Can anyone give me a quote on the AR of havel's shield and the dragon slayer shield at 50 or 40 str? +5 if possible.

Thoughts on the havel's shield's skill? It sounds kind of mediocre compared to the shield bash.

I'm trying to plan an ultra greatshield build. I've already got the dragonrider bow and a simple caestus for skills. I'm thinking of adding a dagger with heavy or refined so i can crit when i get the opportunity. I'd appreciate any advice, I'm currently working out what armor i can wear without spending too much vit.

I'm making it so the Aggro Mod automatically applies the Red Eye effect on by default, but you can disable it if you don't like them. There's no reason to. Vitality is useless. From should have made fastroll only 25%, midroll until 70%, and fatroll above. That way, people might have fucking used it. But now, it's a dump stat. You can get by without it. Vitality needs a huge overhaul that they probably won't do in a patch, and that's why Dark Souls 3 isn't as great as Dark Souls 1.

Try being the host and popping a dried finger with way of the blue on with a seed popped. Don't summon any phantoms to help you, see how long you can survive.

It's actually pretty fucking balanced this way and a lot of fun. No idea why more people don't do this. You have more life and estus but sometimes you could be going 1v2, hell maybe even 1v3 with a purple in the mix. It's great.

Greatshields weren't worth the weight in DeS, so you could break DSS's guard. There were also weapons like blind and LSoM that bypassed shields entirely.
Estoc was retarded in DeS, though in DeS most things were balanced by having everything be unbalanced.

DkS1 had poise stabs as a natural counter to estoc turtling, as estoc was only mediocre in BS damage you could win the BS war. Dead angles if used sparingly could also sneak in damage.

Bows may not be the best weapon, but they're effective in PvP because people don't properly fight back against it, because nobody uses bows as a primary. I did a bit of bow only invasions once, got Flynn's ring and the Dragon torso and it went pretty well. I could out maneuver everyone and do decent damage with the composite.

It's not about the bleed so much as it's about the speed and reach of the attack. You get right up next to them, hit R1, and then walk forward a bit, R1 again, walk forward a bit, etc. You can do this infinitely because of you regain your stamina after each forward step, you're always next to them, and they're constantly losing stamina. If they attack or roll away they get hit.

Now you could try bringing out the old "perfect play" excuse that a "good" estoc turtle will just play around every single counter and never get guard broken, never get bled, never get hit, etc etc, but I've literally never ran into one of those. The walk forward R1 with even shit like the BKG has worked pretty much every time for me in SL120 pontiff duels with knight slayer ring on.
