heavenly desire. Tracer would be able to fight off the evils of the world, and allow her beloved to drown in the pleasures of her own body, perfectly preserved in time as droplets of divinity.

These are some of the things I wonder about Tracer, does anyone else feel this way or am I alone in this?

I'll be generous and explain it to you, as others have done, but maybe you'll eventually get it or stop being shit:

- Tracer counters mercy HARD
- Genji counters mercy decently
- Reaper counters mercy
- McCree is okay
- Pharah with good aim is okay

Hell, I jump into teamfights and lock in Mercy with Symmetra, often, and get good results - she instamelts before people can react, it charges up my gun enough to instamelt attackers, then I go for tanks. Had some good triple kills like this.

Your team doesn't work? Your team has no healer? Your team doesn't want to work against the enemy supports? Doesn't matter if its Mercy, Lucio or Zenyatta: You. Will. Lose.

All Mercy needs is for the time it takes for her ult to charge to be tripled. She'd be ok then since her ult would charge slow enough that she couldn't just blow it on ressing single people like she does now, or if she does use it on a single person it won't be up again for the next few fights.

I honestly think Lucios ult is stronger in most cases.
Big resses often come after big wipes where the enemy team has the upper hand, a second life means jack shit when the enemy team can wipe you again asap.
Lucio's ult lets you push or hold unhindered even against a full team.

It might need to be slower charging and have a visual cue, but that's all, the ulti itself is fine.

Those stats are ridiculous.

It seems like mercy's ulti shouldn't be that crazy in theory, but its fast charge time and her great mobility take her from a hero who can make anyone a tank or a high damage hero to someone who can potentially keep infinite uptime for her team if they're not shitters.
I would probably suggest something like trading her ulti for Zenyatta's except make it so she can also super damage boost an area as well.
She would be the major burst heal support and damage buffer.
Lucio is still the damage mitigation support.
And Zenyatta would have an ability that rewards him staying close to the fight despite his shit mobility.

It's not. You're underrating the power of bringing your team back to life. Especially when ults are blown to wipe them in the first place. You blow resources to kill the enemy team, then when they come back you're missing those resources and will lose the 2nd fight.

There is a reason all teams MUST pick Mercy in competitive. If you don't have one you might win one teamfight, you can't win two in a row.
