I made this mistake yesterday. Logged in, made a character and decided I was going to play with some vidya bro's. Instantly I noticed that mobs agro at x2-3 their normal range, well that's ok I can just kite. Oh, when they die they respawn nearly instantly and they're INVISIBLE, you can't hit them NOR can you see them. Well, I guess I can deal with this, I can just run away. WRONG. Mobs don't have a tether range and will follow you until you die or kill them. I complain about this in gchat and what do I get "LEL UR SHTR M8 GlT GUD" "I NVR HAD NE PROBLUMS UR BAD M8". I'm bad for dying to invisible mobs who will never stop attacking me? Right virgins. If you're playing fury on ToD I would strongly advise you to steer away. Talk to Deimous or Shuya about how hellishly awful it is.
Fury is only good when you have nearly capped Arp, good weapons (i.e. Voldrethar and up), and around 50% crit. Otherwise you do no damage, have no rage, and still struggle with the reality of being melee.

I never played on GD. I played on retail, old Molten's Lordaeron, Dalaran, Sunwell and ToD in terms of wotlk. Only on ToD fury generation seems to be so varied, on all the others throughout an encounter the fury would be somewhere in between, where I'm not starved but won't spam spells either.

Sure, you bear a much heavier responsability on your shoulders, but it's so much simpler
Rotations and engages are short and easy, not to mention the many failsafes and OH SHIT buttons in case of dire situation
Can't do that with DPS, if you somehow fuck your rotation up, use a CD at the wrong moment, it's over for the rest of the fight, you'll be bottom of the damage chart and everybody will laugh at you

I tanked some 25hc in wotlk. Respect for the people who always play tanks and never quit because I already felt like killing myself out of boredom after 1 week.

DPS is stupid easy. I never enjoyed it, mostly healed, but tanks are obviously harder than dps.

But very rarely do any dps ever time perfectly. Meanwhile you miss a cool down as a tank should you have needed one (and don't have a good healer to cover your ass with GS, PS, Sac, etc) its very likely a wipe. DPS fucks up a cool down....don't do it again when it comes around the second time in your rotation.

The main exception to this being undergeared hard mode shit, like doing Herald of the Titans or Entropius where you really need the damage. And even there on 25 man one person doing so can cover for another failing.

Unironically this is our BIGGEST problem in the guild, and it's up to each person, new and old, to fix it themselves.
We shouldn't have to explain every boss every time we attempt it. Same goes for hardmodes, that shit won't fly.

It's alright, it's not GD icc but it's playable. Little stuff like saurfang adds still being tauntable, sindragosa iceblasts capable of spawning behind your icetombs on the stairs etc. It's not like some bosses are missing their entire spells, they do everything normally. Just those niche bugs a wotlk player would notice are there though.

Just a warning to anyone who is not Polish and thinking about rolling on ToD.

Today, while leveling an alt in an RDF group, a bunch of polish players have been constantly talking shit about me. Kurwa this, kurwa that. (I know they were talking about me because I was the only hunter in the group) I asked them what's going on, and none bothered to explain.
Anyway, after some time and more bashing from their part I got kicked from the group. Baffled by this, I proceeded to ask the guy who kept talking in chat what the problem was. He said I'm a noob and ignored me.
At this point, I need to mention that I wasn't doing anything that would indicate I'm a bad player. I was dpsing like I should be, had pet's growl off, wasn't ninjaing loot, etc.

This kind of toxic behavior wasn't the first incident, and I'm sure won't be the last. Today's incident frustrated me enough to speak up about it. I believe it's time polish players were made aware that it's no longer a polish server, but an international server and can't go around like the own the place. If they have any complaint, they should tell me in a language that I can understand, not talk shit and kick me for no legitimate reason.

Unfortunately, I couldn't screenshot everything they said, because by the time I was kicked, loot had filled out the chat.

there isn't really a big difference between cata and wotlk. heroics on wotlk are incredibly easy compared to cata. raids are pretty much on par although cata is more mechanically intense most of the time. you'll feel pretty much right at home playing wrath, they're both casualized versions of wow but with some challenge available to those who seek it.
