Ninja squid might be utterly fucked now though, due to the new n-zap set having point sensors, and also having kraken. And you know how much everyone loves kraken. It'll likely be one of the most popular weapons in the game, which means there's gonna be a ton of point sensors fucking over ninja squids. Ninja squid users are already fairly rare, from what I've seen at least. Most people seem to prefer cold blooded still, and with the new n-zap any remaining ninja squid users will probably get tired of the point sensors and change over.

My issue with the new NZap is that it feels ability starved.

I want Bomb Range Up for the Point Sensors, I want Swim Speed for Kraken, I want Charge Up for faster Kraken, and I want Run Speed for the gun itself. The other NZaps I can live with mostly Run Speed alone.

That's the problem, there's no real checks or counters for it, it's too balanced and has no flaws. It doesn't have a dead sub like krak-on has balancing it out, all it's subs/specials are great and only further in countering it's weaknesses.

So with the new kraken zap being a thing, and likely going to be the most used kraken weapon of all time, will krakens see a nerf so that they're not what is probably the single best special in the game? I'm not saying I want krakens nerfed into the ground, but I would like something done so that they're not THE go-to choice if a specific weapon has it. Because as it stands right now, with most weapons that have a kraken variant, the other versions might as well not even exist because everyone picks the one with kraken. And with every weapon that didn't already have kraken, once an update adds one with it, the others see a significant drop in use, if not outright dropped in favor of the one with kraken.

Krakens have such a large influence on weapon choice that it's getting ridiculous. Will it ever be nerfed? Or do you think maybe other specials could be improved to make them desirable enough to sometimes want to choose them over the kraken? I hate it when there's an option that beats all the others so badly that the it's the only thing that gets used, so I'd really like for something to change that makes it where krakens aren't the only thing everyone wants to use when it's an option and nothing else can compete.

I'd say they're pretty close due to invincibility on demand, but bubblers are super easy to hit where krakens are not. Krakens also get free movement through enemy ink as well as a one-hit kill attack. Bubblers can be better depending on the weapon, but kraken is consistent no matter what weapon it's on. No. Every weapon charges special at the same rate. There's no "the roller gets half as much special charge for inking this patch of turf as the bucket does.

Every weapon inks turf differently, so some are better at charging specials that others. Long range or a bomb sub helps because you can in turf from a safe distance, as that other anon mentioned.

Inkbrush, Octobrush, then Aerospray are the top 3 in painting speed. Light depletion brushes have the fastest Krakens in the game.
