Sort of. By now the recommended way to start the game is to begin from a new FNV game, but in the Capital Wasteland (going through the Fo3 char gen).
I think that there is some compatibility strife atm with a newer version of the TTW.esm file, which fixes progressively longer loading times. You have to patch the char gen start plugin file (from the optionals fomod iirc) to get it to work, but that isn't _too_ difficult.

TTW mod requires all the fallout 3 and fallout nv to be installed, then it extracts the lot converts them into fallout nv esps. You start out in fallout 3 vault 101 and then have the option to travel to NV.

Not my experience. Boston can get busy, but once you kill the first spawns, and the countryside in general, it becomes boring and predictable to travel across. The map would be better larger, but that'll never happen, and given its small size and lack of content, unpredictable battles is the only thing going for it.

Now the Glowing Sea is actually slightly threatening, and the Minutemen actually patrol settlements instead of being useless pieces of shit all day.

Uhh no, its that way because thats the way it would logically be. Radiation would kill off most thing int it via accumulation, but at the same time its been 200+years, and most of the high concentrations of radiation would have dissipated over that time.

The term you're looking for is "prolonged exposure". Like, you can stand in the middle of a tundra in a T-shirt and jeans for a minute or two, but with prolonged exposure, you're getting frost-bite and hypothermia. Radiation's the same way. If the levels are high enough to make you sick, with prolonged exposure, you'll die.

I haven't played Fallout 4 in a while, so I'm not sure. Is it still impossible to upload your mod to Bethesda.net without uploading all of the assets associated with it, including those from other people's mods?

I tried to upload a character overhaul mod a while back and it pack together, and uploaded, all of the assets I use instead of just the .esp. All my skin, body, eyes, hair mods, etc.

It's nice if you don't want to do drugs instead of VATS. Probably best to pick double the AP consumption though.

VATS is just too shitty to bear. Enemies can go out of range but you'll keep shooting. Stupid camera pans while you're being fucking murdered, making multiple shots take longer than they should. Even with the resistance buff during VATS it's infuriating to watch. It doesn't work in a first person shooter, not like they designed it.

That doesn't work in this situation, anon. If you're just changing the appearance of NPCs, you only need to upload the .esp, not everything you use to make your game look purdy.

That's like saying, "You have to buy a whole care to buy this paint." I don't need to get the whole car, I just need the paint. Everybody has their own car, and this paint will work just fine for them without me giving them a car.

You don't accumulate rads. Radiation is atoms shedding neutrons because they're too heavy with them. Uranium, for example. Those neutrons fly off at insane speeds, and destroy any living tissue cells in their path. Because atoms are so tiny, you can have a golf ball-sized rock with even just a little bit of uranium that sheds so many neutrons that you can get very sick from it but only if it's sitting in your pocket for a long period of time, because it's getting a chance to destroy more of your cells without whatever ammo is has left, if you will. Once the ammo's spent, it doesn't stay in your body, it goes right through you.

To truly accumulate rads, you have to be surrounded by radioactive material, for a long period of time, which is still prolonged exposure, but the key part is being surrounded. And I'm talking giant uranium rods, that take millenia to run out of neutrons, not irradiated water or trees. I believe there's still bodies entombed inside Chernobyl, if one could safely remove them, they would be pretty irradiated, but that would still dissipate with time, because the bodies aren't radioactive in of themselves.

Is there a FO4 equivalent to tesgeneral.com? An up to date guide on mods that work and work well together? Obviously FO4 hasn't been out nearly as long and has been in patch/dlc flux but I just did a fresh install after the whole keywords clusterfuck and just generally having old outdated mods.

The chest/shoulder placement of APA in 2 would cause more clipping than anything in 4. I think the redesign they went with works reasonably well for a 3D representation, although the helmet could be a little closer to the original with an asymmetrical design. It is, overall, superior to the NV design though.

Yeah, the black/red one was part of the base game and the tan/green one was later DLC, but I meant in terms of story. The tan/green came first and when the desert rangers joined the NCR, the armor was repainted black/red for intimidation value.

The same thing happened in Skyrim with Solstheim (and still does...) so don't count on it being fixed any time soon. All you can really do is save before going to turn in the previous quest/get your new quest, and just reload until it is a reasonable location.
It might be possible to check if the player has been to the island first, but I don't know where the quest giving is handled in the scripts.

A bump map is just a normal map. And yes, you always need a normal unless you're running deep blue.

Making a mesh is different from making a full object. Very few people can do full objects alone. Usually it's split into three, or four parts

Highpoly sculpting
Lowpoly modeling and UV unwrap
Textures
Skinning rigs and animation.

Each one of these fields can pretty much be a career into itself, so I'd recommend you not stretch yourself too thin just starting out.

25% productivity to 100%, remember to empty out the workshop of stored goods so it'll produce more.

There's a mod that removes the production limit but that results in daily attacks because storing enough water and food raises the probability of attack to 100%.

That one settler that was being attacked by the others is a synth, check their body for a synth component. What you witnessed is an Institute attack in the works that you haven't been called on to defend yet (you can pre-empt some settlement attacks just by fast-traveling there, though the game doesn't tell you when).

Sanctuary itself is bugged as hell. Make sure all your beds are under roofs, and answer calls to defense. There is an issue where large settlements (like Sanctuary, or later on, Spectacle Island) that sit across multiple cells will not register resources. There are temporary workarounds. If you decide to fast travel away, make sure you are at the mid-point of the settlement so that all resources register before doing so. If you look at your workshop stats from your Pipboy while elsewhere in the commonwealth, check to see if they are lacking resources. For Sanctuary, beds seems to be a problem more often than not. In that case just fast travel back and the problem will be fixed for a while.

A more suitable system for something first person like Fallout would be to tie it to things such as reload speed, sway when using iron sights, critical chance, and (if we're talking about Fallout 3 or New Vegas,) weapon condition degradation rate. Additional penalties to these could be given to weapons with a Weapons Skill requirement, as well.

As someone who worked as a carpenter for years, you're seriously understimating the work that goes into making planks. Metal wouldn't even have to be recanted, just reforged. Pounded into a different shape.

Here's the deal:

Any asshole can cobble together a shitty boat out of wood. Will it be pretty? Hell no. Will it be particularly watertight? Not without some really specialized knowledge and materials. But it *will* float, and you *could* end up skirmishing with other rafts of that type.

Metal?

Fuck no. Just keeping it simple, and perhaps using pontoons to float? You're in for a proper nightmare.

Let's say we scavenge the metal from a few wrecked cars. You'll have to beat out and reform the sections of usable metal bit by bit (and good luck knowing what those are without specialist information, or a load of trial and error,) and then either collecting enough to create a large enough ship that a heavy vessel will still float, or painstakingly hammering out thin layers of metal (bearing in mind that the bodywork of the vehicles makes up a small portion of the car overall, and is likely to be mostly useless material.)

It is infinitely easier to build a shitty raft out of lumber, and up-armor with the thin, usable car steel, creating a sort of primitive steel-clad vessel.

Raiders might use shitty rafts though.

In addition, you probably won't be making boats from scratch as much as patching up broken boats. That drastically reduces the material you need.

The way you have to do is build a wooden hull and THEN make armor or plating out of iron, the thing with iron is that you got the whole fouling problem which is why you don't go crazy and make your ship 100% out of iron and it also gets more out of shape than wood(something you don't wanna get in a ship)

Steel would be the reason why Ironclads were the monsters of the high seas but for a post-apocalyptic nation to make huge amounts of steel and mantain such industry to make ships is another problem entirely.

The Brotherhood and their tech base are the exception, not the norm. The majority of organizations are going to be operating without that background, and without those resources. If you're really fighting a war, smaller rafts that are less resource intensive, and easier to field quickly are indeed *exactly* what most organizations would go to war with.

the fertile sections tries to embrace either the sky island effects, fertile areas in the water, and a little bit of cactus forests (not true to the Mojave but pretty close). Granted, much of the lushness of the desert is based on the season, where thorn scrub looks barren except after rainy periods but its not just sand dunes.

What's the best way to make the Bozar not shit in NV?

I'm using Sawyer's Mod which makes it Grunt compatible but it's still a bit underwhelming considering both the inflated price and remembering the raw, unmitigated ass-kickery of the Fallout 2 weapon upon which it is based.

I'm considering upping the damage to at least the same level as the regular LMG (since the fire rate is already half that of the LMG anyway, nevermind its considerably smaller mag size which is a third that of the un-upgraded LMG) and just rolling with it like that since it at least has a rather decent spread compared to its non-unique cousin. With 5.56 AP AND Grunt it should thusly be less garbage, or that's the plan anyway.

Thoughts? Opinions?

the idea is that, after the nukes hit, a lot of people survived, and when everyone got all pissed at them they started using what they had left over as defenses, by patching up/repairing what the had and occasionally making a new ship or armored vehicle, and whatever they couldn't repair they scrapped and melted the trash down and made them into more things, and the knowledge gets passed on from generation to generation

I guess it was sort of a joke that I mentioned ironclads, not actual ironclads but like POST-APOCALYPTIC METAL BOATS that look like trash and serve their purpose is what I meant

desu I feel it`s pretty decent already. It has a bit lower damage than the LMG but it has a higher ROF and higher DPS (not counting reloads).
If anything just edit to have a 10 rounds larger mag, that should help with the dps lost due to more frequent reloading.

Visually, sure. But there are enough common elements to invite the comparison. The MUTOs both emerged from chrysalises. They emerged from highly radioactive areas (similar setup to Godzilla vs Mothra). Godzilla is implied to be their natural predator, and appears to coincide with their arrival (once again, Godzilla vs Mothra). Reproduction is the MUTO's motivation for fighting Godzilla (Godzilla vs Mothra again). Mothra's fairies summon it with a song, the MUTOs use echolocation to call to each other across the planet. And finally, MUTO sounds a lot like Mothra except not cheesy.
It seems pretty obvious to me that the filmmakers' intended them to be the Mothra of this iteration of Godzilla movies.

Why are these so many teddy bears and skeletons in unfunny poses in fallout 4? In 3 and NV it didn't feel even half as prominent, but now it feels like every single location has a "so funny xd" bear or skeleton hanging from a lighting fixture or stuck in a toilet.

well actually the (PC) vault is the 'vanilla' way of bringing in betshseda's vault dweller character into play, I had planned complete alternate starts as a wastelander or even ghoul starts, but let us not forget pete hines 'family problems' is the head of storytelling, so it would never happen without a vault dweller start point. In painful truth I'd hope this would be picked up by obsidian, who could better realize my dreams, but I doubt it'll ever happen, just a romantic idea man without a hope in the world.

That's exactly why I created Vault 72 (a street of the same name in Omaha that serves as it's aorta artery)
but faaah habaah gave us boats, it's not like it's something new at this point. Then again, I had plans of having actual vehicles in my game as Omaha is just so damn vast without a car, sure, it's just a big as any American metropolis, with half the density since we have absolutely no sense of space.

hell half the draw of mad mallards was that they use'd donk'ed ass pickup trucks they fixed up to raid shit.

that's just the thorn though, I put that map together in hopes that I already did half the field work for making a proper game, being a native of the area myself. I could only hope someone from bethseda actually asked me to explain my plan in full to save them time and effort to make a game, yet we got so many people pinning on lake eerie, without a proper map to help them out in making a game.
