Artillery, and the early horde growth allows you to balance out sacking/razing to get chosen super fast while still having big money.
Not as much auto-resolves as I would have liked, but it's not hard when you have a hellcannon to turtle around.

You can change auto-resolve difficulty in a script file, but you cannot change how the algorithm works. The devs have said they're looking into a way to make heroes and monsters not take theblunt of the damage.
Also, heroes who die in autoresolve are not wounded but treated as any other unit and there is gone permanently.

So yeah, unless you're fighting manually it's a good idea to keep your wizards and heroes out of your army.

Chaos spawn or armored trolls? And giants seem kinda shitty. Each swing despite colliding with at least a dozen enemies ends up only knocking down 4 and at best 1 dies. Monsters aside from demigryphs feel too weak. Why not just increase the number of non monster units by double and then ramp up the aoe and damage they do so it at least doesn't look like shit. I'm quickly beginning to lose interest in Total Warhammer due to the cheating AI. I've been playing strategy games for a long time, and I realize that the AI needs cheats to make up for its weaknesses and for constantly losing to the player, but it cheats so much in this game that intelligence-gathering (gauging what the enemy is capable of based on its buildings, etc.) is near-impossible.

And of course, AI agents are super strong because CA lied and they in fact do break the rules and receive huge hidden bonuses.

In this image, you'll see there's one Greenskins settlement left on the map. Just a few turns ago, I completely destroyed one of their armies via underway interception and devastated their second.

Here we are a handful of turns later, and they've got one full stack at full strength, a second full stack at 2/3 strength, and a WAAAAGH!!!.

How did they get the WAAAAGH!!!? I don't know. They haven't beaten any of my armies or razed any of my stuff, and they're allied with the Top Knotz to the west. There's no one else around.

How did they replenish their troops so quickly? How are they affording the upkeep for almost two doomstacks, with one settlement without any economic buildings? I don't know.

I never know, because the AI awards itself free shit whenever it wants and breaks rules as it pleases. That's an entire strategic layer of the campaign map, broken. The only intelligence you can gather is to assume it'll get a lot of free shit.

alright so new day new updates, sorta. I fixed the overcolourfullness of the zombies and am currently making that tweak in all of my mods. it turns out the rgb table for faction uniforms when imported gets inverted, so it was then a B.G.R table. horror. what that means is the blue code 200 was posted in red tables for example

that means possibly all my colours are fucked, I'll have a look through them after the horses are done.
as for bret horses I posted a few wips last thread but I think I found something I like, 3 horse variants, 100% armour on those variants. to hide whats underneath, otherwhise you get naked horses which don't seem very bretlike at all

side by side are the bret variant and armoured nightmare. I'm after feedback to see if its worth it to include some of the bret horses at the cost of the blue eye glow dissapearing when you look at them closely from the side, I'll post a pic after this post showing the effect

I need help from a true understander of strategy

I've never made it this far in a campaign and I have no idea what my end game is or what I should be currently doing.

All I've got right now is a full stack in Innsbruck defending it from the austrians, and two half stacks just north of it.

Also have a quarter stack headed to portugal

I have no fleet, and the entire game has been perpetual clashes with Austria, and some of Prussias satellite states

can someone tell me where I should go from here?

There are quite a few mods to do exactly that. Check the workshop.

I didn't use any mods for my legendary blitz, and what I did to stem the number of heros was, for one, move fast so they never got critical mass, and I kept my heros incredibly active, I had multiple level 30 heros running around assassinating. I lost a lot as well.

Priests are excellent for inciting rebellions and harassing enemy economies, assuming their fullstacks aren't lying around waiting for rebellions to happen.

Just send 3 rank4 priests and maybe 2 or 3 ninjas to support into Eastern Japan, and you'll pretty much turn the east into a sea of Christian rebellions. They also work well to deny territory that you don't want to occupy (see Shikoku and Chosokabe).

Yes. Orcs and dwarves are exactly the opposite of each other. Dwarves are focused on hard defense with expensive units with high leadership and good ranged options, orcs are focused on hard offense with cheap units with low leadership and crappy ranged options.

Battle difficulty literally just changes morale in battle, I always switch it to normal. Campaign difficulty's main noticable effect is that the AI will be more aggressive and prone to attacking you. The pure melee heroes are absolutely good enough on the battlefield, its like having a second lord. They also train your army. The assassin heroes are useful too, but even more useful outside the army, so I usually don't embed them. A single Wizard for buffs/debuffs is also worth it imo.

Flying units are invaluable as VC, unless you can replace them with Terrorgheists you should always have at least 2 vargheists, or bats if you're really cheap. The ability to send them straight onto enemy archers, artillery, light cavalry and missile cavalry is too good to not have them. Crypt horrors and black knights are fast enough to catch foot units, but you don't want to waste your black knights on slowly charging after some fleeing archers when a group of vargheists would get there and shred them to pieces in half the time. And any missile cavalry outruns everything except flying units as VC.

hey I posted some alternative mounts earlier today but ultimately have ran into the same problem getting them to be Mousillon only as lords, so thats stonewalled for now. however what I DID do is I figured I'd manually tweak all those graveguard colours, not done and only about half are implemented but the overall theme is much more fading or darker colours

The Units of Renown are getting added in the lord packs, and the Carroburg Greatswords aren't particularly connected to any character that would fit in as a Legendary Lord.

Even Todbringer, who is unlikely as a choice for a lord pack in the first place, would be more fit to something like Knights of the White Wolf.

They're standalone expansions, what's probably going to happen is that they'll have at least the old world + expansion area for each expansion but you won't be able to play as the races that were in the first game. This also means that you can buy DLC for something in the Old World without actually needing every game.

GW graveguard are your killiest infantry unit, still tanky enough, but they don't have anything special about them.

Crypt horrors are deceptively squishy and regeneration doesn't do shit for them. Their damage is also pretty poor, they end up getting very few kills by comparison to good infantry. They also count as monsters, and thus get fucked by autoresolve.

They however are pretty good at tossing infantry around and a poison is a nice added bonus. Another bonus is that they can also path through the rest of your infantry to smash the enemy frontline.

It's bullshit, every piss-easy autoresolve fucks you over by severely weakening one of your bests units. It was alright as Chaos, because I could replenish after defeating Norscans, but Dwarfs can't do that after beating greenskins. Most effective way to play is to make three full stacks of your basic Marauders and autoresolve EVERYTHING until you can recruit chosen, knights and cannons. You can poop on Kislev very early this way. While you're at it, make like 50 exalted heroes.

If you need to replenish just merge your units and recruit more. You should have 100k in the bank by turn 50 or something anyway. Use LL/exalted abilities and the building thingy to make your fresh recruits instant rank 8.
