Looping is done server-side by specifying how long a song is. For example:

Questioning(AA).mp3*59

Will loop that song once it reaches the 59 seconds peak. Meaning that you can adjust it at your own side to see how much is the optimal looping point.

This also means that most of our songs can have their loops improved if anyone cares enough to see when the best moment to loop is. That is pretty difficult for 416 songs but at the very least possible for the main ones like questioning, logic, objection and trial.

Of course, it requires people not to leak the doc OOC or IC, as then anyone has access to it again.

Is there interest in a global chat? It consists of the capability of sending messages that appear in all areas. Something like:

Well, that's why I said partially. At least if the defense truly has nothing, they can have something. And even then, if detective sees that the theory is nothing but "pls give more incriminating evidence" he can deny it. Like I said in my previous point, I am certain this will work after a couple of cases.

I was Ryu in a Turnabout Forged in Steel and the case pretty much boiled down to my first request to the Detective: "Check whose blood is on the Hawk."

This one fact helped prove a string of ideas I had conjured up.

The Detective submitting the information the Hawk could be trained if you feed it was entirely on his part

It is another story when defense lacks evidence needed for pinning down the killer, but that's why I think it's better for detective to be on standby with the final piece, so to speak.

And they are rare. At least, in my experience, because that's what I see all the time. I personally hate "I have a theory" moments, but they are there, so not much to do except tp deal with it.

No, I mean that defense may start their theory-making before even uncovering any contradictions. And everyone rolls with it, because you aren't just gonna say "stop with your indictment, you haven't found a lie".

And yes, this all comes to nothing without actually confirming whether or not no-requests would work. Unfortunately, I most likely won't be able to play for about a month for IRL reasons, so I urge anyone who also thinks that a case can work without requests to build one in area 1 and check.

Alright, new server update is out.

There's a bunch new commands, you can see them here (or write /help in game):

Specifically there is now a global chat, use /g to speak to everyone, /globaloff to turn it off if it's annoying.

Another new command is /need, e.g. /need det,judge will advertise that your area needs these roles, writing just /need will tell you if it's ready to use (there is a cooldown)

There's also some new /area stuff, you can /setstatus of each area (idle, casing, etc) and /getareas to get a list of people

But most importantly, there is now a new system for documents. /setdoc URL sets the current area doc to whatever you give it, /doc gives you the link. If you only use these two commands to distribute documents, they will be safe against bombing, as we can easily tell who got access when. So make sure not to leak them in regular chat.

Also, there are new rules in place against the abuse of these new commands. Please be considerate towards others, the point of this update is to improve the general experience on the server.

You probably won't be in this thread anymore seeing how this post was several hours ago, but to answer your question:

Pickle-pee's inability to recognize the fact that Megundal was knocked out in the same room as the murder led off onto a tangent that the bird may have had selective memory. Alba (the final boss) denied this saying Pickle-pee was too stupid to lie. Alba's final testimony was littered with the asinine key card temperature nonsense. There was a minor contradiction in the temperature of the cards, but the real contradiction ended up being he said he let Pickle-pee into the crime scene. Pickle-pee on the other hand, had testified to BOTH entering the crime scene by herself, and being unable to use the card keys. The reason for the contradiction of course that Pickle-pee is a conspirator in the Dark Age of Law, and was trained to have selective memory. This selective memory erased Alba, and consequentially Megundal from her report of the scene of the crime. The question of course was, "How did Alba leave the scene of the crime without being noticed by the other officers?" The answer was the air vents, he used the tables and chairs (which got knocked over in the process) to get into the air vents and from there conspired with Pickle-pee to make a clean escape.

It made even less sense at 3:30 in the morning PST. The thing is, there was something that certainly did cast suspicion on Alba. The fact that when the murder occurred, for some reason only Manfred and the Chief of Police (Alba) had proper access to the scene of the crime.
As to why Megundal believed Manfred killed Meekins? Manfred brutalized him with his taser when he turned off the camera, knocking him out in the process. So Manfred was not guilty of Murder, but it's probably going to jail for being DARK AGE scum.

Not a bad case for something that should have ended in mistrial when Athena went missing.
