I thought 3 was shit for what it was hyped to be. I know that sounds edgy but I think it was good they're laying the series to rest. 3 was generic as fuck, even more than 2. The only really decent areas were Archives (had a nice puzzle type design like Dukes), Profaned Capital (great aesthetic), Road of Sacrifices was okay except for the swamp.

The reason why the souls genre got steadily worse is because they listened to the whiny portion of the playerbase.

When FROM focused on balancing, all the fun went out the fucking window.

All the levels feel the same, wide open bright connected courtyards, no Sens fortress, blighttown, latria, tomb of giants.

All the bosses feel too samey, 'armored guy with greatsword' in wide open spaces.

No capra demon, no tag team bosses, no more tailcutting.
In DaS the only greatsword-style bosses were Artorias and Gwyn.

They focused on balancing pvp for duel's, which fucked over invasions hard.
And invasions is way more fun then fucking duel's, nor can you make that many interesting vids of the 10000th fight club.

Same goes for NPC and story, not even trying-level with DaS3 literal copy-paste the npc's from DeS/DaS.

I know Dark Souls 3 is easier than most Souls titles, but today I just beat Aldrich on my own for the first time. I usually summon for Aldrich and flounder around helplessly whenever I do, while watching the other guy carry me and only really going in very hard if the Phantom happens to die when Aldrich only has a little bit of health left. I thought, on NG+ he'll surely be a bitch and a half, so I summoned again. But today one of my summons sucked and I died before the other could really help me out much. So I decided to stop beefing up his HP bar with help that wasn't... really helping and I did it alone. Now I feel really good.

The level and world design is great and super appealing. All of the bosses are great. I even enjoy the gimmick dragon. He's FUN. Not every boss encounter needs to be fuck your face levels.

Man the deacons fight is INTENSE if you don't have proper damage to clear through them. I never even knew they had curse build up until just now. You really start to panic when you realize that you're on a time limit and that shit's about to go down.

Every deacon type has a purpose in this fight.

The small deacons shoot fireballs at you and create a wall for the boss.

The fat red deacons use force and jump on you to push you away from the boss. They also have high poise so you can't just slam them and push them away to get to the boss.

The tall red deacons are the ones creating the curse build up. I think they also help the boss create the curse ball projectile. When the ceiling turns dark, just kill one of them and the curse stops building up.

The fat blue deacons are the ones healing the boss and should be your primary targets before the boss and the tall red deacons.

Tanimura was hidden blessing. He tried to do things against the standard copy-paste Miyazaki does and was criticized for it. His team at least sent out patch after patch. Now we are left with a trash game for the lowest common denominator. Enjoy these "graphics" and "story" because Unused Bloodborne Assets 3 is the worst out of all the games in this series.

Out of 18 total locations, 8 can be cleared in under 5 minutes each, the game is linear as hell, half of bosses are garbage, no weapons, no spells, no fun allowed, only one new covenant that isn't shit, weapon arts are copypasted shit, half of npcs are memes, infusion system is horrific

Seriously, they are such a different boss when you can't clear them out effectively. I guess that one of the upsides to this is that some bosses are easy as fuck for you with certain characters while others aren't quite as easy. For example the crystal sage was quite a bit more challenging to me with my strength build than my pyromancer who can just shit out greater combustion for like, 900 damage before he can retreat. I kind of like this stuff, it makes subsequent playthroughs unique.
