Is there a way to quickly refill a merchant's (Hattori's for example) money without fast traveling between different areas?

God fucking dammit this lock on bug. I am fighting the wraith at the manor for HoS and cannot beat her because of the wonky lock on system since the last patch. I've tried to rebind the goddamn key to no avail.

The fight is endless because no matter how soon I get to the painting, most of the time Geralt refuses to face it except if I get lucky. He always faces the wraith.

Is respec into full radius aard the only trick recently? I'll try that and see how it does, since I don't have to face the target.

This has nothing to do with the BaW lock on bug, at least I don't think it does.

This is a KB+M issue, idiot. Geralt soft targets no matter on console or not. Used to be in previous patches I could press Z and he would turn in the direction I pressed with WASD, not the opponent. Now I press Z and nothing happens. I rebound it to another key and same shit.

Also, found another bug. Can't respec into aard radius because since patch 1.2 when you place the Potion of Clearance in a pocket for consumables, it displays and blank spot and does not give you the option to take it.

Think I'm done playing for a bit til the next patch. Didn't have these problems til recently, have 140+ hours in the game and haven't really had issue til now.

so wait, were the 'higher vampires' in the base game not really higher vampires? The one in the crypt and the fanatical healer. Are those just super-katakans? Or did cdpr consider them true HVs lore-wise but just copy-paste the combat mechanics from other vampire encounters? (not coming up with anything unique until their expansion). For instance, the bestiary entry for true HVs unlocks after killing Hubert. But then again the lorebook says that even some katakans and alps and so forth have the ability the masquerade as humans.

But Hubert seemed like a fully fledged out person, like Regis. I'm confused.

I DON'T want to lock on to her, I want to STOP locking on to her to hit the paintings before she regenerated health. Geralt soft locks in console or PC no matter what, and unless you mod the game there is no stopping it. I am unwilling to mod til they stop patching.

You used to have a key to tap to make Geralt stop locking onto the closest target. But since patch 1.2 no matter what key you bind it to, it does not work. I think sweeping award with damage might do the trick.

Yes there is, any time you enter combat, no matter what difficulty and there is no way to turn it off. It is called SoftLock on, a function CDPR hid in the game that you cannot disable.

You used to have a toggle key to switch targets he faces, but toggling hasn't worked for a few days. This is a known issue.

There is no option. It is called Softlock.

Modders found this in code, and on particular fights where you must destroy an inanimate, non-aggressive target while an aggressive target is facing you, since doing a certain quest in Blood and Wine, it will always softlock. You cannot escape it. Geralt will not turn away unless you sprint, but with certain quests you can't do that.

I haven't had issue with any wraith, Caretaker and every boss before him more difficult than the base game in HoS. I easily whittle down Iris's health, but Geralt refuses to not face her even when you press a direction like I have with every other fight before. Any boss, any enemy.

I looked this up. It is glitch related to blood and wine. As is the potion of clearance one I experienced as well.

I beat her before, easily, on death March before Ng+. I would press a direction as soon as she started levitating and the painting glowed. Rolled once, pressed the direction and hit fast attack. Rinse and repeat 5 times. This is not working this time.

Sidestep doesn't work because Geralt always faces her. He does this wierd thing now where after a roll he's immediately facing the direction she is at, it looks bizarre. Dodge doesn't work because again, he won't stop facing her no matter the direction. I can sprint, but that puts me at the other end of the hall and doesn't let me control facing the painting.

This fight was not like this before. At all. I know ng+ changes some things, but I don't think this is one of those.

I did it by respeccing into Aard and using radius + damage + distance at center of room. Seem to do the trick just took longer and I had to respectful one fight because I lacked proper control over Geralt.

I didn't think about shooting the painting. In frustration before respeccing I started blowing them up with bombs. Didn't have enough bombs though.

I press whirl + direction towards the painting, he starts whirling. Like every other time I used the skill, I guided him towards the direction or target.

In this one fight he won't follow the direction I press, he gravitates towards the center like he's pulled by a black hole or some shit.

I did this fine back in November. I would hit her til she did her levitating, roll to one of the paintings and in 1 slash I'd stop her absorbing health. Or whirl. This isn't working this go around, Geralt feels like he's fighting where I want him to go.

I had no issues with dodging, direction, etc on the Caretaker boss. I has no issue darting to each spirit and cutting them down before he could absorb their health. It wasn't forcing me to lock on to anything like this fight.

What decoctions/potions are fun combos to mess with? I've been experimenting with trying different ones and seeing what's cool and different than the usual spam, but I'm still looking for tips.

Also, any tips for Runewords/Glyphwords for an alchemy build? I'm using Prolongation and Deflection currently, but I feel the health regen bonus damage one might be interesting, provided the full health bonus wasn't just a flat +regen damage

Are you playing with the alternate controls etc on? I literally never have that issue and I'm playing on Death March. I use a lot of signs and dodging while playing though. You're not Master Chef or something where you wade into 50 dudes and kill them all at once as Geralt unless you have Whirl. Just gotta pull mobs away slowly m8. Pick them off at the edges bit by bit, roll through them to kill archers or force them to stop shooting in the back, etc.

I dunno how far in you are but it gets easier the more you play, but at the start you're pretty weak before you find decent gear.

If you need money focus on the actual witcher contracts. They're the best source of income at the start of the game. A lot of your money will just kind of happen though from running around and exploring the ?'s on the map then selling shit to vendors.
