I think that plays into the difference between "Strict" and "Hard" that Wildstar's #HARDCORE image revolved around.

There are very few mechanics in Wildstar's raids that are overly complex and/or actually difficult to deal with.
The "difficulty" comes from the fact that Wildstar is very strict on a group's ability to handle those mechanics.
Most mechanics will either leave the player in a critical situation, outright kill the player, put the entire raid in a critical situation, or immediately wipe the raid when that mechanic is fucked up, there's just very few bits of red you can stand in and be okay.
The fact that there's no way to battle rez players also means these fuck ups are more impactful since there's a point where a player's fuck up can cause the raid to permanently lose power on a pull.
A healer can heal you all day, but once you're dead it's a 19 man or less attempt until it's over.

Basically the mechanics aren't any harder than other MMOs, you just don't get as many second chances.

a: constant squares you need to dodge always and forever

I'm actually surprised there is a general for this game to be honest. I heard it had like 5k players before the steam launch, and probably 8-9k after going on steam. That is actually less players than some WoW private servers which is crazy to me.

Even if the FTP went will it didn't really address the fundamental reason why people left in droves. The first raid (GA) attunement is better now, but game is still fundamentally flawed IMO.

The leveling is painfully easy where you just round things up and aoe them down because nothing is a threat. I had to find 5 man mobs called legendary champions that were like 7-10 levels higher than me to have fun on my Esper,

Then you get to dungeons and veteran dungeons. In the abstract I absolutely love the difficulty. I hated the game to the point where I uninstalled it a few times, but came back for the difficulty.

In practice though the designers made it difficult by using a lot of gimmicky practices. Massive overuse of telegraphs to the point where you spend spend your time looking at the floor and not the boss. Everything is timed and a bunch of bosses have one shot mechanics (skullcano, SSM in particular). It's just a recipe to burn people out by combining these two things IMO. I wouldn't want it easier though personally, but I think it's poor design in general.

Some shit like the red lines that you can't stand in don't even make sense. like the first boss of SSM, and the one that shoots you into the air then red lines appear. What the fuck is it? fire? ice? technology damage? it's like they said how can we make it difficult while spending the least amount of money possible? it reeks of laziness.

Some raid bosses have interesting mechanics like System Daemons. You're going to have to swim through a lot shitty design choices to get to that point though. You will prob be kicked from vet dungeons while learning mechanics by wannabe elitist faggots (finding a guild helps though).

I'm pretty sure most of the aurin escape with the Exiles, and only a few remained on Arboria to try and stop the chua Planet Reapers that are mass deforesting the planet. The aurin's goal is to eventually return to Arboria and reclaim their planet.

Actually, no. After the Dominion get their shit kicked in, they decide to fuck off and leave Gnox alone. To this day, the Dominion has never returned to Gnox.

The mordesh tried to create an immortality elixir, but the elixir corrupted into the Contagion, which infected literally the entire mordesh race (including Victor). The mordesh are now immortal but are perpetually in an almost-dead state; they must keep their bodies flowing with the Vitalus serum lest they become Ravenous (berzerk) and need to be put down. Victor is now tasked to the end of his days to find a cure for the disease.
