I finished the game yesterday and started after the 5th episode was released.
All i can say is i wasn't disappointed. I didn't partake in any of the theory threads etc. so killing Chloe wasn't too obvious. Of course in hindsight it is, but i thought we would have to kill ourselves in the end. It also makes a lot of sense to me.

I would like to clarify something I said in the last thread since I went to sleep and may not have made the point I wanted to.

The point of this was that saving William was a massive change because it altered five years of existence and created different paths for characters: Chloe getting into a car accident instead, Max being less shy/sad when she goes to Seattle so she becomes friends with the Vortex Club, Joyce never marries David so David's just a bus driver and in no position to discover the Dark Room, etc.
Max only realizes these differences because she has memory of another time. This is why changing something in the distant past is bad, there's way too many variables that can be affected.
Where as changing something immediately after it happens leaves practically no room for history to change The future, in every case, is undetermined so there's no telling you "broke" something since you have no knowledge of it since you haven't lived it yet.
And no, I do not believe Max caused the storm. The writers did not convince me that Max was the cause of it.

That's why I wanted an ending montage like the first three episodes. But since it's the finale you get to show the effects of choices and give an idea of what the future will hold.
But the basic stuff would be repairing the damage from the storm, Max picking up a camera again, David, Joyce and Chloe going to counseling, Kate and Victoria hanging out/ Victoria visiting Kate's grave, Rachel's funeral, Jefferson in prison, Nathan getting help, and ending with something cute of Max and Chloe.
Stuff that shows that there was, and will be, tough times but the characters have matured enough to be able to handle them.
What we got were two very vague and pretty hopeless endings that didn't care what we did the past five episodes.

The BAE ending is pretty devoid of hope too, realistically, but there we have plenty room for optimistic imagination - without having to force it either. The author said not to worry about it becoming an overwhelmingly sad/ tragic story because it won't be. So it seems like it will be a balance, which is good and will ultimately be a positive outcome.

All these quotes are very ambiguous. Max COULD be talking about a lover, but it all also sounds like something a person would say about a very, very dear friend.

Chloe flirts with Max and even if the player chooses not to, Max has her own feelings regarding loving Chloe more than a friend that are independent from the player.
Max is not an RPG character and the player is not controlling her, they are advising her. This is why there's rarely radically different options and no outright "evil" way for Max to behave.

My idea of the emergency board is that it was not meant for situations when the bread was truly dying. It was meant for times when we would be spammed to death or when there's rouge moderation killing us.

If we migrate there when the thread is truly dead and done for, we'll lose a portion of the community and also lose the opportunity to attract new members among our ranks. That's two days worth of IPs. And towards the end of the threads we used to hit on average between 60 and 80, now it's 40 to 60 spread over 3 days rather than the 1 thread per day/two days we were averaging then.

And we are hitting page 10 frequently with only a handful of people in the thread at times, if that.

Again, we'll survive, it's just a matter of how many people there'll be left motivated to post (especially discussion, new art, news, fics, etc.), and I only see that number dwindling further if the last two months or so are a trend to go by, and see nothing that'd liven things up.

As far as advertising the thread... That's only really sensible on 4chan, right? Which means /v/, which is eh, and apparently already having LiS threads surprisingly often.

Don't think there's much left to be revealed. I mean, there'd be some things, but considering the amount of interviews already out there and how recent many of them are, if the devs were willing to reveal more they already would have (not least in the "dev commentary"). Plus the latest interviews that had the one or other interesting info garnered two or three replies...

Don't get me wrong, I'll be here and be comfy. I just don't think it will get more lively again (beyond some more active patches here and there). Even with a Season 2 confirmation tomorrow, what really is there (continually) new to talk about? Realistically that season is not coming before 2018 anyway.

Regardless, the last thing we need is people joining some discord server now. Again, no purpose at all. I don't even know why people bring it up?

On another note, here's a google doc for everyone that wants to drop fic recs into. Format is simple, a new line can be added by in the context menu by right-clicking anywhere on the table.
