Damn why doesn't anyone want to play a healer? Is my mmr that low? For the last ~7-8 games I switched to lucio or mercy when everyone picked what they wanted to pick while also compromising by saying things like "I will play a healer if someone picks a tank". After a couple of games I just went back to wanting to practice soilder and mccree and just kept picking those two and no one picked a healer.

I've played quite a few games with matchmaking systems and anything above 60% win rate is extremely rare.
If someone is winning 75% of their games, doesn't mean there's something wrong with the system allowing them to stomp and win so much?

Does anyone else thinks torbjorn needs aother passive or ability related to scrap?
Like a rocket jump that requires 100 scrap so theres new options for him to place turrets, or the ability to give the turret armour.
It Feels like hes got too many counters and just relies on the team being idiots to even be considered over a bastion or symetra, whilst the scrap mechanic feels very barebones even for ow.

If the game has absolutely no matchmaking at all, and every game just has random people of random skills, then better players will have high winrates and worse players will have low winrates.

If there is matchmaking (like Overwatch) everyone's winrate will approach 50% given enough play time.

Any tips against Zarya?

I've been running into a ton of them lately, and I don't really know what to do. It seems like they've always got shield up, even though I know it's short and has a decent cooldown.

I mostly play Pharah and while I feel she should be good against Zarya, I feel powerless.

Play some Zarya yourself. Shit becomes easier to counter when you have some understanding of how they function in combat, not just how they are on the paper. Also, as Pharah you should really have an easy time just melting her from afar when her shield is down. Just don't feed her charges. She is weak as fuck with low energy.

get her alone/separate her from her team. Zarya can block burst damage, but dies to sustained attack, don't let her get away and heal her shield and get her bubbles off cooldown.


As pharah, get her shields down, or eat her bubble with a rocket, reload while her bubble goes and shoot her, she'll have 10 seconds without protection and you can be high enough out of range to avoid her melting beam.

Pharah becomes a huge target and cannot evade while in her "optimal" environment. Being able to shoot up, hover for several seconds while basically not moving, and coming back alive means the other team has no hitscan characters, which means Pharah will basically go unchecked, or that they're so incredibly incompetent that they can't shoot a giant slow target.

I've gotten many winston potgs, enough to where buying an intro feels like it payed off.
Half of them are hilariously shit, though. Even worse than most torb potgs. I think the game would give them to me for getting 4 golds or something, because there were some really weak ones in there, especially in steamroll matches.
The better ones are always me going bananas on the entire enemy team, getting several knockoff kills, or just going to town on grouped enemies with the tickle cannon.

Besides when I play her, I've only seen Symmetra get potg a total of 3 times.
Lucio's also pretty low, he only gets a potg when he gets a multi knockoff kill.

Pharah is a terrible match up against her unless you're really good at timing your shot when you know she absolutely doesn't have bubble, Junkrat is the same. Any decent Zarya will bait you into shooting then pop shield since your shots have travel time. Reapers and Bastions are the best counters I've run into hen playing her, Reaper dropping in on the flank once she's burned her shield, or using wraith to wait it out, can then shred her most of the time. Bastions ambushing or waiting to blaster her till she's away from cover can just shoot through her shield then her. A Windowlicker or Hanzo that focuses her and lets her team bait out the shield can drop her as well.

It's working awesomely for TF2's ranked matchmaking beta right now. You should ask /tf2g/ how that's working out for them.
Spoiler: It's not.

What's probably good is a combination of Dota's party abandon penalties and weighted MMR losses for the losing team with a leaver.

(a) If you're in a party with a leaver, your whole party takes the hit like normal and also get partial leaver penalties or whatever that builds up to the actual penalty (e.g. stats page says 0.5 games left in the last 20 games instead of 1 game). That way faggots premades won't party with the leaver anymore if it happens regularly.
(b) The leaver will take an extra MMR hit for leaving along with leaver penalties so that ragequitting will be an extra waste of his time on top of the matchmaking freeze.
(c) People on the losing team that weren't in the same party as the leaver will take a partial hit to their MMR (e.g. only half or something) to account for the asshole that gave up on a game early instead of the whole hit.
(d) If the team with the leaver wins 5v6 or whatever, they still get full benefits of the win, the 6-man team that lost will lose MMR as normal since they lost with an advantage.

This way, there's no party-special MMR dodging techniques, solo players trying to play won't be as inconvenienced by retard "playing with a tilter" parties, and people who win will still get their win and quickly move on.

Prematurely ending the game and telling everyone else to fuck off will just cut the already short games in half. Both team will never get to play complete games because of the asshole leaver. That's just stupid.

I like defending more than attacking.

Here's some friendly advice.
>Don't be a walking shield
>Don't be a heavy handed brawler
Balance that shit. With enough hours in you'll learn what engagements you need to take and which you don't.
While you can be an amazing solo crusader of justice, don't count on it. Teams that are even slightly competent can pick you apart in two seconds flat if you're alone. Reinhardt really depends on the team if he wants to shine.
Learn to aim that e
Don't count on hitting a pharah that has half a brain, but it is great if she seems like she's about to ult. I find it's absolute best use is for turret destruction, and since most torb's are highly autistic you'll probably take a good chunk out of them since they'll tunnel vision their turret while trying to repair/upgrade it.
You m1 is a cone, not an arc, the knockback makes you a beast for anyone who needs to aim in order to hit you.
Do NOT engage reaper, roadhog, and occasionally even torb if you are alone and your shield is low, unless of course they've proven themselves to be shit and easily capable of soloing. You can take a good chunk out of them in a 1v1 but if you both are around the same skill level they're likely to win, and since each of them is highly capable of restoring their health your death will be in vain.
Your ult has 2 phases, as soon as you press q you stop all movement and action, then you hammer. Against enemies like Junkrat, Lucio and Pharah, they can really fuck with your ult since it's really obvious when you press q. Same for Winston, Reinhardt and Mei, you need to keep an eye on where they're facing and what abilities they've used recently.
A really helpful thing is ulting in midair. Your momentum doesn't cease and it triggers the moment you hit the ground. It's incredibly fucking useful when falling from heights, like at Lijaing Tower and the final choke point at Numbani.
lastly, Charging is absolutely vital for Rein.
If you're not picking your charges right, just pick another tank.
