Sorry, but that's just a fantasy scenario.

The ball is completely in Tracer's court in the Tracer v. McCree matchup. It's only by her dropping the ball that McCree can shut her down.

It's a simple matter of kill efficiency, mobility and range. Without flashbang, McCree needs to twoshot her. Since his shots are at 0.5s intervals, she got plenty of time to react to getting hit. Meanwhile, McCree can't mitigate getting hit and can be burned down in a second. McCree's only way of outplaying her is by hitting the flashbang, but unfortunately she has very little reason to stay within 10 units of him while he is looking at her.

At this point, S:76 is a better counter to Tracer, since at least his healing station and consistent long range damage lets him stay alive and burn her down at range after she's spent her cooldowns.

The hardest Tracer counters are Roadhog (no safe spacing for Tracer) and Torb (nigh-instant lock with turret and armor for days. Luckily very weak against every other hero in the game).

What McCree DOES do though is that he can stop Tracer from contesting the point by zoning her out. This is usually very valuable, but it won't help you in a scenario where their Tracer is on fire and literally murdering everything. She'll just murder you too.

Hated tracer at first, but my friend gave me some pointers and I played her nonstop for a week, now I'm at least not completely useless and I'm having fun with her.
Next I'd like to try genji, another <1h hero for me. Anyone got some tips n tricks? I often see people getting 3-4 kills in a row and he's a bitch to fight against, but the few times I tried it I got 2 kills per life max...

Dont get too aggressive against tanks and wait for them to be weakened by your teammates. Always try to check flanks with someone else, not alone.

The game isn't 1v1, but you have to now your matchups when you need to shut down another player.

If I see a Roadhog on fire, I don't switch to Genji to shut him down, because I know that's an unfavorable matchup.

As for the "McCree can protect his team" thing, this isn't really accurate I feel. If anything, it's McCree who is lowering his efficiency since he's now stuck to the backlines to babysit his Mercy (remember, to shut her down you need to be within 10 units of her. If she's gunning for your Mercy, you need to be close enough to Mercy that you can roll+flashbang her when she attacks). Again, I think S:76 is better since he can both efficiently engage the frontlines and still be within range to threaten the Tracer.

Winning games as Mercy seems an impossible feat today

Mei being on the enemy team invalidates my existence because my team completely ignores her and tries their very hardest to either be out of sight so I cant jump to them or too close for it to matter

Thoughts on solo q vs party q?

Solo q gets me extremely angry. I try to solo q a lot to get better but it seems like it's hard to practice anything when a lot of the crucial gameplay comes from working with others.

Queueing with others is not only more fun, but it's also a better place to practice and get better. I'd never solo queue if my friends were always online.

Because Tracer is the flanker. She has the mobility to have the initiative. You have to assume she's not going to be dumb enough to burn all her dashes just to get close to her target. That kind of Tracer can be killed with literally anything.

And besides, my scenario does take running out of dashes into account. See my suggestion that S:76 currently is a bigger threat to Tracer since he can efficiently burn her down after she has spent all her cooldowns.
