I have seen a screenshot going around about Dalaran paying their players to advertise here with donation points.

I just want to CONFIRM, this is true. They have had open campaigns but they also continued in closed privacy. I have been on the receiving end of these donation points in one of the open campaigns and know for a fact that they continued this privately.

To all the new people I would suggest avoiding warrior and most melee except monk. Shaman is a hard one to roll for a first but Druid and Mage are both super easy and gear independent. With Druid you can port around which is actually huge in EQ because you can make bank by porting and it'll save you and your groups a lot of time. Mage and necro are both pet classes primarily with good utility and dps

Druids are usually the starter character for a lot of people to get to 29+ then just use as a money source so yeah. The animal charming can be pretty good too, plus they can quad kill later on for good exp. They get outclassed in higher levels by shaman is the reason people don't take them too high

I've played on VoA's pvp server for the past few months and my god is it dying. There are many reasons explaining why so many are quitting, but as a courtesy for anyone thinking about investing time into the new PVE server "Stonetalon" please avoid it. I know there is a big demand for a PVE server, and this is of course why the developers are trying to capitalize on it. However, no one should put any faith into the people involved with VoA

Take just a few minutes to investigate the server you will be playing on. Ask yourself, am I content with playing with kara for the next year? This will be the most likely outcome of your endgame experience. Just glance at the forums for VoA you will realize why this place is an inevitably waste of time. The developers have very little time available to work on content, bug fixes, initiation of anti-cheat system, etc. The server has been around for 1.5 yrs and doesn't even have kara fully released much less any other t4. Imagine how long it will be till t5 or others come out (if they ever do).

For those wondering- yes I am salty. I choose VoA over L4G and not a minute goes by that I don't regret my choice. I was promised and lead to believe many things that did not come true. All my friends and guildies have quit and this server is on the verge of complete collapse. However, after investing 20+ game days its hard to just make an immediate switch to another tbc realm. Like the large majority of the population I log on to do a few auctions and kara once a week then log right off. The other day during peak hours there were 60 alliance online total...

reasons why loot council works for solid 25 man guilds but not for <you>

1) 4 out of the 6 lc members are horrible players and as such, their judgement on member performance can't be trusted.

2) precedents of people rage quitting over loot forcing LC to tread on eggshells and give said rage quitting members (we ALL know who he is I don't need to mention his name) a preferential treatment.

3) LC works when there is reliable core of 25 members. <you> has 10-14 at most. The other members are just being tagged along to clear instances without any chance whatsoever of getting specific items before they have been handed to the core.

4) using dps output as a criterion to hand out loot when members with less gs will obviously do less dps than other, more geared players and thus not be considered at all for an item. if using DPS to GS or general performance , item distribution and reserved items would look quite differently
However , referring to 1) , the majority of the loot council are mediocre to downright awful and are in no position to accurately gauge player performance.

5) the obvious elitism and nepotism problem that doesn't need an explanation

6)the anachronism of using a loot distribution system used by (a few) top progression guilds vs the laid back amateurism of leading. Calling out timers and telling people what to do during a raid is something that every guild , down to the most mediocre ones, did and does not qualify as a way to refute the aforementioned amateurism

The rampant elitism and reserving of items is one of the few reasons why <you> is dying and gets beaten in progression by random poles.

Factions are all personal.
The main areas people meet up and use as references for travel are good. You don't want to be stuck having to run across 5 zones to vender.

And warrior basically can't solo at all unless you spend 300k on gear. And you'll be a shit tank without gear. So you'll just hate your life.

Warrior is basically shit except for raid tanking. That's literally what they're good at and only that. Because of it their gear is so expensive that whole guilds have to buy the gear for them and consider them investments. Not that you need half a million plat to tank Orc hill and crushbone, but you honestly won't be able to keep threat or stay alive very well without at least a couple thousands worth.

Evil races just have a harder time getting around to where people actually play, not to mention the evil cities are generally shit (DEs have a cool city but that's the only one)

I just want to CONFIRM, this is true. They have had open campaigns but they also continued in closed privacy. I have been on the receiving end of these donation points in one of the open campaigns and know for a fact that they continued this privately.
