I didn't like it on Vita, but it's pretty fun on the PS4. Vita players can play with PS3 and PS4 players as well because of cross-play, though. PC players can only play with themselves (haha).

It's a really good game, but Vita's probably the worst way to play it. Longest load times of any platform, and the controls aren't ideal. It works, but it's an easier game to play on other platforms.

That said, I don't know how active the PC community is but the PS4, Vita and PS3 playerbases are pooled together for that game, so it's still easy to group up. So if Vita's your only option out of the PS family and you're concerned about multiplayer (which you should be, Helldivers is a mediocre solo game), that's something to consider.

The thing with Shun is that it's a PS1 game from 1997 that didn't come to America until 2015, in part because the other 2 games in the series, the SFC original and Sayonara, were released on Vita with Sayonara UmiharaKawase+. Also Sayonara was originally a 3DS title and that was the series' breakthrough into America. Back to the point though, there are 3 mainline games in the series and Vita has 2 of them on the NA store. The third, which is the middle entry Shun, is on Steam and JP PSN but not NA PSN, which sucks as I'd love to have all 3 on my NA region Vita but can't. I do have it for my PS3 but that D-Pad is painful to use, I'd much rather use Vita's. Maybe the new American publisher, Degica, will release it on Vita too but for now I see no sign of it happening.

Ok, so I never really played a Visual Novel. The closest to one I've ever played was Lunar Silver Star Story, only because that game was so linear and barely had any gameplay to be called a normal JRPG.

I want to have a deep, emotional experience with one on my Vita. Would Virtue's Last Reward (provided I play 999 first) or Steins;Gate make me cry? The ending of Kingdom Hearts, Crisis Core, FFX made me cry like a small girl, if that helps you answer my question.

Steins;Gate has better character development. Okabe is one of the best MCs out there, whether it be VNs or animu.

999 and VLR has better storytelling and better gameplay by virtue of the various puzzles that you have to do in order to progress the story.

Get Steins;Gate. Takes its time with the setup but then it stops pulling punches and shit goes down. VLR, or really Zero Escape in general, is more of a "murder mystery meets Saw" sort of ordeal, without spoiling anything. Not really something that'll make you cry.
