I really wish this wasn't a thing. I have no idea where this has sprung from, nor why people think it's a great idea to type this at the end of a match they've just won, but there's literally no good that can come from gloating after a win.

People say it when they steamroll another team. People say it when they've barely won a game. People say it when teams seemed fairly balanced. Sometimes, people even say it when they've lost!

Sure, there are some players who say it ironically, or just for fun, but a lot of observers don't get the joke and just parrot the term when they next win a match.

All it does (and is designed to do) is to infuriate the other team, and creates a shitty atmosphere for all involved. Even exploiters, name-callers, ninja-quitters and angst-ridden shouty teammates are less cancerous than the "gg ez" crowd.

Can we just... Not?

The biggest benefit to solo queue is you get to pick your map and role. You can just leave games until it puts you on a map you like and playing a class you want. If you're in a group you'll likely be stuck in the first game you land in, so if you don't feel like "supporting a payload defense" well tough shit, that's what you're doing.

>charges too fast, 1000hp gives you an ult so a mercy should be getting an ult every 45ish seconds on average
>no counter player, it's an instant cast

Pairing those two things together, there's no strategy in terms of timing in because the game hands resurrections to you like candy and there's no positioning involved because you can blindly fly in and get a game-changing rez every time because doing 200 damage to someone jetting across the map is virtually impossible.

Most high level comp players agree that she charges her ult way too fast, so at the very least, that will probably be toned down a bit.

Not that simple. Focusing a Mercy is extremely difficult compared to a game like TF2. She's way more slippery, and trading your life for a Mercy is more difficult than it really should be.

Beyond that, it's common to kill the Mercy first, then a long teamfight happens, then she has a huge window to respawn and fly back to rez her team. This is particularly prevalent when defending the final cap of payload or attack/defense because the defending spawn is literally RIGHT there.

Mercy Ult charge so it's no longer crazy fast. Probably more Widow rebalancing since the nerfs will prove to be almost inconsequential. I'm fine with the changes to McCree on paper since he was never meant to melt tanks or anyone outside of close-range with FtH but if anything changes, it will probably be reducing Flashbang's AoE or having him get stunned if he uses it too close to himself. Maybe Lucio will have his passive self-healing dialed back a bit or a range reduction in his AoE buffs which would make him have to play closer to his teammates than go for dumb shit knowing that his allies from half a mile away are getting buffs while he tries to big dick it or go off for environmental kills.

On a less likely note, Roadhog hook might get some counterplay (ie. strafing the hook's returning trajectory) which could actually make it super fun since the RH would then have to predict how hard you are strafing the hook and it might fling people over a mountain. Non-Ult/suicide environmental kills for the hog sounds bitchin'.

I'm scared for Torb's future due to hero-stacking and two Molten Cores being extremely difficult to push against. Torb himself is fine. I would even say that his turret is actually on the weak side, but it will never get buffed due to hero stack bullshittery.

Mercys ult is the only reason she is picked in the first place, Lucio does everything else better. Team wide heal > single target heal, team wide speed boost > single target damage boost. Lucio can also contribute to the fight and on certain maps he can make some plays by pushing people off edges. Meanwhile Mercy is completely vulnerable to every hero in the entire game, even zero suit D.Va can take on her no problem.

It's like you're fighting 5v6 but sometimes some of them might come back to life. If you don't play smart, all of them will come back to life. You nerf her ult to the point where she can't reliably use it to make up that deficit she's just going to be completely useless.

I don't think Lucios speed boost needs a nerf since that's his niche, his healing needs a slight nerf if anything though.

The problem is that there are only 2 "proper" healers, Mercy and Lucio so they happen to be picked an awful lot, often together at the same time. Zenyattas healing isn't anywhere near comparable and 76s has some big downsides (uptime, placement, size) since he's not a support. If there were more actual healers then we'd probably have a better idea of if the ones we have are OP, or if its the idea of a healer that's OP.

Honestly, if some of her power budget was pulled from ult and put into other shit she could probably compete with Jet Set Radio (after he probably gets nerfed). It isn't really a discussion of OP or UP, it's just gameplay.

Right now, a bad Mercy player is the one who's in combat helping her team instead of waiting in a corner somewhere for a big rez.

Also makes point B caps cancer, since it breaks the golden rule and punishes you for focusing healer.

I fucking hate it when my team kills her first instead of after half, so now I have to guess which spawn she'll come flying out of while dealing with her remaining team. And that's if I'm playing a character that can 100-0 her fast enough.
